Skip to comments.Chaffetz: White House blocking access to ‘Fast and Furious’ witness who wants to testify

Utah Republican Rep. Jason Chaffetz told the Fox News Channels Megyn Kelly on Friday that although a key White House witness in the ill-fated Operation Fast and Furious gun-walking program is willing to testify about what he knows, the Obama administration wont let him appear before Congress.
White House Counsel Kathryn Ruemmler sent a letter Thursday to Republican lawmakers Rep. Darrell Issa and Sen. Chuck Grassley, refusing their request to speak with Kevin OReilly, a former National Security staff member whose emails place him in the middle of the unfolding scandal. Issa and Grassley had written to Ruemmler on March 28, asking the White House to step aside and let OReilly talk to investigators.
Grassley is the GOP ranking member on the Senate Judiciary Committee. Issa chairs the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, whose members include Chaffetz.
[OReillys] personal attorney indicated that hes more than willing to talk to the committee, on the record, under oath Chaffetz told Kelly during her Friday afternoon broadcast. It is only the White House and the White House Counsel that is saying they will not make him available. (RELATED: Full coverage of Operation Fast and Furious)

Might as well be. Obama sent him to IRAQ.
Oh, the poor guy is still in Iraq; I didn’t click the link to read the whole article. I miss the days when whole articles could be posted on FR.
Sheesh, O’Reilly should be given some kind of special protection and brought back from Iraq.
OR witness protection program.
Excuse me but Hussein doesn't have any say over Congress. Just invite all of Congress over for lunch and then run his mouth very loudly. Everything he knows would be fast as a bunny.
This is stupid, hasn’t anyone heard of video conferencing?
I don't think the US Marshals jurisdiction extents to the Middle East.
They certainly operate internationally as they are the designated agency for repatriating fugitives being extradited back to the US. Whether that extends to apprehending US citizens overseas is unclear from their website.
Problem for Obama and Holder:
They cannot prevent O’Reilly from testifying by claiming “executive priviledge” since they both denied ever knowing about F&F.
EP doesn’t apply.
Catch 22, a classic double-bind.
The alligators are escaping from the moat around Buckwheat’s castle, and the racist traitor Holder is looking for a port in Africa to escape the hangman’s noose.
Most transparent administration ever! ROTFLOL
This is the Republican’s fault.
They have had MUCH to start impeachment proceedings (F&F and Libya are just two) and yet they just dick around.
