Philly Mayor Doesn’t Worry About Terrorists – Because They ‘Wouldn’t Last 15 Minutes’ in Some City Neighborhoods By Penny Starr April 12, 2012

(CNSNews.com) – The violence on inner-city streets is the real “domestic terrorism,” says Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter.

“I never worried much about al-Qaeda in West Philly, because Osama bin Laden wouldn’t last 15 minutes in some of the neighborhoods that I represent,” Nutter said at a recent summit on preventing youth violence in Washington.

“But I do have to worry about Pookie, Man Man and Junebug,” Nutter added. “They are domestic terrorists. They prevent my children from being out in the street playing. They prevent my seniors from going to their meetings. They prevent good, hard-working citizens from going to work.”

Nutter compared the number of people killed by al-Qaeda on Sept. 11, 2001 (2,977, he said) with the number of individuals murdered last year in some U.S. cities -- 515 people in New York City, 63 in Boston, 24 in Trenton, 108 in Washington, D.C., 196 in Baltimore, 324 in Philly, 298 in Los Angeles, 344 in Detroit, 199 in New Orleans, 433 in Chicago, 87 in Atlanta, 91 in Newark, for a total of 2,660, according to Nutter's tally.

Well..this is the city where a mayor burned down an entire city block by dropping a makeshift bomb from a helicopter....

They certainly wouldn't last long near any of the scores of “mosques” in the city.Or would they?

Well, he’s honest. And I’m sure Pookie, Man Man and Junebug have a much greater impact on the life of Philadelphia than al Qaeda. Good to hear someone say that letting local residents turn their cities into war zones has got to stop.

... and this is what passes for an “intelligent” democrat.

Let me break it down for ya, Mayor:

When terrorists attack, they kill RANDOM people, the majority of whom are good, productive citizens.
When your thugs attack, they generally kill other thugs who were going to eventually kill some other thug anyway.

Are you pickin’ up what I'm layin’ down?

Michael, Michael. If OBL wanted to “make a statement” in Philadelphia his probably target would be an office building and his method would be a truck-bomb or an aircraft. He needn’t walk the streets of Philadelphia to accomplish his mission.

I will give Nutter some credit; this is not the first time he has made the connection between the problems of the inner city and the residents of the inner city. He may be clueless, or even 180 degrees out-of-phase about potential solutions, but at least he’s got the courage and clarity to identify and name the problem.

Eh. I worked in Philly. I kind of see his point, sort of, if I squint real hard and turn my head sideways. Inarticulate as he is, gang bangers probably do kill more people each year in the US than has any international terror group. And they aren’t always killing other gang bangers either.

The problem though won’t be solved by law enforcement. All that can do is keep it to a low boil and mostly bottled up in the cities. The real problem is the welfare state and what it has done to finance and promote the destruction of the family and to give rise hideous social pathologies.

This is a problem 45 years in the making, and it will take longer than that to correct. You’d have to re-create a civilization where none now exists. I’d say look to Afghanistan for a harbinger of what our chances are. In fact, the most daunting nation-building task we now face is right there in the urban poverty belt of our cities.

So if all cities/neighborhoods become post-apocalyptic wastelands of ruined buildings stalked by morally devolved humans - they too may be spared by al-Qaeda?

He’s right.
Read up on the Bombay terrorist attack. The perps had absolute free reign. There were no cops and no armed citizens.

Of course in the case of my neighborhood, it would not be terrorists, it would be zombie spillover from Nutter’s neighborhoods. And Nutter’s constituents wouldn’t live long enough to bleed.

One thing about Philly—those folks sure are civic minded.

Poll results in November will be over 110% of registered voters, easy.

It’s the Philly way.

Gangbangers usually end up killing more innocent bystanders than each other. Gangbangers and Jihadis have the same marksmanship skills, they do not use their sights.
