[The Department of Homeland Security's "Environmental Justice" Strategy]
The Department of Homeland Security ^ | Feb. 2012 | Some overpaid slob at DHS

Posted on 04/09/2012 9:10:08 PM PDT by Absolutely Nobama

“Environmental justice” describes the commitment of the Federal Government, through its policies, programs, and activities, to avoid placing disproportionately high and adverse effects on the human health and environment of minority or low-income populations. As described in the 2010 Quadrennial Homeland Security Review (QHSR), our Nation’s vision of homeland security is a homeland safe and secure, resilient against terrorism and other hazards, and where American interests and aspirations and the American way of life can thrive. In seeking to fulfill this vision, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) aspires to avoid burdening minority and low-income populations with a disproportionate share of any adverse human health or environmental risks associated with our efforts to secure the Nation. DHS joins with other departments and agencies to appropriately include environmental justice practices in our larger mission efforts involving federal law enforcement and emergency response activities.

Part of Agenda 21.

May I suggest, before you go informing a FReeper of such, that you check out their page? I was on the first in the nation Agenda21 Biodiversity and Ecosystem Management Roundtable in 1994. I published a book dealing with that experience and modeling the consequences in the residential real estate market 11 years ago.

I agree with every word. Most Americans are like the little spoiled, complacent child who has had a full cookie jar. He never cared where the cookies came from. He took the cookies for granted. Now he’s about to go on a diet and he’s in for a surprise.

The originator of the Environmental Justice Movement to the is a sociologist (not a climate scientist, FYI) named Robert Bullard, to the best of my knowledge.

You can read some of his rantings at:

From page 2 of the document: “Along the Nation’s land borders and coastal waters, DHS has a significant physical presence, principally through the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), where environmental justice considerations arise. Through the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) work in emergency preparedness and response, the agency helps ensure environmental justice in communities that must prepare for, mitigate against, respond to, or recover from an emergency or disaster.”

Hey FEMA, how about ensuring environmental justice along our southern borders and keep the invading illegals from destroying the physical, social, political, and economic environment of our our border states?

Like this from http://refugeeresettlementwatch.wordpress.com/2012/04/09/state-department-refugee-meeting-your-chance-to-voice-your-opinion/

Every year the US State Department holds a meeting/hearing to learn what US citizens are thinking about the refugee resettlement program and so they can ‘help’ the President determine how many refugees we will take in the next fiscal year.

The meeting is dominated by federal contractors (LOL! they call them “voluntary agencies”) who stream in and ask for more refugees. In past years few citizens or local elected officials have questioned the notion that the US can take in more impoverished immigrants from the world’s political hot spots.

I like to call them "Islamo-Nazi hell holes", but I'm told that's not politicalcorrecthink.

“they resemble nothing of what they were allegedly created for.”

Janet can be really creative at trivializing her job. I thought that I’d seen the pits when Janet’s advice went out to the police to look out for disgruntled war veterans and other “low level terrorists” who have anti abortion bumper stickers”.

The Left will turn any and every heirarchy into a community organizing tool if they can. The only solution is massive, massive cuts to federal bureaucracies.

Evidently! But this is not new. Dec. 2010: Napolitano Says DHS to Begin Battling Climate Change as Homeland Security Issue

Unfortunately, Romney has a history of landing in the same ideological family as Obama.

I'm going to bookmark the DHS document so I can use it as an example of something unintelligible.

This is now government policy. Not by an act of Congress mind you, but by an Executive Order.

They claim the authority of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA 1970). There were some real environmental problems in 1970, but it has vague language (the road to hell) such as "Title I of NEPA contains a Declaration of National Environmental Policy which requires the federal government to use all practicable means to create and maintain conditions under which man and nature can exist in productive harmony."
