I've taken to reading an adjacent county's police log for entertainment (I need to get a life . . . ). The local paper likes to delve into these stories in great detail.

Anyway, my favorite story from today's edition. I think you can file it under "strange things that happen in the bathroom":

Self-inflicted wound: Charles Haddix, 43, of 23 Scenic Drive, was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital Friday after North Franklin police said he accidentally shot himself in the hand.

Haddix told police he was sitting on the toilet, removing the handgun from the holster when it went off, hitting him in the left hand. The bullet went through his hand, through a wall and then hit an embankment across the street, police said.

His brother, Sebastian Haddix, told police he heard a loud bang and then heard his brother swearing.

Charles Haddix was taken to Washington Hospital and then transferred to UPMC-Presbyterian hospital. He was released after undergoing surgery on his hand.

BTW...was delegate at my local convention this past weekend...John Kline spoke and dang near RAN out the door so as to avoid ANY questions! (said he was on the way to another convention, so I cut him some slack),,,I restrained myself and only went to the mic three times for a “point of order....” ;-) Had one Ron Paul idiot escorted out by the Sgt at Arms, for causing disruption...otherwise it was an uneventful day...although those elected to state delegate this time was surprising at best! Many MANY of the party supporters were voted out and many MANY new faces voted in, and YES, the majority of those are PAULITES!! (puke)
