Trayvon Martin Story Destroys Last of Media’s Credibility
Red State ^ | 4/3/2012 | Leon H Wolfe

I don’t really know what happened between George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin. What I do know is that this story has resulted in at least one homicide – the self-inflicted homicide of the media’s last shreds of credibility. And it isn’t just conservative blogs that are noticing – even straight news sources have begun to notice the shame with which the media has covered itself during this entire sad saga.

The Washington Post reported Friday that NBC’s egregious editing of Zimmerman’s 911 call will be “internally reviewed,” which is as close as you will ever get to an admission of a very serious screw up from a major news organization.

The most stunning admission yet came from something called a Touré, which is apparently an MSNBC contributor. Touré apparently got tired of being on a television channel no one watches so he went on Piers Morgan last week to take Piers to task for the journalistic crime of getting both sides of the story:

You know, at NBC, in the hallways, we were laughing at you today,” Touré told Morgan. “We wouldn’t take [Robert Zimmerman]. Standards and Practices at NBC wouldn’t let him get through door. And you had him on the air and allowed the hundreds of thousands or tens of thousands or whatever number of people watch your show listen to what he had to say.

This is the first time I can remember an alleged news figure explicitly stating that his network had a policy against allowing one of the major players in a national news story to give his side. My favorite part of Touré’s hysterical rant was his indignation at the fact that people would hear what Zimmerman had to say. One thing is clear – the way the media has been covering this story so far validates that Touré really was telling the truth. Journalistic Standards and Practices apparently don’t allow for any coverage of the Trayvon Martin story that would suggest that the race pimps who are currently hustling this story don’t have it right.

The 6’2 1/2 inch tall, hooded black person with a mouth full of gold teeth and a record of being caught with a backpack full of ladies jewelry and a screwdriver is somehow an innocent angel in media eyes?

Now it’s racism to use critical thinking when looking at all the facts and circumstances? Zimmerman is 5’9″ . How does this pudgy hispanic come off as more powerful and bigger than the 17 year old football player?

Just like the race-pimps and his family trying to say he was going to go to college to be an aerospace engineer, while the facts show that he was shipped out of Miami because he had been suspended 3 times. Kinda hard to get a college degree when you can’t even graduate H/S isn’t it? Spewing racist rhetoric while ignoring what few facts we do know appears to relegate the lame stream media to a dumpster.

Well, remember the pictures of Trayvon show him as a cute innocent looking 13 year old, not as the 17 year old football player. We’re supposed to think that Zimmerman took down a small 13 year old. They intentionally used the young Trayvon pictures to push this story.

. . . the self-inflicted homicide of the media’s last shreds of credibility.

From your keyboard to God's ears. I wish I could be as optimistic as you, but I can't.

It is, however, a step in that direction.

Do we know what a “Toure” is in the first place?

Who is this guy, where did he come from, how did he get a gig at MSNBC, and why should we listen to what he has to say???

Is “Toure” even his real name? What name is on his driver’s license?

And, how is he so famous that he can go by one name? Is he really as famous as Elvis or Madonna and use only one name??

What does it say about me if I don’t know who this “Toure” is? Am I out of it in keeping up with who the talking heads on TV are????

Frankly it went out the window when they spiked the Monica Lewinsky story, but whatever.

Conservatives long ago figured out they couldn’t trust the MSM. Independents have begun to figure out they were duped by the media as relates Barack Obama.

Left-leaning individuals need constant affirmation of their now demonstrably failed world-view, and that’s the market the MSM now serves.

The attempt to re-sell Barack Obama to this country in 2012 will limit their market further.

The media’s creibility was long gone before Monica’s ex-boyfriend stained the scene. Any trace amount the fifth-column media might have been had was evaporated back in their (non)reporting of the 1960 Presidential campaign and subsequent JFK incompetence and debauchery.

Its about POWER and the re-election of Obama—that’s it. If racism is here its Black racism on “White” (the Zimmerman fellow is a Latino) They did everything they could to turn Zimmerman into a Monster and the Black kid into an Angel. See the new cover of People Magazine? Little black angel at 11 is smiling back at us. Even Hitler was cute as a child.

The leftist tendency of the old networks goes back to the days of Edward R. Murrow, who led a smear campaign against Joseph McCarthy in the early 1950s. The older family-owned newspaper chains, like those of the Hearsts, the McCormicks, and the Chandlers, were either taken over by media conglomerates or passed through inheritance into the hands of the liberal offspring of conservative founders. Ditto for the old three networks; their founders, like William Paley and David Sarnoff, were nonideological businessmen, but their heirs, usually Ivy League educated, as were the family-owned print media, were doctrinaire liberals. Liberals have dominated the university journalism schools since the end of World War II. The college-educated journalists slowly replaced the old school "college of hard knocks" newspaper men. Many of the old school were conservative (Walter Winchell), reactionary (Westbrook Pegler), or libertarian (John T. Flynn), though, of course others were not (Edward R. Murrow as an example).

Since 1990, the liberal near-monopoly of the mass media has been challenged, but not broken, first by conservative talk radio, then by Fox News and later by the Internet, bloggers, and social media. It is far harder for the MSM to spin the Trayvon Martin-Zimmerman situation as easily as they did 20 years earlier with racial confrontations such as Rodney King.

Yes you are correct. They are stoking a race war because in their little pea brains they think that will “motivate the base”.

They are too stupid to realize that the kind of racial unrest they are fomenting will actually have the mushy middlers running to the polls as fast as their legs will carry them to vote Obama and Holder out.

It WILL motivate the black racist base—the ones who drank his koolaid last time around will be all too willing to do it again as long as they keep getting free stuff and are free from prosecution from black on white crime while being protected by holder and the doj.

And.....the picture they use of Zimmerman, makes it look as if he is wearing an orange jumpsuit. a la The Graybar Hotel.
