Senator Marco Rubio made some bold statements regarding the Republican Presidential primary race, while attening one of his regional Senate office openings in Palm Beach county, Florida.
Rubio has openly endorsed Governor Mitt Romney in the race, and has said that he was not one to tell another candidate to drop out of a race, until now.
I actually think were going to have a very good nominee. I think Mitt Romneys going to be the next president of the United States. And by their own admission, the folks running against Mitt Romney have admitted that they cannot win the primary, that the only way they can win is a floor fight at the convention, which I think would set us back in terms of our goal of replacing Barack Obama.
So I do believe its time now to concede that Mitt Romney has won the Republican nomination, that hes going to be the Republican nominee, and that if we all get behind him he will be the next president of the United States.
Rubio, go back to your parents’ homeland...Cuba.
I am sure the Castro brothers can use you.
Used to like Marco. Used to like Coulter.
Now...not so much.
He is a freshman US Senator. What has he accomplished to make his opinion significant? The country has already been harmed greatly for promoting another freshman US Senator above his pay grade in 2008.
Perhaps we should insist politicians demonstrate real statesmanship and accomplish something meaningful, as well as be tested by fire, before elevating their status.
When this faux conservative Rubio runs again, I will support his primary challenger.
Time for a new edition of the Grim FReeper (Elio Gonzalez) picture: Marco and Mitt should be hugging in that closet.
Rubio sure did backstab the tea party!
Take a guess.
Everybody here loved them until they supported Romney. Don't they have a right to support the person they think can win? Newt doesn't have a prayer and Santorum isn't polling well in his home state. At what point do you all get it? The over-the-top Romney hatred is so out of control it's really ridciulous.
You know what it is? These faux conservatives are cooperating with the GOP-e and MSM in their efforts to FORCE a liberal candidate upon us. Maybe you don’t mind being stabbed in the back or being forced, but there are some of us who get a little steamed when it’s tried.
So we’re supposed to rally around a guy who only knows how to succeed by destroying others. Whether Bain Capital (ooh yeah, I’m hitting him on he faux capitalism) or his scorched earth campaigns, he can only rise by pummeling the opposition. Is that who we want for President? Someone vicious and dirty? Oh wait, we already have one of those so what’s the diff if we swap with another one?
No thanks!
And to think Rubio was elected as a Tea Party candidate.
I’m really ashamed of having voted for him. I didn’t realize at the time, of course, that his campaign had received money from Romney and I also didn’t know about his Mormon background.
I thought he was a regular conservative American of Cuban heritage. Guess I was wrong. The dollar-filled hand of Romney is behind this whole campaign.
I thought he was busy with his Dream Act. Nice of him to take time out and advise us.
Not when they claim to be Conservatives and TEA Party supporters, and then sell out to gun-grabbing, abortion-supporting, and gay-friendly Romney.
At what point do you all get it? The over-the-top Romney hatred is so out of control it's really ridciulous.
You can take that up with the boss...
Whatever. This is an awseome site and I wish candidates like Perry and Bachman would have had more support here than they did. Maybe we wouldn’t be stuck in the predicament we are in. Rick Perry certainly wasn’t a gun-grabbing, abortion-supporting, and gay-friendly candidate - but he apparently wasn’t good enough either. Good luck finding your 100 percenter.
It is looking more and more like time to concede the 2012 election to the incumbent. What a disaster!
We have a Communist Party and a new Democrat party...now we need a party to represent conservatives.
Not quite. Santorum, even if he lost most of the rest of the primaries by 5% or so would show how strong the not-Romney wing of the party is. Santorum might even have won in Wisconsin had the Establishment not succeeded in suckering enough stupid voters with the “it’s over” meme.
The “it’s over meme” plays into the hands of the elites. Still does. Will keep doing so all the way to Tampa.
It has to be resisted. Romney has to be reminded again and again and again how weak his support is. That’s the only hope of keeping him even a tad honest.
The elites have chosen to thumb their nose at the social conservatives. They know they can get away with it because of the monstrosity called Obama. All we’ve got left is “symbolic” voting for Santorum all the way to Tampa. It’s not much but it’s all we’ve got left.
We did this to ourselves. There was a time when Romney could have been stopped had we not been bitching at our own guy.
Stupid is as stupid does. Hucklerich.
“The elites have chosen to thumb their nose at the social conservatives.”
It’s more than Socially Conservatives, it’s Conservatives, I am more than Socially Conservative and Romney doesn’t meet any of my standards.
The vicious HATRED of Conservatives by mitt and his evil underlings have been well documented here and elsewhere.
The hatred and destruction of Conservatives by the mitt organization far exceeds any verbal expressions against mitt that are expressed here.
Definitely interesting. Hmmm...
