Every person in our country is entitled to bail money. It’s right there in our Constitution.

EBT cards are for both or either food stamps or cash aid.

I think we need to merge all 76 federal welfare programs into a single cash dole. It might not be enough for people living in utopia’s like NYC but their states could always chip in on their own.

Heck at the rate this government is growing a guaranteed minimum income from government will start looking like a right-wing idea.

The article mentions using them to buy scratch tickets.

Nearly every person I ever arrested had a casino boarding pass or three right behind their EBT card.

Of late, heroin abusers are trading their EBT card for heroin. The give out the pin to the dealer, and then report it stolen or lost later.

It’s a racket.

Get some remedial math.

If it was state money to start with, the state gets about 2/3 of it back instead of wasting the whole amount. Only a third as much is ‘pissed away’.

If it was fed money it’s a 2/3 profit for the state, and only the same loss to the feds as it was anyway.

Why about the only way to do better would be not to give it out in the first place- and politicians won’t stand for that kind of crazy talk!

At last someone is making tracks to reform this freebie income for do-nothing dope peddlers and baby-mamas with multiple baby daddies!

Mich. governor signs 48-month welfare limit

Snip: Gov. Rick Snyder on Tuesday signed into law a stricter, four-year lifetime limit on cash welfare benefits, prompting advocates for the poor to warn that tens of thousands of residents will find themselves without cash assistance on Oct. 1.

Michigan's first-year Republican chief executive said the state will offer exemptions to the limit for those with a disability who can't work, those who care for a disabled spouse or child and those who are 65 or older and don't qualify for Social Security benefits or receive very low benefits.
