LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Los Angeles police say burglars who broke into a Hancock Park home stole a safe believed to contain $10 million in cash, jewelry and other items.
A Police Department statement Monday says investigators believe crooks jumped a security gate and smashed a glass side door to enter the home in the wealthy neighborhood on March 16.

Sounds like an inside job. Somone knew the contents of the safe
10 mil in stash, no locked panic-room for the safe, no false wall, and no safe-drilled-to-the-foundation? in LA?
I have $1 million in the house and the rest in jars buried in the back yard;)
Exactly the one I was thinking of!!!!
“”Waters resides in the Hancock Park area of Los Angeles, which is approximately six miles west of downtown. Her second husband, Sid Williams, played professional football in the NFL and is a former U.S. Ambassador to the Bahamas under the Clinton Administration. In 1990, Waters, along with 15 other African American women and men, formed the African-American Women for Reproductive Freedom.””
I know what framed picture William Devane keeps his gold-filled safe behind. :-)
I know who William Devanne is but have no idea what else is about that post.
” 10mil and NO security cameras... “
This guy is either an idiot, or a scam artist : )
I learned on Storage Wars that any safe, no matter how big. can be broken into in a matter of minutes.
All a lock can do is keep an honest man honest. A lock will not keep out a real thief.
Address please : )
I personally lose a lot of sleep fretting about that happening to me!
You know, part of me wondered if taking that safe was going to be worth it....but now that the ‘news’ has told be there’s $10mil inside, I’m happy I did. /s
“The Number One way to secure a safe so no one can ever break into it is make sure no one knows you have a safe.”
You put in a small safe with nothing of real value in it where it can be found easily and hide the real one with the valuables.
Its in Hancock Park and its in a real nice place in LA. I used to date someone from there.
Then there was that case in 1976 where the bankers needed three hours to break into their own safe ...
... and they were not pleased!
Sorry about your $10 million. :(
Chump change. Everyone knows the real money is in the freezers of Democrat Congressmen.
