ST. PAUL, Minn. — Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton says he's ready to do whatever he can to urge voters to reject the proposed voter ID constitutional amendment that will appear on the ballot in November.
Dayton issued a symbolic veto of the amendment Wednesday, though he has no legal power to stop it from appearing on the ballot. The GOP-controlled Legislature signed off on it last week.
Dayton says the amendment would cripple Minnesota's election system by curbing same-day voter registration, absentee balloting and mail-in voting. Backers say requiring voters to prove their identity is an election integrity measure.
The governor says he doesn't think there is a way to prevent it from going to voters.

You realize that Governor Dayton has had serious mental health and alcohol abuse problems, that would disqualify him from holding a security clearance or even enlisting in the Armed Forces. But he’s perfectly fit to be a senator or a governor, because, the liberal press hushes it up and he inherited millions of dollars from the Dayton department store chain, which now operates as Target. His first wife was a Rockefeller.
Conspiracy to steal an election should be a capital offense.
If the governor is willing to push that legislation instead, I could see backing down on requiring photo ID to vote.
Raise the penalties for ballot stuffing.
In one sentence you just proved why a Representative Republic is far superior than the concept of Direct Democracy.
Vote fraud machines: Pick address that can be easily monitored, Mailboxes etc for example, apartment complexes for another, fill out voter registration cards using names from a cemetery or simply make them up, make a copy so you know what the signature looks like.
Now for either primary or general elections you request an absentee ballot for every one of those fake voters, vote the ballot, make sure the signature looks right, mail it back. No need for an ID with picture, no chance of being caught by a poll worker who knows you are not who you say you are. The end result, a stolen election. the voting public is gullible BUT there are some of us who can see and connect the dots.
Now before the general election ask your county registrar for a list of addresses with five or more voters. Go in a group and get face to face with each listed voter. If there is no voter to get face to face with, file charges with your local sheriff. If the registrar refuses to help you you know they are crooked and can act accordingly.

In addition to preventing the dead and those who have moved from the state from voting, it would stop two of the three leading ways to commit vote fraud and in Minnesota would make some changes to the third (absentee voting) no one wants to eliminate legitimate absentee voting but some of the states have systems that are rife with fraud, apparently Minnesota is one of those.
All three should be shelved. Only mail in allowed should be military people overseas or stationed out of state.

i remember seeing on here that in ‘08, SCOTUS ruled these laws were constitutional. If so, how can there be DOJ interference and so much contempt for them(rhetorical)?
MN is also one of only 2 states to allow “vouching” for people...and you can do so for (IIRC) up to 15 people.
IE: “see those 15 people behind me in line? they’re all my neighbors and I vouch for them being legit to vote”

But, hey! It’ll be voted either up or down using the old voting system, under which he was elected. So what’s he worried about?
How did they manage to elect a Republican House and Senate? Could it be that certain areas of the state have an overwhelming turnout of democrats on election day? Minneapolis, St Paul, Rochester, Deluth?
It’s my understanding that the Voter ID amendment is favored by a solid majority of voters in MN. Dayton has every reason to be worried enough to call his base to action in November.

Most MN polls are around 75% (in favor of Voter ID)
high is 80%, lowest I’ve seen is around 70%.
I’ve never agreed with absentee or mail-in ballots. My father almost lost an election because of the fraud associated with the very loose protections around absentee ballots. It’s still the easiest way to buy votes, because you can be right there when the x is placed on the ballot and then sealed in the envelope. And that’s just with those voters who are legitimately on the voter list. The potential for abuse by imaginary or ineligible voters is even worse.
