Tyler Perry Pulled Over, Says Racial Profiling
Reuters ^ | April 5th, 2012 | Andrew Chow

Posted on 04/06/2012 7:18:52 AM PDT by And2TheRepublic

Tyler Perry's April 1 Facebook post about police pulling him over was no April Fool's joke: The highest-paid man in entertainment is accusing a pair of white Atlanta police officers of racial profiling. Four days later, Perry's post boasts more than 117,000 "likes," 21,000 comments, and 12,000 shares. Atlanta police have launched an internal investigation, E! News reports. Perry's predicament began when he admittedly made a left turn from a far-right lane -- a trick his security detail taught him, to make sure he wasn't being followed, Perry explained on Facebook. Two white Atlanta police officers pulled him over, but apparently did not realize they'd just stopped Tyler Perry.

When Perry explained his illegal turn was to make sure no one was tailing him, one officer allegedly asked, "Why do you think someone would be following you?" Perry said in his post. Before Perry could answer, the second white officer started "banging" on his passenger's side window -- apparently taking issue with the window's tint, Perry told his fans. As both officers "badgered" Perry about why he thought someone may be following him, Perry said he recalled his mother's advice: "My mother would always say to me, 'if you get stopped by the police, especially if they are white policemen, you say 'yes sir' and 'no sir', and if they want to take you in, you go with them. Don't resist, you hear me? Don't make any quick moves, don't run, you just go.'" But then a second police cruiser pulled up, and a black Atlanta policeman emerged. "He took one look at me and had that 'Oh No' look on his face," Perry recounted. The black officer spoke "in a hushed tone" to the two white officers, Perry said. "After that, one of the officers stayed near his car while one came back, very apologetic." Perry was released, but news reports do not indicate whether he was cited for his illegal left turn or tinted windows. Georgia law requires drivers to approach a left turn from "the extreme left-hand lane" of a multi-lane road, Georgia Public Broadcasting reports.

He admitted that he made an illegal move but he was pulled over just for being black. Yeah right.

Sounds like he was more upset that the white cops didn’t know who he was.

Forget the fact that he made an illegal turn and most likely had an illegal tint on his car.

Giving excuses for breaking the law is never a good defense when being pulled over either.

So, Tyler Perry is immune from traffic laws?? Don’t try it drivers. I was once a passenger in a six lane highway driving in the extreme right lane. The driver waited for the green signal and cut across three right lanes and three left lanes of moving traffic. She was from NY City. We somehow made it, but when she wanted to use our car at a later date my husband said yes, but I said “No,” and told him how she drives. That changed his mind.

As soon as the cops realized he was one of Eric Holder’s people they were supposed to apologize and tell him to make as many illegal U-turns as he pleased.

So according to Perry when they thought he had broken the law he was questioned but when they found out he is rich they let him go. Isn’t this more about the rich being treated differently than race?

Oh, by the way, how can cops profile a driver’s race through dark tinted windows?

Secondly, how can he claim racial profiling when he’s behind dark tinted windows and does something wrong? The cops saw a car do something against the law and they pulled him over. Playing the race card again.

I never heard of Tyler Perry, either, nor did I know that a lot of money protects you from traffic tickets. (I always thought that expensive sports cars had the opposite effect on the police.)

Exactly.

He wants it both ways. Cops saw him make an illegal turn in a car so tinted the cops couldn’t see who was inside.

I’ve actually never seen any of his movies, but I did know who he was based on his fame.

Now I know who he is based on his character.

You obviously don’t understand. The windows were tinted DARK, and that’s why the white police officers pulled him over. His position, no doubt, is that if his windows had been solid white, he would not have been pulled over for the illegal left turn.

“Giving excuses for breaking the law is never a good defense when being pulled over either.”

Wait just a darn minute.

Assuming the officer did ask why he made the illegal turn, and Perry did answer something along the lines of “to ditch anybody who might be following me”, and the ossifer followed up with “Why do you think someone would be following you?”; how is that exchange of questions and answers “Giving excuses for breaking the law”?

I just read the story. There is NO evidence of racial profiling. That said, there is clear evidence of “famous person” profiling in their later apologetic attitude.

If I were driving in a car with possibly too dark windows and made a turn like he did, I’d expect at least a stern warning “with attitude” from the cops, and I’m white. I’d probably get a ticket if I were under 30. If I was a jerk, they’d probably wright me up for the tint too.

IF the cops were behind him and his tinting was so dark then how did the cops know he was black?

He got pulled over because he made a illegal left hand turn, just like you or I would. When he gave his excuse as to why he did it of course it flew up a red flag to the cops, just like it would if we said it.

Perpetual victim and race baiter doing nothing more than stirring up problems. A redneck in a rusted pickup truck doing the same thing would have gotten the same questions and treatment, but not had a black cop come up and demand he be treated differently.

So, here’s what seems to be going on.....racist black liberals have been waiting for YEARS for something like the Trayvon case to come about, so that they can insist that they continue to be persecuted with racism by THE MAN in this day and age. Of course, it turns out to be a big facepalm, as Zimmerman is Hispanic, is an Obama-supporting Democrat, had defended a black man in a previous police brutality case, did not make a racial slur on the 911 call, and was acting in self defense.

OOPS!

So, now, all of a sudden, EVERYTHING bad that happens to a racist black liberal is RACIST. In this Tyler Perry case, there was absolutely no hint of racism, as he did break the law, but he will call it racist.

This is what the goal of the racist black liberals are:

— If you commit a crime, you can not get arrested, because you are black.

— If you suck at your job, you can not get fired because you are black.

— If you have no qualifications, you still must be hired, because you are black.

— If you are a D student, you still must get admitted to college because you are black.

— If you have no talent, you still must get that Oscar, because you are black.

Those rational among us will consider this racist to the extreme, but to the racist black liberal, this is justice.

And this, is the America that the demon in the white house has sprialled us down to. Just like Marion Barry in DC wanting to get rid of entrepreneurial hard working Asians, we will not aspire to greatness and achievement, but instead wallow in mediocrity because of the liberal need to be politically correct.

Happy now RACIST STUPID LIBERALS?
