Obama Alienates Canada And Mexico At Three Amigos
Investors Business Daily ^ | Apr 3, 2012 | Staff

Posted on 04/04/2012 6:41:51 AM PDT by bkopto

Obama's neglect of our nearest neighbors and biggest trade partners has created deteriorating relations, a sign of a president who's out of touch with reality. Problems are emerging that aren't being reported.

Fortunately, the Canadian and Mexican press told the real story. Canada's National Post quoted former Canadian diplomat Colin Robertson as saying the North American Free Trade Agreement and the three-nation alliance it has fostered since 1994 have been so neglected they're "on life support."

Energy has become a searing rift between the U.S. and Canada and threatens to leave the U.S. without its top energy supplier.

The Winnipeg Free Press reported that Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper warned Obama the U.S. will have to pay market prices for its Canadian oil after Obama's de facto veto of the Keystone XL pipeline. Canada is preparing to sell its oil to China.

Until now, NAFTA had shielded the U.S. from having to pay global prices for Canadian oil. That's about to change.

SNIP

Excelsior of Mexico City reported that President Felipe Calderon bitterly brought up Operation Fast and Furious, a U.S. government operation that permitted Mexican drug cartels to smuggle thousands of weapons into drug-war-torn Mexico. This blunder has wrought mayhem on Mexico and cost thousands of lives.

The mainstream U.S. press has kept those questions out of the official press conferences, while Obama has feigned ignorance to the Mexicans and hasn't even apologized.

Harper is entering full "Don't get mad, get even" mode and he will drop the bomb on Obama this summer primarily on energy and forcing up gasoline prices before the election. Look too for him to pull the plug on a lot of Obama favorites and announce some bilateral agreements with China, Japan and Korea who are all in the market for Canadian energy, coal, natural gas and oil, each one undercutting the US and their green dreaming. Harper will not utter a nasty word, he will just act and screw Obama and his friends on the left...particularly his buddies in Tides Foundation and all the envirowhackos trying to stop the energy development by treating them as foreign invaders and pulling their charitable standing.

I wish the general American public could remember to contrast this with his bowing to the Saudi king. It seems too many can’t even make the clear connection between his policies and words, and rising gas prices.

Yo, El Presidente, you need to keep up. F&F is water under the bridge. You should've asked Urkel what he intends to do with the 450 million rounds of ammo he recently purchased.

Well wait a minute now. Just the other day I was old the North American Union was near. Now I’m told Obama is screwing over our neighbors and negotiating the relationship.

So which is it? It’s so hard to keep track...

Wha...? When was this? This is very disturbing in light of the fact that an almost month-old shooting in self-defense was just dredged up to be used to incite racial riots.

"In short, the summit was a diplomatic disaster for the U.S. and its relations with its neighbors north and south."

Perhaps his frustration with Harper and Calderone refusing to be willing pawns was the root of Barkin' Barak's distemper the last 72 hours. The Prez seems to be losing it: Between his chock full o' lies Ryan Roast at the AP luncheon (where the correspondents refused to laugh at his jokes) and the voiding of Marbury v Madison at the Three Amigos press conference, he appears wobbly, like a spinning top running out of spin.

May he never recover.

This is the time to really turn up the heat...unfortunately the only one doing anything is that judge on the fifth circuit firing that demand over to the DOJ. One should expect to hear something from the gop in the house but of course bonehead is just go along to get along and that dope in the senate has had one too many mint julips. We don’t even hear much from the GOP chairman either.

I doubt it would. If dumbo can get away with killing thousands of Mexicans and still get the support of Hispanics, Calderon saying he would prefer a Republican President wouldn’t make a bit of difference.

and rising gas prices.

If you think gasoline prices are going up, wait until July or August, when electricity prices will hit all-time highs. If the republicans don't make Obama the star of every one of their congressional, senatorial, and presidential commercials, stating that he was going to bankrupt electrical companies, and how energy prices will necessarily skyrocket, then the republicans deserve to lose every single election.

I truly don't believe that he is even a citizen of this country. He is a foreigner, as would be shown by his college records. He was foisted on this country by the Democrat Party bigwigs, looking only for someone to win the 2008 election.

The First Time I Heard of Barack - Tom Fife

During the period of roughly February 1992 to mid 1994, I was making frequent trips to Moscow, Russia, in the process of starting a software development joint-venture company with some people from the Russian scientific community. One of the men in charge on the Russian side was named V. M.; he had a wife named T.M.

V. was a level-headed scientist while his wife was rather deeply committed to the losing Communist cause - a cause she obviously was not abandoning.

One evening, during a trip early in 1992, the American half of our venture were invited to V. & T.’s Moscow flat as we were about to return to the States. The party went well and we had the normal dinner discussions.

As the evening wore on, T. developed a decidedly rough anti-American edge - one her husband tried to quietly rein in.

The bottom line of the tirade she started against the United States went something like this:

“You Americans always like to think that you have the perfect government and your people are always so perfect. Well then, why haven’t you had a woman president by now? You had a chance to vote for a woman vice-president and you didn’t do it.”

The general response went something along the lines that you don’t vote for someone just because of their sex. Besides, you don’t vote for vice-president, but the president and vice-president as a ticket.

“Well, I think you are going to be surprised when you get a black president very soon.”

The consensus we expressed was that we didn’t think there was anything innately barring that. The right person at the right time and sure, America would try to vote for the right person, be he or she black or not.

“What if I told you that you will have a black president very soon and he will be a Communist?”

The out-of-the-blue remark was met by our stares. She continued, “Well, you will; and he will be a Communist.”

It was then that the husband unsuccessfully tried to change the subject; but she was on a roll and would have nothing of it. One of us asked, “It sounds like you know something we don’t know.”

“Yes, it is true. This is not some idle talk. He is already born and he is educated and being groomed to be president right now. You will be impressed to know that he has gone to the best schools of Presidents. He is what you call “Ivy League”. You don’t believe me, but he is real and I even know his name. His name is Barack. His mother is white and American and his father is black from Africa. That’s right, a chocolate baby! And he’s going to be your President.”

She became more and more smug as she presented her stream of detailed knowledge and predictions so matter-of-factly - as though all were foregone conclusions. “It’s all been thought out. His father is not an American black so he won’t have that social slave stigma. He is intelligent and he is half white and has been raised from the cradle to be an atheist and a Communist. He’s gone to the finest schools. He is being guided every step of the way and he will be irresistible to America.”

We sat there not knowing what to say. She was obviously very happy that the Communists were doing this and that it would somehow be a thumbing of their collective noses at America: they would give us a black president and he’d be a Communist to boot. She made it quite obvious that she thought that this was going to breathe new life into world Communism. From this and other conversations with her, she always asserted that Communism was far from dead.

She was full of little details about him that she was eager to relate. I thought that maybe she was trying to show off that this truly was a real person and not just hot air.

She rattled off a complete litany. He was from Hawaii. He went to school in California. He lived in Chicago. He was soon to be elected to the legislature. “Have no doubt: he is one of us, a Soviet.”

At one point, she related some sort of San Francisco connection, but I didn’t understand what the point was and don’t recall much about that. I was just left with the notion that she considered the city to be some sort of a center for their activity here.

Since I had dabbled in languages, I knew a smattering of Arabic. I made a comment: “If I remember correctly, ‘Barack’ comes from the Arabic word for ‘Blessing.’ That seems to be an odd name for an American.” She replied quickly, “Yes. It is ‘African’”, she insisted, “and he will be a blessing for world Communism. We will regain our strength and become the number one power in the world.”

She continued with something to the effect that America was at the same time the great hope and the great obstacle for Communism. America would have to be converted to Communism and Barack was going to pave the way.

So, what does this conversation from 1992 prove?

Well, it’s definitely anecdotal. It doesn’t prove that Obama has had Soviet Communist training nor that he was groomed to be the first black American president, but it does show one thing that I think is very important. It shows that Soviet Russian Communists knew of Barack from a very early date. It also shows that they truly believed among themselves that he was raised and groomed Communist to pave the way for their future. This report on Barack came personally to me from one of them long before America knew he existed.

Although I had never before heard of him, at the time of this conversation Obama was 30+ years old and was obviously tested enough that he was their anticipated rising star.

Funny you should mention stumpage.

After years of acrimonius and bitter fighting, and dozens of lawsuits from both sides EVERY ONE OF WHICH THE US ARGUMENTS WERE FOUND GROUNDLESS AND SPECIOUS, the ignorant and venal still try to do a “South Park” and blame Canada.

What’s truly sad is that the US public is so misinformed and kept in the dark about their bureaucratic malfeasance that supposedly informed folks continue spouting the same tired canards about supposed missteps by other nations when it’s “The good old US of A” that is in error.

Do a little research and learn such minor points, for example, to log Crown land, the logging company has to undergo environmental assessments of their roads, build their own roads, and then decommission those roads ALL AT THEIR OWN EXPENSE. US logging roads in national forests are built and maintained by the taxpayer. If THAT isn’t a huge subsidy that FAR outstrips the admittedly lower stumpage rates, well, you’re not paying attention.

As for the Mexican trucks, boy oh boy, I’m with you there, brother! Unless the vehicle can pass the same roadworthiness inspection as any other US or Canadian truck has to, it shouldn’t be allowed into the country. Some of the wrecks I’ve seen driving down the roads in Arizona and SoCal scared me, and I was either in a parking lot, or going the opposite way on I-5/8/10. How can those guys even drive those things?
