April 8, 2012 Gingrich All But Concedes Race to Romney
By Nathan Hodge
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who once led the polls in the race for the Republican presidential nomination, all but conceded the race Sunday to his rival, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.
In an interview with Fox News Sunday, Mr. Gingrich called Mr. Romney far and away the most likely Republican nominee, adding that he would throw his support behind the front-runner if Mr. Romney secured the required delegates for the nomination.
If I end up not being the nominee, I have already talked to Chairman Reince Priebus at the Republican National Committee, he said. Id want to work this fall to help defeat [President Barack] Obama any way I could. Whatever the team thinks I can do to be helpful, I would do.
Both Mr. Gingrich and Mr. Romney hit each other hard during the primary race. It turned out he had more things to hit with than I did, Mr. Gingrich said. And thats part of the business.
But while acknowledging Mr. Romneys likely nomination, Mr. Gingrich said he would stay in the race to influence Republican thinking on issues from U.S. energy independence to revamping Social Security.
Platforms matter in the long run in the evolution of the party, he said. And the party is more than just a presidential candidate. Its Senate candidates, House candidates, state legislators.
Mr. Gingrichs comments come as Rick Santorum, Mr. Romneys strongest remaining opponent, canceled campaign events on Monday after his youngest daughter, who has a genetic disorder, was hospitalized.

That is NOT what happened.
FOX-BAIN “News” used the RINO Hume to PIMP
Romney because of long standing hatred
between Hume and the Speaker.
RINO Hume showed his hatred and Romney fixation.
Drudge is an accomplice.
Was there also a musically inclined overweight female on Fox News Sunday?
Sounds like a good patriot.
He ran as hard as he could, but is now willing to be helpful in developing policy and unseating Obama.
The race for Nomination is NOT over.
Even with the endless and ubiquitous CHEATING
by RINO Romney the Premier backstabber.
Just watched the interview a while ago. Hume just can’t conceal his feelings for Newt. It was uncomfortable to see.
Much like Sarah Palin. Both would rather have somebody else be the nominee but ultimately they know that defeating Obama is the top priority.
You’re right, the race is not over, but the remainder would have to be pretty much united behind somebody else and Gingrich and Santorum are both almost out of money.
On the plus side, the debt limit is hitting the wall in August-September.
The problem is people just are not that interested in any of the remaining candidates...and that’s not good.
They are both the best sort of patriots.
I wish the debt limit was the issue in voters minds that it should be. Unfortunately if you bring it up most voters eyes cloud over and they start thinking about what’s for dinner that night.
I know. Romney has so many flaws that this is going to be easy for the Democrats. The Democrats are going to be running the “flaw of the week”.
The numbers are beyond comprehension for most people.
A trillion equals a quadrillion in most people’s minds.
Now didn't McCain also cancel his run.. for whatever reason... and although leading... he LOST.
Better now than latter... why have we run such wimps?
Palin is the only alternative for us to Mittly and the country would fall in to support her if she would run. If you have netflix and have not seen The Undefeated take take the time and see it.
She is who we need running against obama, Mittly is a sure loser and we can not afford that. So we have NO more options right now. If efforts were put with her we would win. The country does not want O any more and we have NO options beyond her.
I’d like to think the media would make it an issue...
Everything that the GOP could have had against Obama
is GONE with the RINO SOB Romney.
ObamaCARE.
Ineligibility.
Support for TARP and Sharia.
Incompetent governing (Romney sacked Mass.)
Corrupt (Romney covered up the BIG DIG)
Excessive taxers (Romney calls them “fees”)
Destroyers of Constitutions (Romney overrode
the Mass. Constitution to impose Romney-Gay-Marriage.
What is left?
Umm,..., Romney has nice hair?
Romney and Republicans in Congress should make it an issue, a big issue, talk about 24/7 during the elections campaign.
The Dems and media would try and make it look like the Republicans are somehow responsible and the general public would not question this assertion.
Palin tested her chances on her national bus ride and didn’t like her chances.
I enjoyed the interview very much. Newt is so intelligent. He talked about how important it was that his campaign was about ideas. Then they showed a clip of Romney later in the show. It was a shallow sound bite. I hope Newt stays in just to raise the IQ of the discussion 50 points.
PS: In elections it is always EVENTS ON THE GROUND that determine the winners, not the media or even the candidates, yes they do have some effect but events on the ground are by far what make one side loses and another side wins.
Romney with the current DOPe This was a typo but.. leadership will do more damage than can ever be undone. But hey, I am way too old to worry about it.
All of a sudden the Romneybots are very nice to Sarah Palin, after spending the last four years trashing her. All of a sudden they can’t stop mentioning that she will vote for him if he is the nominee.
Perhaps you can explain that to Governor Palin and Mr. Gingrich the next time you see them. Try not to yell though, it impresses no one.
The debt/deficit will be a big deal, and it is not so complicated that you can’t explain it to even the simplest of voters. We are spending 50% more than we take in every year. If you have a $20,000 a year job how long can you spend $30,000 a year? It is that simple. The money we need to close that gap cannot be raised by taxing the rich more, it cannot be raised in any way without crippling the economy. It is time to seriously look for things to cut and things to cut out. I don’t know how the Democrats can escape this debate without being ridiculed - their left wing will actually advocate more spending, probably accompanied by major (but still not enough, financially speaking) military cuts.
Exactly...
GOP trying to defeat The Counterfeit in Chief with a liberal of their own.
Me too. I'm standing with Newt until Newt stands down.
Its interesting to me you only mention romney. The other two have been showing their flaws too. I say this as a santorum supporter. I am bored with the whole election at this point. None of them, not even santorum, get me fired up.
I don’t think it will be much longer before it is only Romney, that’s why I only used his name. We know Ron Paul is only doing it for his benefit and it’s a question of whether Santorum will really put his political career at risk by continuing to Pennsylvania.
I certainly don’t support Romney. I am supporting Gingrich to the end.
That's exactly right. It's both sick and pathetic.
For Gingrich, it is. He has won two primaries. I don't see him picking up any big slates of delegates in New York, New Jersey or California. Or even in Texas. In the unlikely event this goes to a brokered convention, I don't see the power brokers choosing someone who lost 48 states (and all of the territories).
OThuga again would be the absolute worst Destroyer In Chief--though it might be a toss-up between he and Shrillery de Fosterizer de Machiavelli de Stalin de Sade . . . however, they all have the same goals in mind . . . the same old boy's club holding their feet to satan's fires and to their oaths thereto. They all want to trash all authentic Christianity as well as Israel, the family and Freedoms and our beloved Republic of the USA.

5. Nationalism is... First wave. The globalization of business and finance by advancing Third Wave economies routinely punctures the national sovereignty the nationalists hold so dear... The Third Wave... demassifies culture, values, and morality... There are more diverse religious belief systems. The Consitution of the United States needs to be reconsidered and altered... to create a whole new structure of government...

The Tofflers say fundamentalist, biblical Christianity is both dangerous and regressive. Beliefs in nationalism, patriotism, and an exclusive God, give birth to violence or repression. Only when these Dark Age menaces are swept away can advanced wealth creation by the elite be achieved. Newt Gingrich ..., member of both the World Future Society and the Council on Foreign Relations, wrote the forward to Alvin and Heidi Tofflers Creating a New Civilization

Biblical prophecy about the global government is advancing more and more rapidly. The premeditated, deliberate trashing of the USA is just a major aspect of such forces, plans, efforts. The SElections have long been a farce as part of the bread and circuses distraction from the worse treason under the table.
Does not matter..Game is set! Praise the Name of the Lord!
Thanks for your kind reply.
INDEED.
BLESSED BE THE NAME OF THE LORD.
BLESSED BE THE GOD OF ABRAHAM, ISAAC AND JACOB.
BLESSED BE THE WORD OF THE LORD.
BLESSED BE YAHSHUA, KING OF KINDS AND LORD OF LORDS.
“The most two qualified candidates in this race and the two who had over 80% chance of defeating Obama were destroyed by our own side because of the insane over rating of debates...Rick Perry and Tim Pawlenty...It is too late now...”
Couldn’t agree more. These were really the only two that got into the race that had good qualifications and relatively little baggage. One surrendered before the battle had barely begun (I still can’t understand why except possibly campaign debt), and the other self-destructed with poor debate performances.
And now, we’re stuck with Romney, which sickens me. I’m just praying that the SCOTUS strikes down Obamacare in todo, and that Romney picks a VP candidate that will energize the conservative base. Bobby Jindal would be a good choice I think, though there are a few others too.
If those two things happen-no Obamacare and a conservative VP, then I could almost stomach Romney, but still with quite a few reservations...
Against all odds... so turn to God. Romney supporters, did you all ever think God is fed up with liars and horrid pro-aborts? =Romney and BHO=
It isn’t over yet, keep praying, a miracle can happen, a
Christian could be elected President in November, the one who is obviously for life.

Until the end! Where our spirit is placed is what matters! .
MAY THE LORD GOD OF ISRAEL
finish what He has started and promised to finish within and with all those who seek His face and endeavor to put Him first in their lives . . .
May we be transformed daily ever more into the image of His Son, Christ Jesus.
May we overcome by the Blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.
