Political leaders, sport stars and entertainers joined several thousand protesters on Sunday at a Miami rally calling for the arrest of George Zimmerman for the fatal shooting of an unarmed Florida teenager.

Speaking at the rally Sunday, the Rev. Jesse Jackson said the case was about ending all types of racial profiling not just in criminal cases, but by banks, insurance companies and in the job market.
"End profiling now," the civil rights activist said to applause.
Jackson also said Martin's case illustrated the high number of black students who are suspended from school. A report issued by the U.S. Department of Education last month found that black students are more than three times as likely as their white peers to be suspended or expelled. Martin had been suspended from school for having a baggie that contained marijuana residue shortly before he was killed.
"We must stop suspending our children," Jackson said, asking the crowd to repeat: "Invest in them. Educate them."

The Rev. Al Sharpton led the crowd in circulating buckets to collect contributions that he said would help pay for the Martins' legal fees and travel.
"This is not a fit," Sharpton said. "This is a movement."

Trayvon Martin would not have been killed if he wasnt suspended from school ...

Trayvon Martin was killed because he made a series of bad decisions. Suspension of school had nothing to do with it. The left still can’t face up to personal responsibility. Shame on NBC news for doctoring a tape recording to make it appear Zimmerman was racist. The MSM, Obama, Jackson, Sharpton, and the rest of the socialist frauds are no different than those at the back of the lynch mob yelling HANG HIM before they have a clue of what happened. NBC should be boycotted, cancelled, turned off by everyone until they change their racist policy.
Trayvon was killed because his butt wasn't at home..... GROUNDED {like he should have been)
IMHO, if Zimmerman winds up being charged, so should the parents.
Political leaders, sport stars and entertainers joined several hundred protesters on Sunday at a Miami rally calling for the arrest of George Zimmerman for the fatal shooting of an unarmed Florida teenager.
Fixed it for you, lying media.
Good grief, yet another example of the media trying to manipulate this, or am I just now seeing this?
“...don’t suspend”
The reason I parted company with public school and went to prep school was this attitude.
I had a student (male, black) spray concentrated sodium hypochlorate (concentrated bleach) on another student (female, black).
I was across the room and smelled what happened just as the screams started.
The perp was given a THREE DAY suspension. Then, I was expected to RETURN HIM TO CHEM LAB.
Since he only showed up once or twice a week and never did any work, I stuck him in a corner with worksheets when he did show up. (He failed due to poor attendance, not grades.)
The real problem was that he, or his family could have complained and gotten him back in lab.
I am now at a prep school.
During my first year, the head master personally escorted out of lab the only perp I have had in the last 12 years.
That kid got a zero, there was a meeting with Mom and Dad (that afternoon), and the warning was issued that any other offense would mean PERMANENT REMOVAL from school.
Lesson learned, NOT A SINGLE PROBLEM since.
DAMNED LYING MEDIA... I saw the pictures and read first hand reports... 500 were present at most. martin was killed because he attacked another man in an unprovoked act (there is no evidence that Zimmerman did anything at the time the attack occured that would have led to martin attacking in self defense) and martin was a thug and a gangsta by his own admission on Twitter and he talked the talk and walked the walk... and a thug’s life is a short life.

The hype about this entire incident is so out of control it boggles the mind.
He would be alive had he not jumped an armed man.
Yo Jesse, it's not about race, it's about behavior. If you are loud, arrogant, aggressive, offensive, and ignorant, other people will not want to associate or be near you.
If you CHOOSE to be loud, arrogant, aggressive, offensive, and ignorant, you will be shunned and looked down upon, no matter what race, creed, sex, or religion you are.
If Reverend, you really cared, you would be asking why so many people make the choice to be loud, arrogant, aggressive, offensive, and ignorant.

Didn’t ending racial profiling in banking help cause the housing crisis?
Trayvon would not have been killed had he been my son. His butt would have been grounded so badly he would have been missing daylight. His dad didn’t initially think he was missing because he was at the movies with his cuz. On his third suspension since September, and allowed to go to the movies, or walk to the store for skittles and iced tea before settling in for a night of TV. Darn shame.
I agree that large elements of “the established media” are actively trying to create violent social/political discord.
That’s the main reason certain legacy media entities are dying financially, and why other, alternative sources of “news” are busily taking their place.
I wonder why cable TV suppliers cant offer their customers a real choice in selecting only the set number channels desired, out of all the available channels?
But I guess it is the same logic behind health insurance.
I can’t selectively delete aromatherapy or organ transplants from my covered options, and get a cheaper rate.
Nor can I delete ABC/NBC/CBS/CNN from their cut of my cable bill, even if I never access those channels.
After all, we all have to “pay our fair share”, if some person somewhere, wants something few others desire.
“Trayvon Martin was killed because he made a series of bad decisions. Suspension of school had nothing to do with it. “
More babbling nonsense.
Trayvon Martin was in Sanford BECAUSE of the school suspension!
It has everything to do with it.
