Newt Gingrich Unloads on Fox News in Private Meeting: ‘CNN is Less Biased than FOX this year’

RealClearPolitics had access to a meeting in Dover, Delaware Wednesday held by Newt Gingrich. During the get-together with members of the Delaware Tea Party, Gingrich, a former Fox News analyst, lambasted the channel.

“I think FOX has been for Romney all the way through,” said Gingrich, adding, “Callista and I both believe CNN is less biased than FOX this year. We are more likely to get neutral coverage out of CNN than we are of FOX, and we’re more likely to get distortion out of FOX. That’s just a fact.”

Gingrich revealed he’s been invited by CNN to one of their tables at an upcoming political correspondents dinner. “The only press events I go to are interesting dinners when the wife insists on it, so we’re going to go to the White House Correspondents’ dinner because she wants to. And we’re actually going to go to CNN’s table, not FOX.”

CNN fair and balanced? LOL! The entire lineup from 6m - 10pm is Team Obama. Newt has jumped the shark.

The All Dem Lineup: Soledaid OBrien, Carol Costello, Kyra Phillips, Susan Malvieux, Don Lemon, Wolf Blitzer, John King, Anderson Cooper, Piers Morgan.

“The only thing I am unsure of is if FOX actually wants Romney, or if they want the weakest candidate to face 0bama.”

No, I wouldn’t go that far. There are still plenty of those on FNC whose genuine dislike of, and opposition to, BHO are vehement and constant. I just think they’re buying into the concept of Mittens being the “most electable and most likely to defeat Obama”. It amazes me how many otherwise intelligent people can be so misguided and wrong about that. Or maybe they just know the power of the RNC/establishment in deciding the candidate.

Freepers who continue to believe that they are on "our" side are fooling themselves.

You're certainly correct. Good arguments have been made that Fox is a liberal organ. Not necessarily in what it espouses, but that it serves as a lightning rod for conservatives; deciding what issues are given priority, highlighted, and discussed; and mainly moving focus away from more important issues and herding the masses.

In the past 10 years I’ve only turned to CNN on handful of occasions like when I hear about some breaking news on the internet and Fox is on a commercial.

Newt tells us he’s a died in the wool Conservative. Then he turns around and considers taking a position at CNN.

I don’t watch CNN very much, but I do tune in enough to know that the network is still a Leftist stronghold.

Don’t know about you (well I think I do actually), but I couldn’t be affiliated with CNN at all. I doubt you could either.

Once Fox settled on Romney, Newt has been pushed aside. He is the only candidate that can talk details and makes sense. Romney is trying really hard to be a real conservative, but he can’t really come up with an original idea. I’m sick about it, really. Newt is a strategic thinker, but the media has taken charge and assassinated him and given itself the most vulnerable opponent for Obama. Hopefully, Obama will be viewed as so bad that Romney will win anyway. He just reminds me so much of John Edwards and two Americas—Slick good looking, but corrupt to the core. Hope he doesn’t have any love children out there because the etchasketch won’t clear them away. He is a vicious Mormon who has brutally smeared his opposition, but it looks like we are stuck with him.

Newt has a slim chance yet, but all the establishment Repubs all line up for Romney. CNN will pull quite a coup if Newt ends up as a commentator for them. Fox sure has thrown him under the bus. Newt=$2.50/gallon.
