Rosen: 'I Apologize to Ann Romney'
Big Government ^ | 04-12-12 | Ben Shapiro

Posted on 04/12/2012 11:00:21 AM PDT by Lazlo in PA

Amid a massive backlash from the American public and a stampeding retreat from her supporters, Democratic National Committee advisor Hilary Rosen backtracked from her words about Ann Romney last night on CNN, stating a few moments ago, “As a pundit, I know my words on CNN last night were poorly chosen … I apologize to Ann Romney.” The report of that statement comes from Jim Acosta at CNN.

The question is whether the Obama campaign and the Democratic National Committee will apologize to Romney, and whether they will fire Rosen over this incident. Rosen has long been associated with the Obama team and the DNC, and her apology means virtually nothing given the fact that she has defended her comments at length over the past 24 hours. Only pressure from inside the Obama campaign and DNC forced this apology. Even then, she apologized to Romney for her wording, not for the point she was making.

There are two issues I have with what Rosen said:
1). Rich is rich. Ann Romney is rich but so were the Kennedy’s and they were the banner children of the poor and down trodden (to the Dems). There are plenty of rich DNC women who have servants,,someone mentioned on another site that Rosen does as well. So,,,,one rich woman acting like another woman should be disqualified re matters important to “average” women is just laughable.,...but
2). Rosen made it personal. The “she never worked a day in her life” was 100% meant to spark jealousy and tie class warfare alongside women’s issues.

There’s alot wrong with what Rosen said. Also, keep in mind, Ann Romney admits she had a financial advantage and I’m sorry,,you say “illness” in such a cavalier manner. One of those illnesses will be with Ann until she dies. Not many moms have that to deal with and no amount of money will take that away. Also, the breast cancer Ann survived is not just an “illness.” It’s cancer and it can be life-threatening. I am not a Romney fan but trying to pit one group of women against another is classic DNC Nasty-101 and Rosen got caught.

I found your post interesting as I had a totally opposite experience. I worked full time untill I was 38 when I became a mom to twin boys. My husband and I decided I would stay home to be a full time mom. I have never worked harder in my life. There were days I did not even get a shower, although I managed to brush my teeth and wash my face! There were no lunch breaks and basically I had to have my kids permission to use the bathroom. They are now 15 and I am still working hard. (Although daily showers are consistant nowadays.) I look back on the days when I was in the work force with much laughter as I thought the same as Rosen. I thought stay at home moms were ladies who lunch and did not do much. BTW, the war on stay at home moms is not “faux” and I am not a one percenter. I disagree strongly that I can not relate to women because I am a full time mom.

Your post is not addressing the issue at all...which is Anne Romney doesn’t know what it is to be in the working class of woman who have to juggle ‘the whole works’ including raising children, and working. Most woman to not have the leizure of that choice and thru no fault of their own.

I will tell you know as you requested.... I would certainly be able to attest to raising my children, with a life threatening disease,... working full-time outside the home while I was being treated throughout my lifetime, and seeing to the affairs of the household, and this after I lost my husband....so you are in no place to judge me on that note.

I KNOW what it is about, and have been on both sides of the equation. There is a huge difference for woman that Anne Romney has never known nor likely will she...and I would not have known or undertood had I not been thrust into it. The most I could do beforehand was empathize with others and help where I could. But I did not, nor can Anne Romney understand the emotionl, physical and mental strains it takes to pull it off that woman have!

I agree Beandog. No woman is forced to have a child or children and being a working mom is not a death sentence, geesh! Aren’t there a lot of working dads? What is with these women that cry and whine how hard it is to work and be a single mom? Tough! Too bad, that’s life. Been there, done that. It’s also wonderfully rewarding and satisfying taking care of the family, both at home AND financially. Ann may never know how that feels. So, she has no clue about how others may feel? Really? she has no friends or knows not one woman that works and raises a family too? I have never been abused but I can surely have sympathy and understanding for those who have. Ann is not saying she is average,,she says she has had a financial advantage. I just don’t buy into the division. Ann isn’t saying she is like the average woman, she is saying she has opinions and understands some struggles that many women have had. So what if she’s rich? That criticism just comes across as jealous and petty.

This was no accident.

You got that right. Rush played a clip today where Obummer set this whole thing in motion in a recent campaign speech. We need to direct the blame squarely at the head of the Rat party now for this line about working mothers. OBAMA. Tie this around his neck.

I will disagree as I've lived on both sides of the financial arena pretaining to woman, as well as married and on my own after I lost my husband.... The most you can do when wealthy is empathasize and help where you see the need. You cannot know womans plight until you've walked it...nor can you understand. But you don't realize this when financial issues are not an issue. You think you know and can understand...but you really and truly do not.

What the witch meant, but knows better than to say out loud is: ‘I was only obeying the order from the Obama campaign to minimize Ann Romney. Next time I will do a better job. Please Barry don’t take me off the WH cocktail party list of invitees.’

I did not hear Rosen’s comments or even read the transcript. I can say, however, that most of the Ann Romney’s, Michelle Obama’s, Laura Bush’s, and Hillary Clinton’s of the world have very little in common with the average stay-at-home mom or working mom. One of my employees, for example, works 40 hours a week for me, while raising two teenage boys and a handicapped daughter, fighting a dead-beat ex-husband for child support, and taking care of her elderly father who just had a stroke. There are no nannies, drivers, or personal assistants to help her out. There is no trust fund, sugar daddy, or endless supply of tax dollars to pay her bills and help make ends meet. The undeniable truth is that the vast majority of the “elite” inside the beltway mom’s, whether they stay at home and raise children or work for a paycheck, or whether they have a “R” or a “D” after their name, have no comprehension of what life is like on Main Street.

Anne Romney left herself wide open when she chose to repond...better would hav been to remain nuetral at most.....Obamas simply seized the opportunity to make themsleves look good to woman....since it is they that now want to cause further division between the Parties. They see a breach or opportunity they’re going to drum beat on it to their favor...and they did.

Imagine Obamas empathizing with Romneys....sounds like a team to me!

You’re all sounding like you’ve swallowed the media that Romneys the winner....a reminder this Primary isn’t over yet...and there’s still a Conservative to vote for.

When are we going to stop letting Obama pick the subject of our daily discussions?

I don't think he picked this discussion. They have been running wild with this War on Women BS since that Fluke woman lied through her teeth. It got so bad that one of these Regime flacks spilled the beans last night on what they really though about mothers. Thanks to the new media, it has been stopped in it's tracks and the Regime is in full retreat. We took this off the table for them because otherwise this nonsense would have gone on through to November. This Rat line wasn't just to destroy Milt to women, we have a lot of other races where this would be an issue like House Reps and Senate races we need to win.

CLass warfare is working....now Obamas got the woman fighting....stay at home moms vs. working moms.

He’s winning the wars if this keeps up. Already pitting races, religions, classes, and now ushering in division among woman....

“A divided nation cannot stand”.....his agenda moves forward.

"Hilary Rosen is a trashy gay lesbian!"

There may be more to that statement than you realize.

Do you all remember when Rosie O'Donnell flipped out on Elizabeth Hasselbeck in May of 2007? Which lead to Rosie's departure from The Spew a month later. Which led to Rosie flipping her sh!t yet again another month later, taking a giant doctored poster of Hasselbeck with drawn-in devil horns on a lesbian cruise ship.

I made the point then, "some of you all are not paying attention"...

Yeah, that's Elizabeth on the left, and Rosie's "ex" Kelli Carpenter on the right. Think maybe Rosie crushed much on Elizabeth (who tried to be nice to the pig)?

Now check this out. Talk about truth is stranger than fiction. Hilary Rosen's "ex" with the kids is Elizabeth Birch, who runs Rosie's bidness ventures!

"In 2004, Birch launched Birch & Company, a consulting firm, with offices in Washington, D.C. and New York. Birch runs Rosie O'Donnell's production company, KidRo Productions, Inc. and oversees O'Donnell's Foundation, The For All Kids Foundation."

Ann Romney on the left, Rosen's "ex" Elizabeth Birch on the right. Now think about it. They could be cousins. Romney looks like what Birch might look like with 50K in upgrades.

So Rosen goes rogue on CNN, insults Ann, goes apeshit on Twitter, and then just a couple of hours later, doubles down with a whiny, rambling diatribe against Ann on HuffPo. All that's missing is a doctored poster!

So an angry gay women's hideous crush on the future First Lady has singularly derailed an incumbent President's re-election meme. Only in America.

What a strange and evasive comment after a genuine attempt to have a rational conversation on a very important topic.

I won't even try to figure out what you meant by doing this. It's just very odd.......

But if you have the time, do check out the interview that Rush played.

Part of his comment in response to it was that parents didn't use to coddle their kids like most do now. Lots of kids raised in comfortable homes had to fend for themselves once they left home, and know very well what it's like to struggle financially.

It could be very instructive for the average American saturated with leftist class warfare propaganda to find out the truth.

btw, Rosen did insult all stay-at-home Moms when she revealed what she really thought, and we conservatives shouldn't let anyone forget it.

The left hates families and women who stay at home to raise them.

That was the attempt, but it didn't work.

Even the Dems are disowning this one.
