With the twin spires of the Islamic Center of America in the background, the Rev. Terry Jones praised Christianity and condemned Islam, calling it “of the devil.”
“Mohammad was a liar, a pedophile and a false prophet,” Jones said.
“I believe that as a Christian. But as an American who believes in the constitution I believe they have the right to practice their beliefs under the freedom of religion.”
Jones — who is on his fourth trip to Dearborn to preach about the dangers of Islam and its agenda of imposing Sharia law on America — also called for a worldwide burning of the Koran on April 28 if an imprisoned pastor in Iran isn’t freed from a death sentence after converting from Islam to Christianity.
“I’m asking the imam of the Islamic Center here in Dearborn to work with me to free Minister Youcef,” said Jones, of Youcef Nadarkhani, currently facing death for preaching Christianity in Iran.
“If he isn’t freed, I will ask the world to burn the Koran in protest starting at 5 p.m. on April 28th in Gainesville, Fla.”
At least 30 of Jones’ supporters — some of them openly carrying weapons on their belts as did Jones — shouted an occasional “amen” or “preach it” as Jones spoke.
The controversial pastor denied accusations that he is a racist.
“Not true,” he said. “Islam is a religion, not a race. I am not a racist.”
Jones said that not all Muslims are radicals.
“I believe the majority of the people who attend this mosque behind me believe in the constitution,” Jones said.

Islam is not a religion. It is a political ideology based on violence, hatred and ignorance. It is the most dangerous political ideology in the world right now, and we are stupid enough to let millions of its adherents set up shop within our borders. The Muslims all should be sent back to whatever hell hole they crawled out of.

There is something off with this dude. I am not jumping on to any of his comments at this point. He seems unreliable to me right now.

I hate the muslims as much as the next guy. They are filthy animals. I just don’t like this guys media savvy attitude. There is something I don’t trust about him.
It’s easy to say these things through the anonymity of the internet but this guy is saying them in public. He’d better be well armed all the time, not just at public meetings.

I agree, he is the worst sort of media whore. He is not really interested in helping the Iranian pastor. He is probably hoping if they kill the Iranian this will up the ante. Now this guy will incite violence by threatening to burn the Mohammedian book of superstition. He will be in his safe, comfortable home while some U.S. Or Coalition troops get killed over this. You don’t back down to the Muslims or pretend to revere their book, like the liberals do. Muslims need no incitement. They will find something to be offended about no matter how much you crawl to them. I have met individual non-Muslims that are the same way, but Islam is like a hot-house of the breed.
That being so, defiance to their sensibilities is the most logical and effective course.

Jones is taking it to the heart of Islam in America - right here in my sorry state of Michigan where the pols have given aid and comfort to the radical muslims for at least the past 50 years, but have really stepped it up in the last 20. How dare you or anyone question whether he cares about persecution of any Christian convert in Muslim lands? This is coming to a neighborhood near you right here in America due to the lack of speaking the true Gospel. Does Jones speak the Gospel anywhere in his message to the Muslims? Or is it just a warning that the Enemy is upon us? If it is just the latter, then Jones’ message is incomplete.
The only reason our troops suffer from the free exercise of speech in America is because of the inexcusable rules of engagement over there that put them at daily risk no matter what the provocation (if any) occurs.
