nfrastructure challenges in western North Dakota could limit the number of oil and gas drilling rigs in the Bakken systems rich Williston Basin, industry executives said at a conference.
As companies have flocked to tap resources there, heavy equipment has overwhelmed roads while workers have filled up available housing. The problem is more acute in North Dakota than Montana, said Mark Williams, senior vice president of exploration and development at Whiting Petroleum Corp.
There are close to 220 drilling rigs in the Williston Basin. We could easily double the number of rigs, purely based on resources, Williams said.
However, he guessed growth could be capped at 300 rigs in the next few years until infrastructure can catch up.

Sounds like good news for South Bend- Mishawaka-Elkhart-Goshen. Then there are the “drop box” portable shower-toilet facilities ~ see: http://www.dropboxinc.com/shipping/container/modification/blog/?Tag=decontamination%20station
Lots of different businesses see growth with increased drilling.
HELP WANTED: THE NORTH DAKOTA BOOM
http://www.newgeography.com/content/002501-help-wanted-the-north-dakota-boom
There should be plenty of trailers on empty lots in New Orleans.
I believe all those FEMA trailers were auctioned off quite a while ago.
I thought those FEMA trailers were full of formaldehyde.
I know in this area that the drilling companies will pay anything to get things repaired ASAP when they break.
$200 an hour is nothing to those guys when they have broken rig and crew setting idle.
I am selling monthly to companies in the Boise valley that are manufacturing Man-Camp buildings. They are built 12’ in width and 48’ in length to fit on a standard length trailer.
These are going to Alberta, ND and MT.
I am also selling a company that makes swamp matts or drilling rig mats. These are mainly ending up in Alberta and SK.
These companies have become my largest customers in the last two years. What people do not realize is the far reaching economic impact the oil boom is having throughout the economy of North America. I am buying lumber from sawmills in CA,OR,WA,MT,ID and Canada. I am in NH selling a customer in ID who is suppling a factory in ID to make a product(temporary housing) to go to ND. There are hundreds of people and families getting a benefit from oil production. It is not just the wheat farmer in ND that was smart enough not to sell his mineral rights 30 years ago.
We have a customer in Bismarck that has opened a reload on the BNSF just to unload pipe , drilling sand, drilling mud and other commodities needed to drill for oil. He was just a small town lumber yard three years ago with 6 employees. Now he employs over 30 people.

Golly. Who could have wanted those nasty, racist trailers?

Indeed. Domestic energy harvesting in general.
If we are able to rein in our currently utterly INSANE levels of government spending, we might just survive an economic cataclysm. Given the cowardice, evil intentions, and stupidity of the people we elect, I am not hopeful.
Well, me for one. I bought a FEMA trailer that was used in 2004 for some remote property.
It is okay for the occasional use, more like Deer Camp lodging.
I was joking.
I actually thought they were pretty nice.
I hope you got a good deal.
Okay deal.
Another company bought a few hundred, fixed most us, scavenged some for parts. I bought from them.
