ARPAIO TO DOJ: “I WILL NOT SURRENDER MY OFFICE TO THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT”

DOJ TO SHERIFF ARPAIO: “MONITOR ABSOLUTELY MANDATORY”

ARPAIO TO DOJ: “I WILL NOT SURRENDER MY OFFICE TO THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT”

(Phoenix, AZ) A series of meetings between representatives for Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and the U.S. Department of Justice were slated to begin tomorrow to discuss ways to resolve allegations of racial profiling by Sheriff’s employees.

But hours before the first meeting, Deputy Assistant Attorney General Roy Austin of the Department of Justice's Civil Rights Division called Arpaio’s attorneys with an ultimatum. Austin stated that it was absolutely mandatory for the Sheriff’s Office to agree to have an outside monitor otherwise there is no reason for further meetings.

Appointment of an outside monitor essentially usurps the powers and duties of an elected Sheriff and transfers them to a person or group of persons selected by the federal government. Every policy decision, every operation, every new program in the jails and in enforcement, virtually everything would have to be approved by the monitor, nullifying the authority of the elected Sheriff and eviscerating the will of the citizens of Maricopa County.

“I am the constitutionally and legitimately elected Sheriff and I absolutely refuse to surrender my responsibility to the federal government. And so to the Obama administration, who is attempting to strong arm me into submission only for its political gain, I say, ‘This will not happen, not on my watch!’”

Joe is right. The federal government has no more jurisdiction over him as an elected official than they would a governor or a state legislator. These criminal psychopaths of the former "Department of Justice" need severe re-education to understand the limits of their power.

Thanks for posting this article!!

I am thinking the worst of this development. And I am sure that many of you are thinking the same thing. If the feds are ready to order an elected sheriff to relinquish his post, then it seems to me that "plans" are farther along than we think. It almost seems like a green light for other elements of societal unrest to begin.

I believe Holder was looking to control more than just Arpaio. I believe he's looking to control possible witnesses in Fast and Furious that may be in Arpaio’s jail. Of course, he probably thinks by knocking Arpaio down, it also knocks his credibility on the eligibility issue.

To borrow a phrase from Algore, and use it where it is actually true, there is no controlling legal authority. The DoJ has no Constitutional authority to oversee a county sheriff’s office’s business.

Well, if we are going to talk about the magnificent, limited government PROSCRIBED poswers of our Constitution, we need to roll back to a better United States of at least 100 years ago.

It almost seems like a green light for other elements of societal unrest to begin.

It's right out of the Alinsky play book. When you're losing ground, double down. They're going to persist until it breaks out in open warfare. Best be prepared for it. When it comes to that, take Henry Bowman's advice, as I surely will: "If you see something that needs doing, DO it!"

"Never pick a fight with an old man.
If he's too old to fight, he'll just kill you."

Better? 1913 ~ the United States under the Progressives had just passed the Income Tax amendment and was preparing to begin screwing down the public just like would shortly happen in Russia.

The Conservative Movement has been a long, hard struggle for the last century TO GET RID OF THE PROGRESSIVES.

Last thing we want to do is have to start that over!

I think that is what they are hoping for. Civil unrest, strife, and war. Then it makes it easier to demand more control.

Right, that is why I said at least 100 years ago which would take us to BEFORE the date you cited as well as such downward ratcheting of the American ideal as Woodrow Wilson “progressivism” and FDR's numerous collectivist maneuvers.

Even so, America of even 50 years ago was MARKEDLY better than the nightmare ofRaceMarxism which is dominant in today's United States.

LBJ was in charge 50 years ago. You don't want more of that.

What you are looking for is the 1820s when Congress screwed everything up by deciding it was OK for immigrants to come to America.

That is nearly 200 years ago!

BTW, that period from 1870 to 1913 is just as bad as later.

I have some qualms about what Philippe II/III did by carving up North America with the Brits and French in 1604. Certainly the Swedish Empire and the Hapsburg "Empire" had quite enough people to fill up the interior without all those guys.

So, take your pick ~ 200 years back, or 400 years back ~ definitely a free'r country with boundless opportunity.

Eastern Europe under Communism

Snip: The Soviet government also controlled communications media, such as newspapers, books, and radio. This meant that most Soviet citizens could not learn much about other nations around the world.

2011 Louisiana Laws - Revised Statutes - Title 14 - Criminal Law - RS14:358 - Subversive activities and communist control law; legislative finding of fact and declaration of necessity

Snip: The world communist movement constitutes a clear and present danger to the citizens of the state of Louisiana and is a dangerous enemy of the state of Louisiana. This makes it necessary that the Legislature, in order to protect the people of the state, to preserve the sovereignty of the state under the constitutions of the United States and the state of Louisiana, and to guarantee to the State a republican form of government, enact appropriate legislation recognizing the existence of the world communist movement and preventing it from the accomplishment of its purposes in the state of Louisiana.

Communism and education

Snip: When parents say, 'My daughter', 'My son', the words do not simply imply the existence of a parental relationship, they also give expression to the parents' view that they have a right to educate their own children. From the socialist outlook, no such right exists.

Joe knows full well that any DOJ presence would be the camel’s nose under the tent. He can’t, absolutely CAN NOT, give them any slack at all.

The DOJ under Holder has zero credibility and strongly damaged legitimacy. Virtually all US Federal Agencies are under clouds because of the willingness the Obama Administration has shown to use them as political tools.

Sheriff Arpaio is the first, but I don’t believe he will be the last.
