Does Romney have a 14-Million-Man Army ready for General Election? (Vanity)
April 6, 2011 | no dems

Another FReeper, in another posted comment, just this week, stated that his Mormon neighbor was obsessed with getting a Mormon, Mitt Romney, elected President of the United States. That statement has "stuck in my craw" ever since I read it; which begs to question:

If Mitt Romney is the GOP Nominee for POTUS, will the 14 million Mormons in the U.S. mobilize for him during the General Election? Hmmmmm....... Just wondering. The Mormon Church not only has a lot of "foot soldiers", but they know how to "mobilize". They've done it for decades.

Do not underestimate RINO-Rom in the GE. He's hungry. He's been running for the White House for 6 years. He, and the LDS Church have mega bucks. The Marriott Hotel Chain, for example, is a Mormon corporation; just to name one. And, the Primary season proved he will stoop to anything to win. Unlike McCain, he just might be capable of getting as "down and dirty" as the DemocRATS. And, I must say, it's kinda refreshing to see a Pubbie who will not bend over for the street-wise Dems like most Republicans do. Maybe there are some 'nads inside the "Magic Underwear".

When I say “morality over money”.... we’re talking issues like abortion and same-sex marriage being more important to me than Entitlements. We’re not sure how Consevatively moral Romney is, but we know how Liberally immoral B. Hussein Obama is. He is the most despicable person to ever occupy the Oval Office. And, I say again: I’d vote for a 3-legged, one-eyed, sh** eating dog before I’d vote for Obama. And, a “non-vote” or Third Party vote is a vote for Obama.

You seem to have forgotten what cultishness Obama had in 2008:

If Romney's Mormon faith can mobilize a huge GOTV effort by 14 million Mormons for Republicans, we should welcome it.

Everything must be left on the field, not the sidelines if Obama's to be denied a second term.

And, help put an equal disgrace in that will set back the conservative movement at least decade. Brilliant!
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

First of all, the “Conservative Movement” doesn’t need any friggin’ help being “set back”. We do well enough ourselves without any help. Where are the “good” Conservative candidates? Where the hell is Sarah Palin, Jim DeMint, Paul Ryan.....? Huh? No, We got stuck with a bunch of losers, AGAIN, who have now been winnowed down to “Kook-Daddy” and the Three Stooges.

So, you think Romney is as equally disgraceful as Obama? If you really believe that you are either just ignorant or delusional. I choose to think it’s the former. So, IF YOU WOULD NOT MAKE STATEMENTS LIKE THAT, PEOPLE WOULDN’T KNOW JUST HOW IGNORANT YOU REALLY ARE.

You believe that and you're going to vote for the father of gay marriage? Someone that was rabidly pro-abortion in the state of Massachusetts? Someone that attended Planned Parenthood fundraisers? Someone that, as CEO of the Olympic committee in 2002 sought to discriminate against the Boy Scouts because they wouldn't allow homosexual scoutmasters? Someone that put homosexual activist lawyers on courts in Massachusetts?

You're going to be voting for someone whose goal is to eliminate social conservatism from the GOP platform?

Wake up!

Thanks for bringing me back to re-read the comments on this thread.

Count me out, thanks.

In that case, all 14 million of them can vote for him. He’s sure not getting me.

Well then, stay home or vote Third Party. Nobody gives a sh** what you do.

You didn’t need to tell us to do that; we did already. Now, go on over to the DU with the other B. Hussein Obama supporters and Marxist Muslims.

Well Mr. WillamofCarmichael ... I am a Mormon and spent 2 years as a missionary in South Africa and Zimbabwe ..... I have taught hundreds of Blacks ...

....and frankly I have no Idea what “racism” your talking about!

.... sorry I guess I just taught LDS (Christ’s) Doctrine and not your anti-mormon slander of what you think that the LDS church believes.

.... On second thought you may want to switch your news coverage to NBC .... they love to paint racism where it doesn’t fit just like you do!

I am not voting for Romney because he is 2-legged, sh** eating dog.

And, I say again: I’d vote for a 3-legged, one-eyed, sh** eating dog before I’d vote for Obama.

Even though a Romney victory would effectively cause the extinction of the conservative wing of the Republican Party? If Romney wins the general election, all you will hear for the next 4-5 Presidential election cycles is that "we have to run a moderate to win" using the Romney victory as evidence. That is not a price I'm willing to pay for the small improvement of replacing Obama with Romney.

And, a “non-vote” or Third Party vote is a vote for Obama.

Enough of this sophistry! Any conservative in a solidly red or blue state can vote their conscience without having any effect on the outcome. My state is so red that if Romney needs my vote to win, he is on the bad end of a historical landslide.

We? Are you kidding?

You may not know but we KNOW Romney is not now or has he ever been conservative.

The last bastion of a person who finds themselves on the losing end of a discussion, ad hominems. Interestingly enough, it was played just like a petulant and peurile pro-Romney sycophant.

You would try and force me and others to compromise our conservative values and principles to support a known; pro-abort, anti-2nd Amendment, big government, so-called Republican via the liberal tactic of using ad-hominems?

I think not, you have more work ahead of you if you think principled people are going to be cowed by your lame attempts to denigrate otherwise right thinking people.

A Romney presidency will do more to destroy conservatism in this country (and any conservative Republicans) than 0bama and his minions could ever hope to do.

As to your “direction”, I’ll leave you little Romney love birds to your RINO lovefest. Kissy, kissy.

“My state is so red that if Romney needs my vote to win, he is on the bad end of a historical landslide.”

He may well be. I think he will lose some southern states that would have supported ANY of the other GOP candidates.
