A Ringgold man is recuperating from a gunshot wound after being shot in the chest by another man after the two were arguing.
According to Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office reports:
Robert Wilson, 37, of Ringgold, was shot in the chest Sat-urday afternoon, April 7, by a man who was doing yard work for Wilson’s next-door neighbor.
The shooter, Dustin Talley of Fort Oglethorpe, was not arrested and is not currently facing any charges.
Talley told police that he was acting in self-defense.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to 63 Karen Drive in Ringgold about 12:45 p.m. on April 7 in regards to the call of a gunshot victim.
Wilson was taken to Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, while deputies took statements from several eyewitnesses who had gathered around the scene.
One witness “stated that she came outside and saw Wilson striking his truck, his wife telling him he was too drunk to drive, and that she was not going to give him the keys,” deputy Brandy Davis wrote in the report. “The witness then stated that Wilson’s wife started walking away when Wilson began to follow her, then stopped at 63 Karen Drive and started arguing with Mr. Talley.”
The witness claims that Tally eventually dropped the weed trimmer he was holding, pulled a gun out of his pocket and shot Wilson as he was walking toward him.
Two additional witnesses confirmed that the story un-folded in that same fashion but that they couldn’t hear the words being spoken between Wilson and Talley before the shot rang out.
Wilson’s wife stated that she and her husband were not fighting before the shooting as was stated by witnesses, but did admit that the two men were indeed arguing about the weed trimmer, reports show.

if you saw the small airport in Lafayette lit up at 2AM and sheriff's cars in the lot...they weren't there to bust anybody ...I'll put it that way...they were helping unload the groupers for their payoff
it was a like a pit stop from Santa Marta or Jamaica or the Bahamas...wide open
some of them went to jail over all that I think in late 80s
