A majority of Wisconsin voters now support the effort to recall Republican Governor Scott Walker.
A new Rasmussen Reports statewide survey shows that, if the recall election was held today, 52% of Likely Voters would vote to recall Governor Walker and remove him from office. Forty-seven percent (47%) would vote against the recall and let him continue to serve as governor. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Sad, isn’t it? All the reward is in screwing the country, those who try to save it are screwed. We’ll see.
Well, the recall is NOT being held today.
Margin for error makes it go the other way.
Nobody bothered to ask me or anyone in my family that say to heck with the unions and praise Governor Walker.
I support Governor Walker.
They must held seances when completing the petitions, because the dead surely have been head from.
If they vote to recall Walker, then they are fools.
Re: They must held seances when completing the petitions, because the dead surely have been head from
Along with Mickey Mouse and Hitler—The Rat party determined these to be valid votes.
Read that early this a.m.... Considering how WI was moving away from pro-recall sentiment, this is rather unsettling.... and sad.
It’s analogous to the patient who’s undergoing some challenges with post-surgery therapy, and decides he wants his brain tumor put back.
Well, on the upside though, if Walker does go down, many RTW states will benefit as businesses start fleeing. WI still has to balance its budget, and since they’ll repeal anything pertaining to what Walker stood for, the new state governor and congress will go back to excessive taxation to cover the year-end financial numbers.
Had hope for ya, Wisconsin.... You dump Walker, Kleefisch and those four senators, it’ll be quite clear you prefer kneeling at the feet of the all-power union bosses.
poll heavily slanted with democraps? again?
52% are stupid.
Wonder if this’ll be ready to go national by late Nov.
52% would like to send all business to Indiana.
If Wisconsin does recall Governor Walker, and the time ever comes that Wisconsin asks the Feds for a bailout, I say we tell them to go to hell.
I'm betting they're somehow of the mindset that WI will get a federal bailout to prevent default, once they re-establish their illusory public-sector union good life.
That bailout isn't going to be quite so easy to obtain.
Theolos are not accurate and are being used to influence voters. June 5 we will show the nation the only poll about the recall that counts.
Or Virginia.
Wherever it ends up, it won't be coming back to an unstable state like Wisconsin, in which the Governor and legislators can end up being recalled on the snap of the union boss's fingers.
Don’t believe the poll. It ain’t true.
It’s dismaying that it’s this close, given what we’ve just been through.
The average Wisconsin voter wants a vocal minority machine to run the state and their lives?
What are they thinking? Have they talked to California?
Let’s hope they have not thought this through yet.
That's an important point. It's a relatively small sample (500 likely voters), so the margin of error is +/- 4.5 points. The result is well within that.
It's still disappointingly close. And given this is a presidential election year, turn-out will be heavy.
I hope it fails. Walker and the Lt. Gov. both need our support.
WI FReepers, has Walker started launching his ads yet, or is he holding fast until the scumocrats have a nominee? This may possibly change if he's been biding his time until the bad guys send someone forward.
This is a BS poll. WI voters won’t actually vote yes or no on the recall. When they get into the voting booth they will be given the choice between Walker and whatever Democrat wins the May 8 primary. That Democrat is likely be damaged from a very nasty primary and will have less than a month to unite the party.
This is liberal disinformation. Gov. Walker is liked by we of the WI silent majority and we will vote against this recall. The article, to me, is a reminder to send Walker a contribution.
It that does indeed happen here you’d be well within your right to tell us that.
My bet (or hope to be fair) is an outlier from Ras on this one. With all of the BS that has been going on here because of Democrats I honestly cannot see how on earth how we ended up with that number. Republicans are fired up to kill off this desperate attempt and I don’t see the whole Democrat party fired up on this...just the far left. I have a good number of Democrats friends who did not sign the recall and have no intention of voting in the recall.
I’m pro-recall at this point because I want the chance to crush them.
We’ll see, but I have faith in this State.
I did lived in Wisconsin and, while Wisconsinites are generally nice people, they seem to worship their unions. If the union bosses say "he's bad," he's deemed bad.
Plus, the improvements the Walker administration has brought -- though highly beneficial -- spell "change" in the name of self-determination and freedom... and apparently those concepts frighten some people. They've existed for decades on their back under the union jackboot, and the new view from a standing position must be unsettling.
lived = live
I hope not either...
Here is my take on this poll. Lefties always are vocal about how much they hate our TERRIFIC Gov. Scott Walker. Even though Rasmussen is a good group, this poll IMHO does not reflect how we feel here in WI.
The reforms Walker put in place ARE WORKING. One note is that the Wisconsin Education Association (WEAC) was FORCING the school districts to purchase health insurance from their OWN company at extremely inflated disgusting prices. Walker put a stop to that! School boards can now shop for much less expensive health insurance and have done that in droves. That ONE reform saves literally MILLIONS for even a small school district.
Also when a polling group calls a union member - hence teacher that perhaps does NOT want to be outed as being in favor of the reforms they, in fear that the poll is a fake one by the unions themselves, will not answer honestly. There are teachers here in WI that never wanted to be part of the union, but were forced to pay dues, etc. Now they don’t have to.
Let the dust settle on this. The left knows the reforms have been amazingly effective and ARE saving WI taxpayers millions of dollars with just a few easy fixes as he put in place.
I don’t believe these numbers. Yes - WE the TEA Party people AND concerned taxpayers are well informed and will make our voices heard for this recall. I’m hoping and praying for a blowout, but the national unions see the handwriting / Obama / Soros will spend literally millions here trying to defeat Walker on June 5. That is not rumor - word on street all over here in WI. Union thugs are not queit people. Please donate to Scott Walker if you can. We appreciate your concern.
Wisconsin is a lovely state and yes this is a battleground state for the national conversation for the union thugs. We appreciate your prayers AND your donations to Scott Walker.
but then again, I think most of the country is full of idiots....
now is the time to send in donations....he’ll make it but he needs a little help to combat the rat machine...
Rasmussen is a pretty good pollster but if you can not see the crosstabs you can not trust a poll. JMHO.
Wisconsin latest Rasmussen Poll against Walker :(
FReep Mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.
I’m pretty sure this is a skewed poll, meant to influence and demoralize. Just anecdotal, I drove from western Wis. to central Wis., over the weekend, to visit friends. For every Recall Walker yard sign I saw along the way, I saw five Support the Governor yard signs and homemade billboards in the vicinity.
Unless the dems bring scores of busloads of "voters" up from Illinois to wreak electoral havoc at the polls.
I know that polls last month showed Walker comfortably ahead of his likely dem opponents. This poll is small and may be an outlier because of that.
It is one thing to recall but what are you replacing Walker with? If he polls better than his opponents, that is good news for Walker.
