Skip to comments.Lisa Murkowski to her fellow Republicans: It makes no sense to make this attack on women
Posted on 04/06/2012 8:47:28 PM PDT by Belteshazzar
WOW. Look, I respect that Alaska Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski values her moderate reputation, that shes a kind person who seeks to facilitate conversation across the aisle, that she doesnt want to offend her friends who are Democrats, but cmon. Shes going to provide cover for Democratic rhetoric that Republicans are waging a war on women? Oh, Im sorry, excuse me. Murkowski didnt say Republicans are waging a war. She said theyre making an attack. Honestly, I cant even figure out who shes pandering to, other than to Democrats. From HuffPo:
It makes no sense to make this attack on women, she said at a local Chamber of Commerce luncheon, according to theHomer News. If you dont feel this is an attack, you need to go home and talk to your wife and your daughters. She also said that she would continue to support funding for Planned Parenthood, adding that the courts have affirmed a legal right to an abortion and she stands by that.
Murkowski, however, voted for the failed Blunt Amendment last month along with all but one Republican, which would have allowed employers to refuse to cover contraception or any other health service for moral reasons. She later said she regretted her vote and wouldnt do it again if she had the chance.

Which “attack on women” is that Lisa? The one you and your commie ‘RAT friends have created with the help of the commie lowlifes in Barry’s state run “media”?
Wasn’t there some shenanigans done by her in her last election campaign?
“talk to your wife and your daughters.”
This wife and daughter thought it was stinkin’ hilarious.
Isn’t a female Rino a cow?
She’s pandering to the Democrats who elected her. She should have respected the outcome of the primary and supported Joe Miller.
As soon as someone knows what attack this progressive kook is talking about, please let me know.
Lisa Murcowski is a Republican?
She was the needle that broke the camel’s back in the TEA party takeover in 2010. The Senate Re-election parasites schooled her to run Independent to bury Joe Miller, with the promise they’d take her back into the fold after her ‘independent’ bid which used extreme voter fraud to get AK RATS to GOTV to keep her seat.
As with all the Obama outrages, the GOP runs a lemon cream pie as candidate against him. Obama hands them issues on a plate and the GOP lets him blow it off with nonsense.
Example, the birth control and abortion mandate for all employers who purchase health insurance for employees, even religious institutions that have a valid religious objection against these baby-killing measures.
The Catholics and other major faiths object and Obama uses disinformation to spin it into a war against his liberal women base. It is not a war against women as all these measures are freely available outside any particular employers health plan. What is ignored is the First Amendment stating no religion shall be harassed by government with taxes or acts to the extent that religions faith is required to caste aside its beliefs. This is a major attack on religion. Meanwhile, all our candidates but Gingrich fell into the trap.
Ahh, the desperate need to have the Statists love us. So much so that she feels compelled to apologize to the left, for a vote to prevent a person from being forced by the police power of the state to directly pay for things that the victim of the coercion finds immoral.
The irony is that I’m sure Murkowski would be outraged if the government was using force to compell liberal citizens to pay for my subscription to the Limbaugh letter.
It just boggles the mind. What kind of a country to we live in, where voting to not force people to buy something for other people, when they have never been forced to buy this thing before, is now considered an attack on the would-be recepiant of the new transfer of wealth. Men should demand employers be forced to cover hair loss treatment and any hesitation to buy my Propecia, should be decried as an attack on men everywhere.
Definition of a true RINO = senator Murkowski from AK!

The Republican Party, the American Catholic Church, the U.S. Government, the American People. . . there is absolutely nothing to believe in anymore!
It seems that Bill Maher got the wrong Alaskan woman when he droped the, ‘c’ bomb.
+1 on that!
I saw the headline and thought Murcowski was mad about RINO attacks on Palin and Bachman. But then I remembered that she’s one of the RINOs. She must still be bitter.
Each night, Nancy Grace documents the causalities in the DNC’s war on women and children.
She won as a write-in candidate after losing in the primary to conservative Joe Miller.
More then a RINO, not even Republican in name!
I say she becomes an Arlen Specter when it best suits her. She has the character and ethics down cold.
Murkowski - “See, I told you so!!!!!!”
What is this “attack” on women she is speaking of?
Ironically, the wives are murdering the daughters via abortion.
Nuff said on the matter.
I prefer a RAT over a RINO - RATS don’t stab you from behind.
I was holding the same thought as I tried to remember when I first started hearing the accusations of "attack on women".
Try as I may, I can't recall a concentrated effort to hang the "attack on women" accusation on the Republicans until after the fateful broadcast, which I listened to in disbelief, by Rush Limbaugh.
Yes, Rush Limbaugh handed the Liberals the "attack on women" issue on a silver platter when he so crudely attacked Sandra Fluke. It couldn't have been better scripted by Obama's psy-ops people. That was a day Rush should have stayed in bed..............unless.............he did it on purpose to help destroy the GOP-e.
She’s in the Rovian Repub category along with Spector and other crappy statist.
Ugh. Joe Miller would have made an awesome senator.
I prefer RINO’s over RAT’s.
The Rats have cost me way too much punishment in taxes.
Soon to move up to #2 on the Senate RINO list.
That is unless you think she’s #1.
