A Grad rocket has landed in the southern Israeli city of Eilat, but has caused no damage or injuries, Israeli security officials said.
District police chief Ron Gertner told Israeli radio the rocket had been fired from Egypt's Sinai peninsula.
He said it struck a construction site close to a residential area shortly after midnight (21:00 GMT).
The blast took place as thousands congregated in the resort town for the Jewish holiday of Passover.
Rocket attacks from Egyptian soil are uncommon. Attacks on Eilat and the nearby Jordanian town of Aqaba in 2010 killed one person and injured another four.
Sinai unrest
Eilat Mayor Meir Yitzhak-Halevy told the Jerusalem Post that the city would function as normal despite the attack.
A wave of unrest has hit the restive Sinai peninsula recently.
Israel says militants have become active in the region since former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak was overthrown in February 2011.
In August 2011, an armed group crossed the border into Israel from the Sinai peninsula and killed eight Israelis.
Israel blamed Palestinian militants but five Egyptian policemen were killed as Israeli forces pursued the gunmen, sparking a diplomatic row between the two countries.

I wonder how many Americans have NO CLUE as to the significance of this “coincidence” (for the record - I don’t believe in *coincidences*). I’m sure those in Israel understand, especially Bibi.
Does it really matter? We both know that ALL of those weapons are now in the hands of Israel (and the *West’s* enemies), and they were basically GIVEN to them by NATO!!!
I can’t believe what this world has become, and how many people are so blinded. God gave us warning of this in the Bible - I shouldn’t be shocked, but I can’t help being awestruck at the amount of human stupidity and delusions that exist in various groups of people. I’m talking about people I know to have extremely high IQs who are either psychopathic/sociopathic liars, or who have suffered some type of serious brain damage that had to have affected their logic and reasoning centers - only problem is, none of these former classmates have been injured as far as I know. It’s just like they all went to college, and came back as totally rattled brainwashed idiots who somehow STILL believe they are smarter than everyone else despite their clear deficiencies.

I know that, and you know that, but I'm not going to get into my military intelligence officer mode discussing range/payload/accuracy, etc. The point of my post was that battlefield artillery is being used against civilians and to put into perspective at how awful that is.

You are right DAC21, I could be mistaken, but I think it may be the first time since the 67 six day war (in which Egypt got their asses kicked) that an attack on Israel originated from Egyptian soil. It just highlights how serious things are getting. If one of those rockets had hit Aqaba do you think Jordan would have taken it lightly? Israel is showing amazing restraint.
On a side note, Mr. Obama hosting the Muslim Brotherhood in D.C. is utterly disgusting. How can it get any clearer what the POTUS REALLY thinks about Israel? I’ll bet anyone my next paycheck Israel will commence it’s campaign on taking out any Iranian threats before the Nov. elections.

israel needs to announce that the new response will be a flat out destruction of the launch areas within a one mile circumference to eliminate the threat...
and when a launch is detected, launch a counter offensive to annihilate the source. and do it every time.

BTW: this is supposedly a KH-11 satellite photo of a Chinese 1kt neutron bomb over a remote orchard dropped by a JH-7 aircraft from 10,000 feet. The airburst showered the area with deadly neutrons (dark area) and doing limited damage to the buildings 3,000 feet below the 300m wide fireball.
