A suicide attack on a NATO foot patrol has left 15 people dead in northern Afghanistan, according to local officials.

"A suicide bomber targeted a group of foreign friends" near a park, provincial governor Abdul Haq Shafaq told the AFP news agency of the motorcycle-riding attacker.

Among the dead were four US soldiers, four Afghan police, an Afghan interpreter for the US soldiers and six Afghan civilians including two women and two children, local police sources told Al Jazeera.

Another 30 Afghan civilians and four US soldiers were wounded in the attack.

Barbarians. And stupid, too... What are they trying to do, keep us there?

It doesn’t take a rocket surgeon to figure out that if Afghanistan became somewhat more peaceful it would grant excellent cover to finally pull everything out of there and go home. Ongoing violence makes it harder to justify leaving, not easier.

The electorate would not permit us to lose people there
open-ended. Sooner or later the Congress will be forced into something such as Cooper-Church to terminate the
ground presence in Afghanistan.

As for the rascal Zawahiri and his minions.. the MQ-9s will be forever watching.

Obama is the murderer. Our troops have been hung out to dry for the sake of his islamism.

It certainly isn’t good for Obama when American troops are identified as such instead of “NATO troops”...

Two brothers who are as close to me as brothers can be are stuck in that hell hole nation. They have rules of engagement which could be written by Osama Bin Laden.

There is a man rotting in Leavinworth for killing a terrorist in self defense and Obama and his minions keep punishing our troops.

If Bozo the Clown's granddaughter ran for President and guaranteed immediate withdrawal from that hell hole I'd vote for her. I'd even vote for Bozo's creepy side kick who is probably working in the Obama Administration under "Children Services"...

On the contrary. Obama commands the enemy to kill
Americans; and by calling them NATO, the
America people remain in the dark.

The MSM will NEVER expose the Moslem undocumented Tyrant
for what he really is.

If things have gone as planned, my nephew left that hell hole today.

Thank God for him. My nephew got back from there a few months ago and I thank God every day he’s out of there. Was there for one year. He was in Iraq for about 10 months a couple of years ago.

Rules of engagement are disgusting. This is WAR - not “let’s support the muslims of the world. I don’t understand why some good journalist (I kid myself) that has a relative in the military doesn’t blow the whistle on those stupid rules.

I’m deciding that I’m OK with leaving any time now. The mission there has been, by pretty much any measure, accomplished. OBL is dead, and his AQ organization is cut to pieces. That’s what we went there to do, and we did it. Time to leave the place to the Afghans and let them figure out what century they want to live in. When AQ reconstitutes there or elsewhere, then we deal with them.
