The Department of Homeland Security has made news in the past few weeks with the revelations that they have purchased up to 650 million rounds of .40 caliber hollow point ammunition.
Now, despite ignoring requests as to why they need that much ammo, they have moved forward and purchased an unknown amount of bullet resistant booths to possibly be stationed at unannounced checkpoints throughout the country.

What Good Can a Handgun Do Against An Army?

Thank heavens we have DHS to protect us all! </sarcasm>
I’m not so worried about it. If a bunch of JBT’s show up on our local roads to impose a dictatorship they’ll last about a day. Probably less.
I also have faith in our military to mobilize and put these mutts down.
LOL
It’s tracked and quite well.
Funny thing, I have the same calibers they have...

The official auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force is Civil Air Patrol...
Care to guess what DoD-funded organization has become increasingly tied to (and tasked by) DHS and FEMA?

This novel was alarmingly too real....

ENEMIES FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC is about one of the several fault lines dividing the world views that co-exist uneasily within the United States today. One side of this ideological divide believes that American gun rights are a dangerous anachronism, and that firearms ownership should be strictly regulated, and as far as possible curtailed by the government. This side of American society desires to see all firearms registered with the government, and many classes of firearms banned.
It would be like Christmas to open the back of a blacked-out Suburban and find a few crates of .40 cal.
Having numerous family members, close friends, and neighbors who are in law enforcement on the local, state, and federal levels, I don’t worry too much about a bunch of agents with guns.
I hunt with my cousin, a seasoned AF MP, and she’s assured me that the majority of federal grunts couldn’t hit the broadside of a barn. Your run-of-the-mill hunters, plinkers, and most American gun owners would run out even the most tenured DHS grunt.
No self-respecting former military man or woman would participate in the bullying or killing of Americans. Every last military man and woman with whom I’ve discussed this issue has said the same. Obama’s “army” (small A) will be a bunch of ignorant thugs.
Ping to a Police State thread!
Written by our very own Travis McGee!
The faster these idiots break things, the faster American patriots can step forward to put this great nation back on the right track.
Everyone should consider that this is a
“contract to buy up to X rounds”.
It is not “they have purchased X rounds”.
I hope you are right. . .

But not illegal voters.
Which is more dangerous and oppresive?
In my opinion. illegal voters (dead, repeat voters and non-citizens.)
High tech version of ;
‘FISH IN A BARREL’
I'm dubious that that would happen. Take a look at Lt Col Lakin and the guy who is currently bring processed for a General Discharge because he questioned 0bama's eligibility. I'm afraid that most would be good little soldiers and just go along.
Can’t help but wonder how that would stand up to an F-750 with a brick on the accelerator.
(my money is on the Ford)
Bullet resistant, huh? Neat. I wonder if it’s fireproof.
“F-750 with a brick on the accelerator.”
Irresistible Force, Immovable Object, Boom!

How does Level 3 Bullet Resistant Glass perform against, say, a .338 Lapua?
Don’t forget what happened at Ruby Ridge and Waco. I would not have thought that US Fed LEOs would be willing to do what they did, and with no remorse.
Most active duty wouldn’t either, but some would. How many would it take?
Really? Do you think human nature is any different in the USA than anywhere else in the world? History is full of examples of government police and military murdering millions of their own citizens. I can't think of a single instance where the police or military said "No, we're not going to round up Jews, middle class cambodians, etc." When David Dinkins outlawed semiautos in NYC there were no reports of any police refusing to arrest the "criminals" who kept their guns. In NO the police rounded up citizens' firearms. Not one report of any refusing to do so.
Don't count on any branch of the government at any level helping you out.
Good grief not this crap again. Last week it was 450 million rounds. Next week it will be a billion rounds. I hate to burst the bubble of the civil war II lobby here at FR but the ammo purchase is going to be used for required pistol certification. There is nothing nefarious about the ammo order and same goes for the tac gear.
Begs the question, what else has the DHS been purchasing to arm Obama’s CDC army?
Or, to back DHS up if need be.
If there are 5,000 DHS employees to certify, that means there are 90,000 rounds for each...
If there are 50,000 DHS employees to certify, that means
there are 9,000 rounds each...
GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have had this bookmarked for almost as long as I have been on this site. 14 years.
I think DHS and the government should have ordered a trillion rounds.
Just look how many shootouts DHS is involved in. Bet their running out of ammo as we type.
Oh, "Homeland Security" needs 450,000,000 rounds for target practice, as tens of millions enter the country illegally, during war time yet.
I hope they don't actually hit anyone while practicing at the range.
Perhaps they will be positioned at regular intervals along the Mexican border to show how serious The One is about illegal immigration./sarc.
My thoughts exactly ! 8*> Have a friend who made a trebuchat type catapult as a hobby project . He wight want to start working on what is called a “Ballista “ a sort of giant crossbow that are capable of launching bowling balls hundreds of feet . Might it also be used to launch 5 gallon bucket sized molotov’s ?
Wonder how that bullet proofing will hold up against a Ballista type catapult launched 5 gallon bucket of petroleum products?
I was going to say a beer truck.
A Billion rounds?
WTF do they need all that for?
;o)
Chuck Norris
“I’m afraid that most would be good little soldiers and just go along.”
And at their eventual trials we’ll cite the precedent at Nurmeburg and tell them that ‘following orders’ is not a defense.
And then we’ll give them a nice hanging.
5k employees in DHS?? You clearly have no idea what you are talking about. DHS has nearly 200K employees. There are 20k armed officers just in the Border Patrol and another 20k armed officers in the rest of CBP and then there are an additional 20 agencies. Every armed officer has to qualify quarterly. An average of 100 rounds are used in qualification. That is at least 16 million rounds a year just for the required certs just for the agencies I mentioned. The ammo is supposed to last least five years. Try doing some research before getting youself worked up into a frenzy.

When was the last time DHS was even involved in a shoot out?
BTW, if Homeland Security has so many employees, why in tarnation is our *Homeland* overrun with tens of millions of illegal aliens, during war time?
I agree, but to get to war crimes trials, you have to win.
I wonder how well it will hold up to .308 or 762X54R AP ammo. Considering how many Mosins have been sold in the US over the last 10 years.
