Walker on faith, his family, recall and unions (WI)
JS Online ^ | 4-6-12 | Don Walker

In a lengthy television interview with the political correspondent for Christian Broadcasting News, a calm but determined Gov. Scott Walker talked openly about his faith, his determination not to lose the recall election set for June, his views on unions, and what he would have done differently in the winter of 2011 regarding changes to collective bargaining.

Asked about his faith and the effect of months of turmoil in Madison on his family, Walker said they relied on prayer.

"We realize that all this is just a temporary thing and God's got a plan for us that, who knows where it might be, beyond just serving as governor of this state, but if we stay true to that, there's always comfort," he said. "And God's grace is always abundant no matter what you do."

The interview with David Brody, host of the "The Brody File Show" produced by CBN, took place Sunday at the governor's mansion in Madison. Clips of the interview, which became available Thursday, immediately generated interest because they offered a somewhat unusual window into the governor's feelings about his faith and how it intersected with his tumultuous tenure and the efforts to remove him.

On faith

Walker said Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch asked him recently if he thought he was living his faith strong enough. Walker said he told her it was not just about quoting Scripture.

"It's on how you live," Walker said.

Brody said Thursday that he was in Wisconsin to report on the presidential primary when he asked Walker's staff for an interview.

"I was struck how calm and peaceful he was," Brody said Thursday of the interview. "When we knocked on the door of the mansion, the governor answered it."

Walker, and the governor of Puerto Rico, are the kind of men we need in the White Hut! (I renamed it after Bozo occupied it.)
