UN "Human Rights" Boss Questions Fla. Law, Demands Justice for Trayvon

As the shooting of Trayvon Martin in Florida continues to dominate headlines around the world, United Nations “High Commissioner for Human Rights” Navi Pillay publicly demanded an investigation of the incident and the prosecution of shooter George Zimmerman. She also expressed concerns about the state’s “Stand Your Ground” law that allows would-be victims to defend themselves.

Speaking at a press conference in Barbados, Pillay joined the growing chorus of race-profiteers, anti-gun zealots, and supposed “civil rights” activists in attempting to exploit the tragedy. "As High Commissioner for Human Rights, I call for an immediate investigation," she told the press, apparently unaware that local, state, and federal investigations were already well underway to determine the facts in the case.

The February 26 shooting of black 17-year-old Martin by neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman — oddly dubbed a “white Hispanic” by much of the press — has fueled a firestorm of controversy. Zimmerman maintains that he was attacked and fired in self-defense. So far, he has not been charged with a crime.

But the killing sparked a wave of indignation among professional race baiters such as Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. President Obama even waded into the debate with controversial remarks on Martin’s race, sparking outrage and widespread criticism. And infamous racists including the “New Black Panther Party” latched onto the fatal shooting to call for vigilante justice by offering a bounty on Zimmerman.

Involvement from the UN, however, has taken the hysteria to a new level. "Justice must be done for the victim,” insisted Pillay, a South African, without knowing the facts since investigations to determine the circumstances are still underway. “It's not just this individual case. It calls into question the delivery of justice in all situations like this."

The tragedy also led to a renewed push for more infringements on Americans’ rights to firearms and self-defense. The anti-gun lobby promptly sprang into action after the case attracted national attention, and the establishment press dutifully followed — variously suggesting that the shooting was not self-defense, but that laws permitting would-be victims to defend themselves were somehow to blame anyway.

Pillay jumped on the bandwagon, too, taking aim at the popular “Stand Your Ground” law that has been enacted in some 20 American states. However, Zimmerman’s attorney has said his client was not even invoking the protections offered by that law, so it was not clear why the UN appointee found it relevant.

"The law should operate equally in respect of all violations,” the global body’s “human rights” chief said, noting that she was shocked that Zimmerman had not been arrested. “I will be awaiting an investigation and prosecution and trial and of course reparations for the victims concerned."

Of course, in America, the U.S. and state Constitutions recognize that everyone has the right to be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law by a jury of their peers. Americans also cherish their unalienable right to keep and bear arms — also protected by the Constitution — despite UN pressure to infringe upon it.

Ironically, the misnamed UN “Human Rights Council” is composed of more than a few Islamist or communist dictatorships that are notorious around the world for abusing the rights of their subjects. Prominent U.S. lawmakers are even seeking an American withdrawal from the dubious body. Consider: The tyrannical regimes ruling over Cuba, Libya, Saudi Arabia, Uganda, and China, for example — among the most despotic on Earth — are all represented on the council.

But the irony did not escape notice for long. After news of Pillay’s comments broke, analysts variously criticized and ridiculed the UN’s purported interest in the case, calling it highly inappropriate. American critics of Pillay’s remarks in particular unleashed a tsunami of contempt for the global body and its “human rights” apparatus across the web.

“Just what we need: The Dictators’ Club nosing around in American affairs,” wrote conservative commentator Bryan Preston. “Surely Pillay has larger and more pressing human rights issues to concern herself with.... There is an investigation ongoing. Now, please go meddle in someone else’s country.”

Other observers suggested the global body could start by investigating the widespread sex crimes committed around the world by troops under its command. Probing the atrocious human rights records of the various totalitarian regimes sitting on the UN “human rights” council would probably be a better use of time and resources, too, analysts said.

But despite publicly displaying complete ignorance by demanding an “investigation” even as several had been ongoing for weeks, Pillay’s comments did attract some domestic support. The so-called “Florida Civil Right Association” (FCRA), for example, released a statement praising the UN’s demand for an investigation.

“We believe that the United Nations involvement can help prevent another Trayvon Martin situation in other countries across the world,” claimed FCRA boss Willie David, perhaps unaware of the UN's record. “The shooting death of Trayvon Martin and Florida’s Stand-Your-Ground Law have created a worldwide movement that calls into question how justice is delivered to victims of color.”

Before taking on her role as self-styled global guardian of “human rights,” Pillay served on the so-called “International Criminal Court,” a body of dubious legitimacy that purports to have jurisdiction over “aggression,” war crimes, and other matters. The United States is not a party to the self-appointed global judiciary, though the "court" recently claimed to be investigating American troops for war crimes in Libya.

It was not immediately clear what Pillay hoped to accomplish by making the half-baked comments — especially since numerous investigations into the Martin shooting are already underway. Besides, the UN, of course, has no jurisdiction in America, let alone in states’ criminal law. If publicity and more race agitation was the goal, however, her controversial remarks may have achieved their purpose.

The UN needs to keep its goatsmellin' asses out of this. This is an AMERICAN thing. We don't need those piggies at the UN sticking their noses into our business. We'll work it out.

Get the UN out of US and US out of the UN.

It’ll be a great day if we ever get a President, Senate and House that’ll tell the UN to take a hike. Permanently!

This was the “Oh sh*t” moment prior to Bath-House Barry’s inauguration—why he was seen as “dangerous”:

snip-”A nice-sounding bill called the “Global Poverty Act,” sponsored by Democratic presidential candidate and Senator Barack Obama, is up for a Senate vote on Thursday and could result in the imposition of a global tax on the United States. The bill, which has the support of many liberal religious groups, makes levels of U.S. foreign aid spending subservient to the dictates of the United Nations.”

spending subservient to the dictates of the United Nations... global governance headed by the U.N., who wants small arms eradicated worldwide.

Vote the fag-bastard out in November.

Bottom line is we are fast becoming a “state” of the UN. The proof is the fact that no one in “leadership” positions in our government tells the UN to pound sand. Or better yet, get us out of the UN.

Next: UN resolution calling for massive movement of blue helmeted "peace keepers" to be stations across the United States to stop race wars and uphold human rights for the oppressed.

Of course, a few preventative steps will be necessary.

Is that powder blue supposed to be the equivalent of a truce flag or a red cross, or something like that?

Just curious, because it sure makes the iron sights stand out sharp and clear...

Well, then. Another wise Negress demanding an "immediate" investigation. What a self-important, brain-dead, useless simp. Someone should tell Mizz Pillay to go suck a rock and shut the hell up.

Nobody in America gives a runny brown squirt what she thinks, and she has absolutely no standing upon which to demand a damn thing, the ignorant cow. I just love it when the race-baiting soapbox crowd start squealing.

Imbeciles.

Blue Hats in the U.S. ??? Never happen, cause all those troops are in all those African nations keeping the peace and preventing the 'locals' from chopping each other up with machete's and taking the AK-47's away from all the locals.

Huh?....They're not?....Who would have thought...?..Oh....OK...Well, I'll be, who would have guessed?....Hey, Admin, delete this post since all I've said is not true.

Were you ever to Bethesda Hospital? Those are the guards at the gate. They are NOT Americans nor dressed in American uniforms.

No it is not an accident in memory, I have been there numerous times with my wife for Cancer related tests and treatments. We also got to stay across the street (don't remember the name of the base in the BOQ (played on my dads past service and my daughters current service.) That was maned by MP's at the gate and at the BOQ. Relatively nice place and better than a hotel for sure. But then for me it was comforting ('cause I grew up on bases till I was like 12 or 13.

Shock my wife how after the first time through the gate the MP saluted our pass and waved us through (professional courtesy?) And I don't know if it was my family connections or the admitting Officer MD (a captain I think) who I think had set us up at the base across the street.

My wife said the guards at Bethesda made her uncomfortable as they talk.

ed among themselves in their own language. Only a few spoke proper well enunciated English.
They rest reminded me of a border crossing in Africa. However they were NOT US MP's. And some did have automatic side arms.

What is with all these people and groups announcing a verdict before charges are made much less a trial held. Haven't any of them read our Constitution?

This isn’t satire?

BTW certain people will be satisfied with nothing less than Zimmerman’s blood.

And even that will not be enough.

It will never be enough, for them.

I haven't lived in DC in several years but I imagine the guard force at Bethesda is either Defense Protective Service (US Govt. civil service types) or a contractor. The buildings at Crystal City that used to house most of Navair and Navsea were all guarded by contract guards. At one time Stay Inc. a Memphis based firm had the contract. Interestingly when the contract there changed in 1992 everyone had to prove US citizenship by producing a birth certificate. I understand ‘legal immigrants’ can now be security guards at certain government locations if there is no secure or controlled access requirement. There are a lot of West Africans living in the DC area.
