Two sources told WFTV on Monday that gunman George Zimmerman could be arrested this week, and that a Grand Jury will not meet on Tuesday.
Zimmerman has been in hiding because of threats, after he shot and killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. He claims he shot Martin in self-defense.
Jacksonville State Attorney Angela Corey has the sole authority to determine whether Zimmerman will be charged for killing Martin.
Governor Rick Scott put Corey in charge of the case late last month amid concerns that State Attorney Norm Wolflinger wouldn't do a thorough and fair investigation.
"You've got to make sure justice prevails. I'm comfortable that the State Attorney Angela Corey will make that happen," Scott said.
In Florida, first-degree murder cases must be heard by a Grand Jury, which means Corey can only charge Zimmerman with third-degree murder, second-degree or manslaughter.
However, because Zimmerman fired his gun and Martin died, which means Zimmerman could still face life in prison without parole, WFTV found out.
Natalie Jackson is one of the attorneys representing Martin's family and told WFTV she wasn't surprised by Corey's decision.
"We believe justice dictates that he will be charged," said Jackson. "If justice and the procedures were followed, then yes, all of this could've been avoided."

I was just watching some of the highlights on GBTV and they were covering the Jeramiah Wright and NBP videos and I think you are right its coming.
I guess the only people who are allowed to shoot in self-defence, or muggings, or drug deals, robberies or simply for intimidation are Blacks....
Pandering to the race baiters.
What happens if they start a riot and the Whites they hate so much just laugh in their faces?
The only problem facing the prosecution is getting Zimmerman before a judge and jury certain to convict him. Zimmerman "is toast!"
"all of this" WAS the procedure and it WAS followed. "Justice" comes at the end.
Prepare the altar of pandering political correctness for the latest sacrifice!
Let the reparation payments begin!
The “Reverends” rejoice mightily!
If he was smart, George is hiding out in Panama or something. No need to risk being a part of a political show trial.
"Remember Trayvon" they will chant?
And in response they will hear "Remember O.J.!"
In the article, there isn’t a single shred of information that backs up the “unnamed sources say he could be arrested” statement.
Just the statement itself, followed by regurgitation and speculation.
Methinks those “sources” are a) not connected with Ms. Corey’s office at all, and b) wishful thinking.
To Al’s goon squad, “justice” is nothing short of the realization of their predetermined outcome.
“...concerns that State Attorney Norm Wolflinger wouldn’t do a thorough and fair investigation.”
Sounds like Norm needs to look for a new job. Just saying.
Putting a female prosecutor in charge of Zimmerman’s fate is SEXIST. You can bet that ‘white males’ will be kept far from anything having to do with Zimmerman’s fate if it can be avoided. Acquiescing to the black threat of violence is catering to terrorism, plain and simple. Where’s Janet Napolitano? These protesters are closing down police stations! If this isn’t domestic terrorism, WHAT IS?
What about Mr. Zimmerman’s 5th Amendment right to a Grand Jury? “No person shall be held to answer for a capital or otherwise infamous crime unless on a presentment or indictment of a grand jury”
So, at what point should have Zimmerman been afraid? I mean, if the account is true that he was on the ground with Martin on top of him slamming his head on the pavement?
If Zimmerman is being arrested in response to the public outcry, will he be found guilty in the same manner?
I don't hold out hope justice will prevail here.
Hispanics are gonna be pissed...
Given expected riots, it might be a good idea for Congress to proceed on some such Federal program.
