Gingrich charges Fox News with pro-Romney bias

DOVER, Del. -- During a meeting with 18 Delaware Tea Party leaders here on Wednesday, Newt Gingrich lambasted The Fox News Channel, accusing the cable news network that employed him as recently as last year of having been in the tank for Mitt Romney from the beginning of the Republican presidential fight and singling out former colleagues for attacking him out of what he characterized as personal jealousy.

"I think Fox has been for Romney all the way through," Gingrich said...

But bitching about how they are screwing you after getting paid to be a commentator and then going back to it, if that is what he does, seems pretty lame.

Actually I would call it "courageous". If only Dianne Sawyer or others from the other networks would come out and complain about their networks taking sides... I'd call it a miracle not "lame".

I mean, I happen to agree, FoxNews has been in the tank for Romney from the beginning. Call it what you want but that is NOT "Fair and Balanced".

I'll be nice--what a liberal response. 2 positions/2 identities which each have a standing.

These are very unfortunate comments by Mr. Gingrich. I say that as one of the earliest supporters of Gingrich on these threads and as one who continues to support Gingrich's role from here to the convention as the potential "conscience" of the Republican Party.

Sour grapes is not a substitute for sound wisdom.

The Speaker is correct --- as every Sunday morning
FOX 'News' (fake news)thread has demonstrated.

FOX News's Devoted Romney-Pimp and Anchor-Wife-in-Training:
We at FOX know Mitt Romney has the perfect height.
And his feet are the perfect shape.
And his hair is perfect, too.
Willard smells so good, that Brit Hume and I tingle together.
So why would it matter to us (shameless) Romney-pimps that he imposed RomneyCARE,
gay marriage, AND covered up the BIG DIG?
So why would it matter to us if he lost yet another primary?
Or if we lied about primary results (Iowa)?
Nope. It does not.
Our love at FOX for Mitt Romney is FOREVER
and we will forever proclaim him the "frontrunner"
here at FOX/BAIN News
… even when you laugh on the floor knowing
it is obviously not true.

Newt has been all over the place in the last few weeks. meeting with Romney and declaring that he would support him...that is... until Santorum dropped out.

Here is where the grand opportunist Newt steps in. He is about 5 million in debt, he even bounces checks for a primary he has no chance of winning.

Santorum out? Well, old Newt needs some suckers who still delude themselves into believing he can win it all so he can get those donations to pay off his debt.

Attacking FOX will get him some bucks from the dupes but will do nothing to change his status. Which is washed up.

“Does this mean that Newt will turn down a paycheck from FNC when this is over?”

I’m thinking this means that Newt was not offered nor will be offered in the future a paycheck from FNC.

Good points. Maybe he needs a Newt-PAC :)
My first impression is that it is more Newt sore loser whining. You know him.

One day he is saying he will win in a landslide and the establishment will not admit it, the next he is in sore loser mode blaming others for his losing.

I’ll take Newt over Romney anyday. In fact, I would never vote for Romney anymore than I would vote to put Bloomberg in the WH.

If Obama wins the worst that will happen is a 4 year long vacation in Costa Rica.

Romney is a fake. I wish it were not so but he is.

RE:” Actually I would call it “courageous”. If only Dianne Sawyer or others from the other networks would come out and complain about their networks taking sides... I'd call it a miracle not “lame”.

It's not “courageous” when it's self-serving, which just about everything Newt says is.

RE :” I mean, I happen to agree, FoxNews has been in the tank for Romney from the beginning. Call it what you want but that is NOT “Fair and Balanced ”.

If you once thought that FNC was unbiased then you drank the Republican Koolaid. It is the Republican channel much like MSNBC is the Democrat channel. It is also biased toward Republicans against Democats, so what?

As I recall I remember a number of Palinistas here whining that FNC was 'in the tank' for Perry, back last August,

RDE:”I’ll take Newt over Romney anyday. In fact, I would never vote for Romney anymore than I would vote to put Bloomberg in the WH.

Neither impress me as the least bit honest. Romney is a liberal, and Newt is a pure opportunist.

But the pro-Romney primary voters pretty much stuck with him, as the ABBMR primary voters split the vote and shifted from candidate to candidate. But more recently more and more Republicans jumped on the Romney bandwagon scared (legitimately so) that the extended primary was helping Obama.

I predicted that Romney would win the mid-North Alantic Coast liberal states(primary) and was correct. They were enthused about McCain too,

It would be nice if conservatives realized that the GOP aka Republican Party has never been a conservative party. The closest they came was with Reagan, and he was fought by the GOP.

After Reagan, the GOP went back to republican politics. The Newt Congress victory was a Republican victory because Newt is a republican and is just paying lip service to conservatives to get a following.

What has he done in the last 18 years that is conservative? Plopping down on the couch for Cap & Trade with San Fran Nan, declaring the day of Reagan conservatism over?

Gingrich was by far not the first choice, he was settled upon and pumped up around here as something he never was and would not be if he could get elected. All a person has to do is go back about a year ago. He was deemed a big ole RINO by people on FR. Truth is, he was being your typical GOP politician at the time. He has had to put a hold on his Global Warming book to hide what he really believes. How disingenuous is that?

The closest we came in this race to a conservative was Michele Bachmann who was deemed to intense, whiny, and she wasn't Miss Sarah. Cain? who really knows how conservative he is. Perry? He couldn't keep it together from day one. He acted like he was running for Governor of Texas. St Rick? He could have beaten Romney, but Newt's ego was in the way and St Rick just talked about uterine matters.

And people are all bummed out because they are getting Romney?

You could see the train wreck coming at us at record speed.

Now it is all over but the crying and whining.

RE :”The closest we came in this race to a conservative was Michele Bachmann who was deemed to intense, whiny, and she wasn't Miss Sarah

Looking back I like Bachmann the best of them all, I don't count Palin in this because she never intended on running, nor do I count any others who didnt run. Bachmann is the only one I still enjoy seeing talk on TV.

The ABBMR crowd pretty much abandoned Bachmann as 'unelectable' for Perry, except the die hard Palinistas who waited until she finally admitted she wouldnt run then jumped onto the Newt train believing he was blessed by her.. And he played it up as much as he could as the : “Misunderstood Non-establishment Reagan Conservative who Republican primary voters will choose.”

I never saw Newt as any more electable than Bachmann, and Romney will have his own problems beating Obama.

Newt is a primadonna and just needs to whine. Hannity was in the tank for him from the beginning, but ya don’t see him complaining about that.

A voice of sanity.

One day he is saying he is confident that he will win the primary and no-one but the Reagan conservatives are smart enough to realize it, the next day he is meeting with Romney in secret, the next day he is blaming FNC for his doing so poorly.

Newt's bigger problem is RS kicked his behind and I don't hear this whining from him.

BTW : In the Cult bubble 'whining'='fighting'.

Santorum whined that the media wouldn’t stop beating him up on social issues.

Anytime a candidate whines it isn’t attractive.

Newt is the weaker candidate and his whining reinforces this image among primary voters.

They can choose the whiner or the candidate who looks presidential.

They’ll choose Romney.
