As this country was being founded, job one was throwing off the shackles of the king, not electing someone that made George and John feel good about themselves.

Oh it WAS; was it??

The Mayflower Compact

In the name of God, Amen. We, whose names are underwritten, the loyal subjects of our dread Sovereign Lord King James, by the Grace of God, of Great Britain, France, and Ireland, King, defender of the Faith, etc.

Having undertaken, for the Glory of God, and advancements of the Christian faith and honor of our King and Country, a voyage to plant the first colony in the Northern parts of Virginia, do by these presents, solemnly and mutually, in the presence of God, and one another, covenant and combine ourselves together into a civil body politic; for our better ordering, and preservation and furtherance of the ends aforesaid; and by virtue hereof to enact, constitute, and frame, such just and equal laws, ordinances, acts, constitutions, and offices, from time to time, as shall be thought most meet and convenient for the general good of the colony; unto which we promise all due submission and obedience. In witness whereof we have hereunto subscribed our names at Cape Cod the 11th of November, in the year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord King James, of England, France, and Ireland, the eighteenth, and of Scotland the fifty-fourth, 1620.[13]

Sounds just like “IslamISM is the problem, not Muslims.”

Does anyone even think before they post? Does anyone ever apply rational and logical thought or do they just verbally explode with whatever pops into their heads?

I swear Elsie, There can’t be more than a handful of rational people left on the planet. It’s like they think that Islam or Mormonism or whatever just POOF! suddenly sprang into existance and is not the result of people making it what it is.

It's time to let go of your principles....the founding fathers would be supporting Romney 100%

C'mon Wind, don't you remember how the Founders pledged their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to accepting whatever King George so deemed? Like a miniscule tax on tea?

Indentured servitude, indentured schmurvitude, abortion, schmabortion - the sheep should just vote for whomever false choices the MSM tells them to, and stop asking questions.

Indeed. I remember with great fondness my elementary school days when the teacher stood up and recited the wisdom of our founding fathers.

“Give me liberalism or give me death” was my personal favorite.

But it was John Quincy Adams who put it best when he said

“Moderation and capitulation have a magical talisman, before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish into air.

He was widely quoted as saying

“Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost.”

But that is just a lie. A true FF would never say anything so stupid.

Gosh, I'm sorry Elsie, I didn't bookmark the sleazy innuendos toward run of the mill Momrons, or the posts which compare them to the 'cliquish Jews', or the posts which have assured us that if Milt is elected he will fill Washington with Mormons runing everything and that will be an endorsement of the ISM.

If I had bookmarked what I believe is such sleazy stuff I could now link you to it, but I do recall you were on those threads also, so perhaps you remeber a few of the posts, eh? Besides, you wouldn't want to get tangled up in discussion with a 'sunny day christian' as the predictable poster defined me. Such nice folks, so Christian to use The Gospel of Grace to attack a political candidate and anyone who would be so demonic as to vote for him to remove the exposed commie at the helm now. Do you remember if they attacked the Bushes with such zeal since they were/are abortion defenders to some degree?

But ya know, I'm not going to be bookmarking such posts because I refuse to become as obsessive as a few have become in their zeal to destroy Romney as the alternative to little barry commie boy.

And as to your reference to "... have you a DIFFERENT way of expressing the TRUTH so I do not run afoul of this faux pas again?" ... such a nasty little effort at a smartaleck dig, when you know I consider Christ to be The Truth and have never backed down from this reality. Maybe you'd like to accuse me of being taken by the darkside, as in having been converted to MormonISM, like others seem compelled to do? Gee, what are friends for anyway?

If you can't tell the difference between Romney and Obama\Democrats, there is no hope for, in this world.

I have been a freeper since 2000 but freepers like you are nuts, not conservative. You need your brains examined.

William Buckley once vote for and raised money for Joe Liebermann. He was a better conservative than any freeper, and I mean any!

But again he loved the country more than any conservative thought. Oh he did that terrible thing ugh! he compromised, for love of country.

Reagan Always voted for the Republican nominee, No freeper is better or more Conservative than Reagan.

Oh, Talking to brick wall, Bye.

No disrespect meant to you, Mr. Reagan or Mr. Buckley, but where are we right now? Did voting Republican or Liberal, rather than Conservative, keep us from getting to where we are - yes or no? Look around. This country has gone to sh!t.

I’m a noob and have no illusions about understanding or knowing more than long time Freepers. Explain, if you will, how selling out my principles will make this country better, in the long run.

If you can’t tell the difference between Romney and Obama\Democrats, there is no hope for, in this world.

Read Romney's documented record as Governor of Massachusetts, and tell me where you find ANY difference between him and the liberal Democrats:

Mitt Romney’s Dismal Record

"As U.S. real output grew 13 percent between 2002 and 2006, Massachusetts trailed at 9 percent.

* Manufacturing employment fell 7 percent nationwide those years, but sank 14 percent under Romney, placing Massachusetts 48th among the states.

* Between fall 2003 and autumn 2006, U.S. job growth averaged 5.4 percent, nearly three times Massachusetts' anemic 1.9 percent pace.

* While 8 million Americans over age 16 found work between 2002 and 2006, the number of employed Massachusetts residents actually declined by 8,500 during those years.

"Massachusetts was the only state to have failed to post any gain in its pool of employed residents," professors Sum and McLaughlin concluded.

In an April 2003 meeting with the Massachusetts congressional delegation in Washington, Romney failed to endorse President Bush's $726 billion tax-cut proposal."

[Cato Institute annual Fiscal Policy Report Card - America's Governors, 2004.]

Romney's "accomplishments".

1. Implemented/created Gay Marriage in MA

2. Supported and forced Gay Adoption in MA

3. Supported Abortion wholeheartedly

4. Raised taxes/fees over 300% while being Governor of MA

5. Implemented a state-level Cap and Trade system.

6. Supported Man-Made Global Warming

7. Supported the Brady Bill

8. Implemented a state level “Assault” Weapons Ban after the Federal AWB was allowed to expire.

9. Supported TARP

10. Supported Amnesty for Illegal Aliens (Citizenship for those already here)

11. Supported McCain-Kennedy (Amnesty)

12. Implemented a socialized medicine in MA called RomneyCare complete with an Individual Mandate and $50 abortions.

13. Nominated 27 Democrats (out of 36 nominations) for judgeships in MA, many of them extreme left-wingers.

I don't care how long you've survived as a member of this site, or how long you've been voting Republican. If you can't see that Romney is a liberal Democrat posing as a Republican, and if you're completely oblivious to the fact that his demonstrated agenda is precisely the same as that followed by Barack Obama, then you're the one who needs your head examined.

If you can look at Mitt Romney's record, and still demand that others vote for him, then you have no business calling yourself a conservative, or making any claims to a conscience or core principles of any kind.

In case that's too complicated for you, I'll make it simple: YOU'RE VOTING FOR A STINKING LIBERAL DEMOCRAT IN A REPUBLICAN JERSEY.

I've never seen such idiotic pap as what you've posted on this thread. Compromise your principles (upon which this nation was founded) for the good of the country?? Sheer insanity.

Ah; it was no effort at all.

I still want to know what YOU would say to a MORMON; that would get them to abandon their clinging to a heresy.

Son/daughter, that wasn’t even worth four postings of it. Rominy is a disgusting liberal. But he’s not the commie now workign to destroy this nation. If Romney is elected, we the people will not be setting down to tea. We had better be hounding the wet finger in the wind liberal to govern conservatively. One of the biggest differences between Obama and Romney is that Obama doesn’t give a darn what you or I believe, think, or want, for Obama is governing lawlessly and has plenty of henchgoons aiding and abetting that lawlessness. Romney is a creature of shifting winds. We The People have a chance to be the wind shifting Mitt Romney, but we have zero chance of shifting Barack Obama, as the many examples of his lawless governing prove. As it has always been, there will be people voting strictly on their principles as they perceive themselves. The sad part is that some of these principled voters are too principled to be sovereigns where trying to right a foundering ship of state is the task at hand. If you don’t like their standing on principles in this election, then walk away. A peron exercises their principles on their schedule, just as most of these same people voted for the Bushes who were not fully pro-life, somehow believing they were yet standing by their principles. You nor anyone else is goign to change that personally wagered stand. Try to stick to reasoned argument and avoid the emotional traps.

***Reagan Always voted for the Republican nominee, No freeper is better or more Conservative than Reagan.****

Wrong, Reagan didn't always vote for republicans when he was a member of the democrat party.

If Buckley once raised money for old Joe, so what. He also wanted to legalize marijuana...the man had flaws, and not perfect as you seem to think.

Especially when it came to Reagan....the man was a big anti-communist of that there is no doubt....

Buckley had a yearly campaign for money to keep his magazine going, I had subscribed to it for years, but not too many people thought much of his philophys cause he needed his own version of a freepathon just for his own magazine....dropped it when the girly men too over the magazine...
