I agree 100%. The Africans I’ve met in the U.S. are just regular folks trying to better themselves via the American dream, be they airport shuttle bus drivers or bank tellers or restauranteurs. It’s kind of odd actually. Especially for native English speakers from Africa, I don’t think of native Africans as “black” or “African-American”; there’s no racial thought process involved for me because the native Africans themselves are not racist, nor do they behave in a racial matter in any fashion. It now seems to me that most of the racist social behavior involved with American-born Blacks who chose to make racism an issue is because they are the one who behave in a racist fashion. Racism is thus mostly not a matter of skin color, but mostly a matter of mindset.
