Tonisha Allen and her 1-year-old daughter Jaliyah were asleep when someone fired shots at the small house in the West Pullman neighborhood early this morning, striking the child in the head and Allen in the leg, according to police and relatives.

Tonisha and Jaliyah - why is it that criminals so often shoot women and children with those names, and the self-proclaimed “black leaders” appear not to care? I find this shooting terribly sad, particularly given that no one will make any effort to address the underlying problems. Liberals might use the shooting as yet another excuse to attempt to violate the Second Amendment rights of law abiding citizens, but they won’t support harsh sentences for the actual criminals who shot these two innocent victims.
They should just make all guns illegal in Chicago. That would save so many lives every year.
