A Florida special prosecutor has decided to charge neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman in the shooting death of unarmed teen Trayvon Martin, sources told ABC News.

The decision by Florida special prosecutor Angela Corey is expected to be announced at a 6 p.m. news conference in Jacksonville, Fla.

The prosecutor's ruling is certain to provoke controversy in Sanford, Fla., where shooting took place and across the country.

Zimmerman, 28, a white Hispanic neighborhood watch captain, shot and killed Martin, who was 17 and black, on Feb. 26 after following the teenager for several minutes.

The special prosecutor's ruling came one day after Zimmerman's legal team quit because they had lost contact with him, and suggested that the pressure of the case had "pushed him over the edge."(continued)

“They just look at Whitey, and get murder lust. Some of us are gonna shoot if attacked, and the attackers are gonna die.”

I have very light skin, and blue eyes and blonde hair. I now think blacks see a target on my back. I ordered more ammo from Cheaper Than Dirt yesterday.

I live in Texas and I will shoot if threatened.

charge him with leaving his blood on the sidewalk from his head wound? Illegal parking while he went searching for the hooded one? Shooting a hole in his skittle bag? Please put me on the jury.

Believe it or not, Zimmerman has a pretty good case for political asylum in another country. Pretty astounding in this day and age, but true. Look at the facts: ...

Wonder if George Zimmerman has duel citizenship....Hmm

What are they going to charge him with—involuntary manslaughter?

Pathetic. Saw this coming when she didn’t use the Grand Jury — knew she’d get a “no bill.”

That was my thought too. Now the dog and pony show will begin.

This just in: Zimmerman will be charged with violating the city noise ordinance by discharging a firearm within city limits!

My bet is that Zimmerman is with his mother’s family in Lima, Peru... ‘If the prosecutors know where he is’, then I guess they will file for extradition, if we have an extradition treaty with Peru.

What the article doesn’t say what they are charging him: littering for leaving the shell on the ground.

Early reports were that the police recovered Zimmerman's semiautomatic pistol with "a full magazine and an empty cartridge case in the chamber". About the only way that could have happened is if Martin grabbed the gun in his left hand and tried to wrestle it away from Zimmerman. If Zimmerman had his finger in the trigger guard it is possible that Martin caused the gun to fire by jerking it away from Zimmerman and towards his chest. Martin's hand would have been holding the gun by its slide, thus preventing it from cycling and ejecting the empty cartridge case and reloading a live round from the magazine.

The lack of an empty shell case on the ground says a lot about what happened during the struggle, two people had a hand on the weapon when it fired. Martin's left hand and forearm should be checked for nitrate residue, and the slide should be checked for fingerprints other than Zimmerman's.

Regards,
GtG

Why bother with a trial? Al and Jesse won’t be satisfied until Zimmerman is hanging from a sour apple tree.

My thoughts exactly.... Duel citizenship? Can a citizen of another country be extradicted?

[[Have we reached the point in which shooting down an unarmed person in a public place is not sufficient evidence to charge an individual?]]

you are leavign several key facts out apaprently in order to support your contention that everyoen should be arrested when a shooting oocures-

1: Zimmerman shot trayvon AFTER Trayvon tried to kill him and tried to grab his gun from him (which was STILL HOLSTERED at that point)

2: Witnesses have coem forward and corroborated Zimmerman’s account of the fight

3: Injuries to AZimmerman corroborate his account that he was assaulted and an attempt was made on his life.

Have we reached a point in this copuntry qwhere we IGNORE trhe evidfence anbd justy charge everyone invovled with murder if a shooting occures regardless of whether or not it was justifiable homicide?

If I am not mistaken, there still needs to be a preliminary hearing to determine if there is probable cause. If this ever goes to trial, he would be better off having a bench trial instead of a jury trial. That is if he can get a judge who is not a democratic hack.

The special prosecutor's ruling came one day after Zimmerman's legal team quit

This statement, among others in the article, is a flat out lie. No "ruling" has come down yet and won't until 6:00 PM. All we have is, once again, unnamed sources a favorite of the MSM.

Rush asked and answered, "Where could he go? Brazil. Brazil doesn't have extradition with the US".

Not sure if you'd have to be a citizen, though.

white Hispanic

There's the proof that this is all about race.

When was the last time you heard the press call Obama white black?

The first white black President?

Zimmerman's gonna get hung out to dry.

If she doesn’t convict him, Holder will prosecute him for violating Martin’s civil rights. No double jeopardy protection.

“My bet is that Zimmerman is with his mother’s family in Lima, Peru... ‘If the prosecutors know where he is’, then I guess they will file for extradition, if we have an extradition treaty with Peru.”

I hope that’s where they sent him and I don’t know if he could be extradited from there. When the two attorneys gave the press conference, they said people would have to look outside Florida to find him.

Someone here mentioned Bermuda and that is just a hop for an airplane from Florida. Get there fast. It’s also according to how much money the father, a retired judge, has to keep him out of the country.

I would go where there is no extradition because he is going to be killed, somehow, some way. He would have to live there forever but that’s better than being dead.
