MONSTERS IN THE CLASSROOM:NYC TEACHERS UNION REINSTATES ALLEGED MOLESTERS

What are parents to do when their child comes home from school with stories about "this creepy guy in my class" – and it turns out to be the teacher?

That’s a very real concern for parents with children in New York City public schools, where 14 teachers of highly dubious character have been reinstated to the classroom – and two others have been given "desk duty" – thanks to appeals by their powerful teachers union, the United Federation of Teachers.

NYDailyNews.com reports that 16 teachers "kept their jobs after being brought up on egregious charges, some sexual, some involving excessive personal familiarity with students."

A few examples:

Gym and health teacher Willie Laraque was charged with bending a male student over a desk, leaning in to him and saying, "I’ll show you what is gay." The Daily News reports Laraque is back in the classroom after paying a $10,000 fine.

Norman Siegel, a high school teacher, was accused of pressing his genitalia against a female student’s leg. Siegel only received a 45-day unpaid suspension, "although the arbitrator found that the girl’s charge was likely true" and that Siegel "was previously accused of a similar offense," the Daily News writes.

There’s also a case involving Edward Cascio, a gym teacher who accepted pornographic pictures from a student – of another student. Cascio was back at work after serving his three-month suspension.

The district tried to fire these individuals, but the UFT appealed the decisions to arbitrators, who gave the teachers their jobs back.

It is hard to quantify the damage that the teachers’ unions have done to this country. they should be illegal. Period.

Leave it to the union to give decent teachers a bad name.

Why is it that the union sticks up for the worst of its members instead of the best?

I’ve never understood why a union would want it’s reputation as being for the crook, the pervert, the malingerer, the goof-off, the slob.

Say the word “union” and that’s the kind of image that comes to mind.

Teachers **are** the union! Teachers are responsible for making their unions what they are. Teachers **willingly** seek a job that is controlled by these corrupt organizations. Teachers **willingly** vote for their representatives to these unions. No one is holding a gun to their heads.

Parents, legislators, taxpayers, and certainly the children have absolutely NO influence over the unions. If teachers unions are evil, it is because teachers made them evil and want them to continue to be evil.

How any parent can justify not homeschooling their children is beyond my understanding...

Unless you are functionally illiterate teaching your child is only a matter of love, work, learning, and dedication

I know there are many great and wonderful teachers caught in the same monstrous oligarchy known as the teachers unions...

Yes, my wife and I home schooled six children...we gave up many things in life to do it...so I know where I speak from

teachers feeding at the public trough is more important than the students not getting assaulted

I am too ignorant to home school. My kid goes to a very pricy private school with the 1 percent’s kids. Reason: the public school quality was awful

I grew up respecting teachers as they should be....

however, I am appalled for what passes now for the teaching profession...

I know there are a lot of good people teaching...

but the good people had better start standing up to be counted because your profession is dying a slow death to shame and incompetance...

one other thing....every public school teacher should be required to have his own kids in the school district where he or she teachers....

maybe the fear of having your own kids at the hands of some of these monsters will bring the light of day....

Point made....but my intent was the same..

By whatever means: home school or private school, nobody can justify putting their children in a public school system...

I know there are many great and wonderful teachers caught in the same monstrous oligarchy known as the teachers unions...
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

There are no great and wonderful government teachers. Why?

1) All government owned and run K-12 schools in this nation are godless in their worldview. Merely to cooperate in the classroom the child must learn to think and reason godlessly. It is evil to force this godless worldview on children and it is evil to force the citizen to pay for it. Good teachers would never **willingly** seek a job that did this to children.

2) All government K-12 schools in this nation are socialist entitlements. Merely by attending children risk learning that the voting mob has given them tuition-free schooling. Well?...Why not use that voting mob to get **lots** of “free” stuff? No good teacher would **willingly** seek a job that would teach this socialist lesson to children.

3) All government owned and run K-12 schools in this nation trash every First Amendment Right. Speech, press, assembly, and exercise of religion is **strictly** controlled by government functionaries in every government K-12 school in this nation. In many way, children are treated like prisoners. Simply by attending children risk learning to be a good little prisoner of the state. Good teachers would never **willingly** seek a job that teaches this lesson to children

4) Unless a parent can pay the jizya or ransom needed to home or private school, children are compelled to attend their government assigned prison ( oops! “school”). By doing so, they risk learning to be good little prisoners of the state. Good teachers would never cooperate with this or willingly seek a job with such an abomination.

Finally....If true tyranny comes to the U.S. the oligarchy will not use cattle cars to ship the dissidents off to the concentration camps. Instead, they will use big yellow school buses and the sheeple will compliantly board them. Baaaa!

Personally, I have recently made a decision. Government schooling is such a threat to our nation's children and our continuing freedom that I doubt our republic can withstand even on more generation of its indoctrination. I will no longer have a government K-12 school employee for a friend. I am done with them! They are either too stupid or too evil to be a friend.

I have been hammered by other Freepers for using the words “all” and “never”, so if anyone can provide a link to a government owned K-12 school that is not godless, a socialist entitlement, and that does not trash First Amendment Rights please provide a link and I will sincerely and immediately apologize.

Please read my post #12.

There are no good government K-12 socialist-entitlement teachers. In post #12 I explain why this is so.

Though I agree with all your points.....and you certainly have a right to disassociate from all K-12 people as friends....

There are people in the school system who also understand the nature of the beast that employs them and are standing in the gap to stem the tide....they have put their entire lives into teaching and wake up one day 20 years later to find a monster has encamped on their front door....

It is not an easy choice to give up years of work....and accomplishment simply to make a statement your union sucks and the system is broken....

Where would the kids whose parents could care less if their children were ill educated if some decent teachers did not care......?

Liberals name “freedom” being free of moral constraint and sexual taboos. That includes those who are sexually orientated towards children. That is why the homos are in the classrooms with kiddie sex clubs and preaching their perversions with a bullying, dominate spirit. To reject them or obstruct them is said to be illegal religion “hate.”

Here’s a question:

What if all the years of energy, work, dedication, and caring exerted by well meaning but Useful Idiot government teachers had been directed at closing down the government schools and organizing a system of universal privatized education?

Would our nation’s children be better off or worse off?

By the way, I wonder. How many spouses of ministers work in the godless government schools? This would be an interesting statistic to know. How many ministers refrain from starting church schools because they fear offending the many government school employees ( and their families) who are sitting in the pews putting money in the collection plate? In my county, the government school district in the single largest employer. No other business comes close.

Why is it that the union sticks up for the worst of its members instead of the best?

Because the good members DON'T NEED a union. It's the bad members who need the union, and most importantly will work hard to keep the union around and look out for union interests.

Long ago, I worked at a unionized place. The dumbest, most incompetent guy was the union shop steward.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Should decent, hard working, caring people work in abortion centers, order the supplies, and hand the instruments to the abortionist, on the hope that they might reach a few women and save a few babies?

Government schools are so evil for the child and such a threat to the freedom of our nation that I doubt our Republic will survive one more generation of indoctrinated voters. I also bet if the government schools were shut down the number of abortion each year would drop like a rock.
