Mitt Romney is a Liberal, Part 4: “My views are progressive”
Poor Richard's News ^

Posted on 04/09/2012 3:42:03 PM PDT by SoConPubbie

A few fun videos to go along with our popular “Mitt Romney is a Liberal” series. Via Buzzfeed, here are five instances on film in which Mitt Romney distances himself from either conservatism or the Republican party or both. I’ll embed the first one and link to the others at the bottom.

Mitt Romney: My Views Are Progressive

•Video 2: “I’m not running as the Republican view or a continuation of Republican values. That’s not what brings me to the race.”
•Video 3: “I think it’s very clear to people across the commonwealth my R doesn’t as much stand for Republican as it does for reform.”
•Video 4: “It’s always a burden to have run with R for Republican after your name.”
•Video 5: “”I was an independent during the time of Reagan-Bush. not trying to return to Reagan-Bush.”

It’s painfully easy to do this with Mitt Romney on just about any issue. I could put together a montage of flip flops on abortion, healthcare, immigration, you name it. As much as he wants us to believe it now that he’s running for President, Mitt Romney is no conservative and never has been. Mitt Romney is a liberal.

Click here to read Part 1 of this series to learn about how Romney supported TARP. Click here for Part 2 to learn about how Romney appointed liberal judges in Massachusetts. Click here for part 3 to learn about about Romney’s extensive pro-abortion record.

And the Un-Masking of Mitt Romney, the left-wing, Progressive Liberal, continues . . .

Yes, he’s a liberal.

The next President of the United States will very likely be either Romney or Obama.

That’s the choice.

I can’t stand Romney - Obama is far worse.

DB, I think this quote is spot on

"If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures." - Alexander Hamilton

Besides, I have no interest in the race if it is Romney vs Obama. *yawn*. That is like going to be like watching the DU Party primary. I'll probably sleep in on election day.

While there isn't much difference between a pro-big government, pro-abortion, pro-gun control, pro-homosexual liberal from Massachusetts, and a pro-big government, pro-abortion, pro-gun control, pro-homosexual liberal from Chicago, you ought to vote in the other races.

Me, I will only vote for somebody who is truly a Conservative. That means I'll find somebody else to vote for/write-in if the Republican is not a Conservative.

Unfortunately, it’s either Romney or Obama. Romney is a plastic political weathervane who believes in nothing but his nown ambition, while Obama is a willing tool of people who want to destroy the United States. It sucks that it’s come to this. Your complaints about Romney are accurate, but now, bringing them up accomplishes nothing constructive. There is one big difference between the two. I’m confident that can survive a President Romney. I don’t think we can survive four more years of President Obama.

Sorry, but the MA and CA GOP parties would disagree with your hopeful prognostication.

Neither of them have survived a moderate (Arnold-CA) or left-wing, Progressive Liberal (Mitt-MA) Chief Executive.

Furthermore, for those of us who are holding true to our conservative and Christian principles and unwilling and unable to accept a Lying, Left-Wing, Progressive Liberal as our nominee, this is very constructive if, even if the chances are small, we help to force a nominating convention.

Even if we don't, we won't be voting for your boy, and there are still a lot of lurkers that are not aware of Romney's record, so we are providing them a service as well.

Finally, it provides an eventual innoculation and firewall about the inevitable complaints and accusations from posters such as yourself that when Mitt loses, and he will, we are blamed for said loss when it was Mitt's fault all along and those supporting him.

The only thing inevitable about Mitt Romney is he is the only candidate who guarantees the re-election of Obama because of the record we are posting and you are complaining about.

You might as well get used to his record, you are supporting him, so you own him and his record, and as long as Jim Robsinson let's me post his record, you can count on it until the primaries are finished, and if God frowns on us and burdens the GOP with his nomination, it will be until the general election in November.

I'm with Alexander Hamilton with regards to Romney as the Nominee:

"If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures." - Alexander Hamilton

Wikipedia says the Prohibition Party is against the sale of alcohol, tobacco, is against gambling, drugs, pornography, and vice.

The Democrats are wanting to ban some of those things....either to protect children or protect people from having to make decisions.

Taking advice from Alexander Hamilton is not a good sign, sadly you may be right, or at least right enough to garrentee this is enough of a lose-lose presidential election that it will be the bigger loss for us.

Lets face it Obama has a billion dollar campaign chest he built using OUR tax payer dollars laundered thou his friends & supporters. That is on top of his unwavering support in most of the media Beating this monster in elections which have long lost any sense of fairness or honestly is going to be something of a mirical.

Let us not in any of this ever lose focus upon our real objective, the restoration & preservation of our natural rights at any cost.

Alexander Hamilton took his own advice in preswading congress to elect Thomas Jefferson(his enemy) in that act Hamilton not only lost his life in the subsequent duel but his faction ideology the federalist were decimated. Not to return to serous power for anther 20~ years, never in their then present form.

Hamilton’s advice was thankfully self-defeating fro him. What makes you think it wont be self-defeating for us?

Romney will try to involve our party in disgrace I'm pretty sure of that, after all He's not much interested in the Tea Party or what pulled them all together. He's a product of the RNC. That is where the change needs to take place.

Romney, McCain, Dole, Bush 1, Ford and most likely Nixon. The RNC does not represent me, although I must say I no longer send them a dime. I have also been thinking of re registering my political affiliation as Independent as I am not much interested in them.

This is one election that will either save us or destroy us.
It’s up to us to determine which is the lesser evil...and
I guess Myth is it. At least we’re pretty certain he IS an
American.

Welcome to the United Soviet States of America..where the Pravda State Media “vet” the candidates to the pleasure and needs of the RinoCrat UniParty.

This “election” will be a non-election...featuring the state approved “candidates”-whose only distinction is whether they are black or white.

Since 1988, with George H. W. Bush, Bob Dole, George W. Bush, and John McCain, we've got a 24 year stretch of moderate candidates who support big government, lost to Democrats or turned the White House over to Democrats. Until Obama decided to break his record, George W. Bush gave us the biggest, most expensive, most intrusive, and most powerful government in our nation's history, and he did it with the support of a Republican Congress!

And God forbid, now we have Romney who is far more liberal than all of them.

I'll tell you what American can't survive: A conservative movement with no real principles left to them.

Which "conservative" support for Romney signals.

Absolutely right, Clintonfatigued!

Folks making the stay home or third-party argument are fools without a clue as to what Obama is. Romney and Obama are both true believers. The difference is that Obama is a true believer in the International Communist Revolution, whereas Romney is a true believer in ... Willard Mitt Romney. As President, Romney will do his best to accomplish whatever he thinks will enhance his resume, whereas Obama, no longer facing reelection, will work to complete his agenda to cut America down to size (relay that to Vladimir) and realize his father's dream of a socialist paradise.

If, as now seems highly likely, Romney is the nominee, it will be up to us to drag him across the finish line, along with enough conservative congress critters to make sure he etches the right sketch in 2013.

The conservative movement is that, a grass roots movement of concerned and principled patriots. Romney is a candidate. Even if he’s elected President, that doesn’t make him the leader of that movement. If conservatives do vote for him, out of concern about another Obama term, it’ll just be the political equivelent of a marraige of convenience.

A couple of things you might want to remember:

1. Romney has a history of making marriage certificates mean whatever he wants them to mean.

2. He's already married to the Log Cabin Republicans and every other left-leaning force in the GOP.
