Technically “working” means drawing a paycheck from an external source, so no. That’s always been the distinction, “working mothers” are not “housewives” because one is drawing a paycheck and one isn’t.

Ah, get ready for the most vicious presidential election cycle any of us have ever seen. The left and media are going to do anything and everything to keep Hussein in office. Yes, every 4 years people say it will be the nastiest election ever - but this time it really will be worse than anything we’ve ever seen. The left has their black socialist in the office, and the only way they can win is go entirely negative.
When one is employed one receives a paycheck. Working however does not mean one is employed and receiving a paycheck, much work (and life) goes on outside of employment time.
By denotation yes. By connotation not always, and specifically not in this example. Women that get the “working mother” label get it because they have an external paycheck spawning job, women that get the labels “housewife” or “stay at home mother” don’t. Been that way for longer than I’ve been alive, probably longer than you’ve been alive too.
