Two days after losing three more primaries, Rick Santorum appears to be in trouble in his home state:
Mitt Romney’s taken the lead in PPP’s newest poll of Rick Santorum’s home state of Pennsylvania. Romney has 42% to 37% for Santorum with Ron Paul at 9% and Newt Gingrich at 6%. The numbers represent a dramatic turnaround from when PPP polled the state a month ago. Romney’s gained 17 points, going from 25% to 42%. Meanwhile Santorum’s dropped 6 points from 43% to 37%, for an overall swing of 23 points in the last four weeks.

The UNIONISTAS would have had to have had the “Santorum” plan in effect back in March as ONLY registered party members can vote in that parties primary. Party affiliation changes must be made 30 days prior to the Primary, and I have seen no news accounts of massive party swings in registrants.
Romney's problem hasn't been liberal rhetoric. He's been great rhetorically on the free market system throughout the campaign. His problem is his record as Governor. But if I knew that I'd get campaign-rhetoric Romney, including this clip, I'd be thrilled. It's just that we can't be sure that's the guy we'd actually get.
It is also the Easter weekend. A devout Catholic family would NOT be out campaigning Holy Thursday evening, Good Friday or Easter Sunday.
Saw him bowling last night just down the street.

Newt’s been vying with Ron Paul for last place. oh and those cash infusions? Gone. Newt’s only hope was to play power broker in the case where neither Santorum nor Romney got a majority of delegates, but Newt himself doesnt have that many delegates.
Santorum was the only one in the past month who could catch Romney, but with wisconsin ... he can’t. Santorum’s wins in the south gave him life, but Wisconsin pretty much ended that glimmer. Now he’s making a stand in his home state.
So my prediction: I dont think Santorum will withdraw pre-PA nor should he. Keep fighting. But .. If Romney wins PA, Santorum will ‘do the right thing’ and withdraw, clearing the field for Romney and ensuring no convention fight.

The “point” of Santorum and Gingrich staying in is to keep Romney from having enough votes on the first ballot to win the nomination in convention. IF he doesn’t, it becomes open and another candidate “may” be picked. Probable not a conservative like Gingrich or Santorum, but something better than Romney. In that case either Rick or Newt may have the shot at VP.
Personally, I hope that both Rick and Newt stay in the whole way (at least until Romney has the “magic” number). Even a “remote” chance of being able to pick another candidate in convention is better than the “no hope” situation of Romney being the nominee.
Personally, I will NOT vote for Romney in a general election. I don’t see him as any better than Obama...in my world view. Thus, I will leave that portion of a ballot blank and only vote on the congress and senate. Many, many other normally dependable GOP voters feel just like I do. IF Romney is the nominee, he has already lost before the general election campaign begins. I can only hope the RNC gets that message....but fools seldom listen.
I am not convinced that mitt is a huge mistake.
He won’t use the word for fear he’ll lose votes. That tells me he’ll get rolled if he were to be elected. He claims to be different than the D.C. politicians. Actually his mindset is already there. He’ll be just like the crowd there now that puts their finger into the wind on every issue. He’ll be unable to change anything. It’s McCain II.
Santorum was up by two digits a couple of weeks ago. His lead over Romney is evaporating.

BS on that... check the polls... Obama has not, even in the biased media polls, cracked 50%. he is really about 5-10% behind what the salted polls say.
Obama has had the worst jobs record and the worst economic growth record in our lifetimes.
Obama is weak, desperate, and the thrill is gone.
Heck, we could even run a Mormon from Massachussetts with a Swiss bank account and he’d still win! (oh .... wait a sec)
Our President next January will be named Obama or Romney.
if you want to advance conservatives, get behind conservative candidates for Congress and Senate, by having them win key GOP primaries, there are MANY opptys. That’s where the action is.
If you can cast a vote for that abortion-lover and sodomite-panderer, then I suppose you will do it. But please don't tell me I must also sell my soul. I've been praying about this decision, and I believe I've had confirmation that supporting Romney would be a sin for which God would hold me responsible. After all, in the end, my responsibility is to Him before anything or anyone else.
I, too, refuse to vote for Romney. It only encourages the liberal wing of the Party to nominate someone even more liberal next time.
Social conservatives are left with no option this election cycle. Let the chips fall where they may.
#40 is good advice and I will be definitely voting Republican down-ticket.
My state is most likely solid Obama, though I suppose that could change.
With that in mind, I would like to give a “popularity boost” to a non-Romney Obama alternative (though not Ron Paul if he runs).
A couple of things might help - the selection of a conservative and telegenic VP candidate from a swing state, for one. The other might be a plan for vocal and visual demonstrations by conservatives at the convention itself to insist upon a conservative platform and to hold Romney's feet to the fire.
Beyond that, everyone on the Right is going to have to make up their own minds as to whether they can once again hold their noses and vote for RINOmney, or, alternatively decide that they've been "had" by the GOP for the last time. Personally, I've not made up my mind yet, even though I know in my heart that four more years of the Kenyan Kommie would be far worse than Mitt ever could be.
A 'few %' but does that account for a full reversal in 3 days? Not likely.

I disrespect each polling org equally, but PPP is a straight-up Dem affiliate and Debnam is quite capable of douchebaggery. This sort of childish thing aligns Dean with Zogby:
