Sincerely, R.I.P. Mike Wallace, but I can't get that image out of my mind: just Wallace, the cameraman, the cameraman's shadow on the sidewalk, the Gates of Heaven, St. Peter... Man, what I wouldn't give to see that.
Condolensces to the family. Chris Wallace strikes me as a decent enough guy, his politics may be different than mine, certainly his dad’s were.
But even with that, I’d feel uncomfortable coming onto a thread and making some of the comments I read here.

As for Wallace, he was the first newscaster I ever saw on a black and white TV, doing morning or noon news updates for CBS. He was exceptional, one of the best I ever saw. Frank Reynolds of ABC was my favorite, never ideological. Wallace was every bit as good, but he followed Uncle Walter and Cousin Dan towards the far left and became a journalistic toady and fellow traveler. That is as kind as I can be. RIP.

Let's be clear. No one would have ever heard of Mike Wallace if he had not produced a product that found customers.
