Gas numbers game is a loser for Obama (A majority rightfully blame Obama)

President Obama’s poll numbers are up and the country’s unemployment figures are down — but $4 gas poses a potent threat to the incumbent’s re-election bid, polls show.

Voters are giving Mr. Obama an emphatic thumbs down for his handling of gas prices — 68 percent disapprove of his response to the problem in the latest Reuters/Ipsos poll.

The White House and Mr. Obama’s re-election team are acutely aware of the political danger. The president has given seven speeches in March alone on energy and gas prices in an attempt to convince the public that there is no “silver bullet” solution.

“The Obama campaign knows that high gas prices can sink his presidency,” said Republican strategist Ron Bonjean. “They are throwing the kitchen sink at this problem through advertising, campaign appearances and high-profile speeches.”

I left a note at the pump last night. “good job Obama!”

I came back 30 minutes later with the Wife’s car and the note was gone. It’s hitting a nerve with libs.

4.05, best price I could find last night.

We can look for a fall of gasoline prices when the election is near. The Saudis will dump oil on the market and help their stooge win re-election

Yellow sticky pad and a pen. Keep it in the car and leave a note at every gas station.

Oil supply isn't driving this. In fact, there is a huge glut in oil on the U.S. market right now, as evidenced by the enormous gap between the price of Brent crude oil and West Texas crude on the spot market.

The decline of the U.S. dollar is driving this more than anything else. Dumping more oil on the world market will simply make it cheaper for others, not us. In fact, the U.S. in 2011 -- for the first time in more than 60 years -- became a net exporter of refined fuel products. The stark reality is that we're becoming increasingly unable to afford our own domestically-produced fuel.

Exactly. There are plenty of adoring sheep who would happily accept any explanation by 0bama as to why he wants $9 gas in this country. In their twisted minds, if 0bama says it, it`s gospel that shall be followed.

Price of food goes up next.

I wonder if Al Sharpton will protest this.

Gold went from 1000 to 1600 an ounce under Mugabi.

The dollar has lost a third of its value.

If reelected we are toast.

Remember, Obama said he wanted the $4B in oil subsidies scrapped and that money ‘invested’ into more Solyndra type idiocy. Are the sheep concerned? Nope, they just keep on grazing.

They have attempted to convince the people that the law of supply and demand has been suspended, a difficult task.

“We can’t drill because it won’t help the price at the pump now” is reasoning that assumes us all to be like little kids unwilling to wait for our goodies. (OK, 30% of us are little kids unwilling to wait....).

I think the people are finally beginning to realize this is all just an attempt to dupe us, and that’s why this issue is so powerful for our side.

I think Mitt had a good line on Gas Prices the other day

Everytime you pass a Gas Station the price you see is the Obama Gas Price.

Starting today, I’m leaving the same notes at the gas pumps. I drive rental cars part time three day’s a week and on an average day, I fuel at least 4 to 5 cars a day at different gasoline station’s. The notes of HOW’S THAT HOPE AN CHANGE WORKING FOR YOU will be posted starting today.

They have attempted to convince the people that the law of supply and demand has been suspended, a difficult task.

I dunno about that. If there is a glut of crude out there, and yet the price is still over $100 a barrel, the average Joe Sixpack out there is going to conclude that the Law of Supply and Demand (and, by inference, Capitalism) has stopped working. Or that some sinister evil force is manipulating things.

So we go on to the next theory about refinery shutdowns. Which feeds conspiracy theories. All of which will cause the great unwashed to agitate for more government intervention.

A very sophisticated game is going on to convince as many people as possible that "Capitalism is BROKEN and MUST be FIXED (read "replaced")

There is a glut in the landlocked middle, but we still import significantly more oil than we produce ourselves. And that oil is not selling at the WTI discount.
