Marco Rubio to Santorum and Gingrich: “It’s Time Now to Concede”
Shark Tank ^ | 4/5/12 | Javier Manjarres

Senator Marco Rubio made some bold statements regarding the Republican Presidential primary race, while attening one of his regional Senate office openings in Palm Beach county, Florida.

Rubio has openly endorsed Governor Mitt Romney in the race, and has said that he was not one to tell another candidate to drop out of a race, until now.

“I actually think we’re going to have a very good nominee. I think Mitt Romney’s going to be the next president of the United States. And by their own admission, the folks running against Mitt Romney have admitted that they cannot win the primary, that the only way they can win is a floor fight at the convention, which I think would set us back in terms of our goal of replacing Barack Obama.

“So I do believe it’s time now to concede that Mitt Romney has won the Republican nomination, that he’s going to be the Republican nominee, and that if we all get behind him he will be the next president of the United States.”

How cute; the establishments newest member is now telling Santorum to quit the race. Hey Marco, I know most conservative neophytes think your a conservative god, but you haven't exactly proven yourself yet. Keep going down the road your going and eventually you'll be booted out of office.

Shouldn’t he be telling us why we should allow illegals to leech off taxpayers some more?

It's all part of the GOP-E most recent plan to shut down the primaries and crown Romney as the nominee and loser-designate. Conservatives should shut up and get our asses in line now since our supposed TEA Party leaders (Haley, DeMint, Ryan, Rubio, etc.) are doing it.

That's what going on here.

Rubio tell Santorum to drop out

He tell he that, fo' shizzle?

Odd, I get the actual title as:

Marco Rubio to Santorum and Gingrich: “It’s Time Now to Concede”

How do you suppose the title got changed like that?

If this is the game the GOP plans on playing, the least they could do is man up and call off the rest of the primaries so all that money isn’t wasted.

I forgot the “s” in tells; otherwise, telling the 2 to concede is the same thing as telling them to drop out.

Why did you feel the need to change the real title?

Rubio: “Mr. Santorum, my new lover and master, Mitt has instructed me to tell you to please quit.”

I hate it when people change the titles. It means they want to hide something. Be honest.

That said, people should drop out when they are ready, not because a person tells them to.

This is the craziest primary that I can recall from the sixties until now.

The way it is being handle will create fewer votes for Romney than creating more for him IMO.

The media has done a pretty good job of hiding Romney’s gaffes and outright insults through the primary. I’m guessing they’ll be a lot more on the ball in the general election and every little screw up he makes will be headline news.

I speak as one of Rick Santorum’s “Insignificant” voters.

The fact is that you made up your own title.

Ask the mod. to change the title, or else pull the thread. By the way, do you work for NBC?

Marco had to take some precious time away from crafting his new DREAM (backdoor amnesty) Act to try to bully the last competitive conservative out of the GOP race. So many GOP establishment tasks, so little time.

Let us suppose, for the sake of argument, that I believed that Romney’s ride to the nomination was unstoppable. He would not have a Macaca moment, a strenuously buried past action would not. ome to light, a would-be assassin’s bullet doesn’t send him to a wheelchair. With all of that, I would still vote for a Santorum or Gingrich, as their DELEGATES are more likely to make for a better platform, and keep the prezsure on Romney. Moreover, we need rule changes for future elections, and I xo NOT trust Romney supporters to make them.

This leaves me with some confliction - I like Marco Rubio, and I think he will go far in Republican, and yes, CONSERVATIVE Republican circles in the future. He is articulate, smart, and ready to defend what he thinks is right. I do not object to his endorsement of Mitt Romney, as such an endorsement does sort of weight Mitt back to the center, or even a little to the right.

But I like Santorum as well, and while the former Senator has perhaps not done as well as I would have hoped in pursuit of delegate count, he has proceeded in a good and mostly honorable effort to rally voters to his point of view.

And that point of view, I have sincerely believed to be close to that of Marco Rubio. The presence of Santorum on the campaign trail has forced (and a little force HAS been needed) Mitt Romney to polish and defend his conservative credentials, a service badly needed in the upcoming confrontation with the incumbent.

Mitt, on his own, would have proven to be even less formidable in facing Obama, than even McCain. There are so many vulnerabilities that Barack Hussein Obama has, and without attempting to emphasize them, any Republican put up would be ground down in defeat. Santorum and Newt Gingrich have both compelled Mitt to at least acknowledge these vulnerabilities exist, and have given him some of the tools and rhetoric needed to exploit the weaknesses of the incumbent.

Now, what I want to know, is Mitt going to take the fight TO Obama, exposing his failures and demonstrated incompetence, or is he just going to pre-emptively surrender point after point, until the perception is left that Mitt is truly no different from Obama?
