MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The federal government has warned Wisconsin officials the state's unemployment rate has improved enough to end extended jobless benefits.

Wisconsin's unemployment rate had been high enough to qualify jobless people in the state for 13 extra weeks of federal unemployment benefits. But the state's three-month average improved to 7 percent in February, making the state ineligible for the extra money.

They just told Washington State the same thing. It appears if your unemployment rate drops enough for the Administration to think the sheeple will forget the bad economy, then federal extensions end.

The left in Wisconsin seem very stupid to me. If the people think getting rid of Walker will help them, they have another thing coming. Large lay-offs hang in the balance on this vote for those currently employed by the state.

Expect a lot of good employment news from the commies in the months leading up the the “election”. Nothing but “good news”! Barry’s union thugs and their toadies in the state run MSM will make sure of it.

This is also happening in Washington state.

There are two kinds of emergency extensions.

The second kind, I forget the name, can take you out to 99 weeks.

No new applicants for that.

But, people currently on it stay on until January 2013, or before that date, if their benefit period expires.

“Emergency Unemployment Compensation” (EUC) is still available in Washington.

I think that lasts an extra 26 weeks.

EUC will still accept new applicants, but everyone will get phased out by January 2013, no matter what.

The old fashioned, regular 26 weeks of UC is still available to everyone.

The federal government’s multiple extension of unemployment benefits is a big part of the problem. Without the benefits, laid off workers are more likely to accept employment at a place of last resort such as a poultry processing plant.

New York State doesn’t get extended benefits, but then there’s a trick, NY only pays a maximum of $405 per week unemployment -while New Jersey and Mass pay $615-630 per week.

It’s NY’s dirty little secret of perceived prosperity. It helps NY maintain better stats while sinking ever lower and faster. People on the revolving unemployment lifestyle collect across the boarder.

And this is a bad thing? Probably the most sensible policy I've seen from this administration.

So Walker has IMPROVED the WI economy to the degree that more people don’t NEED unemployment $. And this is a BAD thing? Shouldn’t the WH be celebrating Obama’s policies WORKING?
