How to Find a Green Job
AARP.com ^ | April 3, 2012 | by: Kerry Hannon

For those of you looking for a job or a different career, there’s some good news: Green jobs — that is, those with an eco-friendly focus — are expected to grow in the coming years.

What’s more you needn’t worry about having to have a green résumé. If you have technical skills in engineering, architecture, accounting, marketing or project management, you’ll find job openings at solar energy firms, renewable energy outfits and others.

Interested? Here are five jobs to consider, depending on your skills and interests. Pay varies based on factors such as experience and where you live. Salary figures are primarily derived from U.S. Department of Labor data.

The article lists them:

-Landscaper
-Park Ranger
-Vehicle Emissions Test Technician
-Green Building Consultant
-Waste Recycling Consultant

The ones with “consultant” in their title pay $75-120K.
The others are 13 to 20 bucks an hour. All highly productive for the economy I might add /sarc

If you get a job at a solar energy firm like the article suggests, especially one which got fed funds, you will soon be able to collect unemployment for two whole years. We all know that spending unemployment check will help the economy. Libs said so.

I note that the date on the article is April 1.

I’m sure the article was an unintentional April Fool’s joke, but a joke it is.

Find a “Green job”? Go to Law School. Specialize in either bankruptcy, or white collar criminal defense.

Here’s a photo that illustrates some folks working at real green jobs:

Of course, the economic value of most such jobs is less than zero. The main exception is aluminum cans, which really are worth something.

These are not particularly desirable jobs, but they could get worse if Obama is re-elected: something like garbage dump scavengers in Nairobi or Rio.

Mrs. Tick made these spinach-and-cheese enchiladas for dinner one evening. They were really good and I ate a whole bunch of ‘em!

And the next morning, I found a Green Job. Not only that, I discovered that I was a CREATOR of Green Jobs! Pretty cool huh. Maybe I can get a gubmint grant or something. :-)

It’s not like there weren’t any stats available about the success of “green jobs”. Spain went “green” years ago and for every green job created, 5 regular jobs were destroyed. I guess that’s the Left’s version of progress — NOT.

For political types, the words “jobs” and “green” poll very well.

So the phrase “green jobs” polls out of this world.

It just sounds good to the uninformed.

The thing is, there are no green jobs. I have yet to meet anybody who has a “green job”.

It is just political “glitter and unicorns.
