A 20-year-old man injured in a Friday evening shooting was the 36th victim of gang violence this year.

Portland police said Marquis Glover of Northeast Portland was shot several times but is expected to survive the injuries.

Police said Glover was playing basketball at Rice Elementary School’s outdoor courts when he got into a fight with the shooting suspect.

The suspect was described as an African American man in his late teens or early 20s wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.

Marquis Glover? A nobleman? Perhaps it was a duel.

I hope the shooter got a technical and was ejected from the game. Schools, after all, are gun free zones.

an African American man in his late teens or early 20s wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.

The number of "teens" matching that description on any given day across the urban U.S., especially in warm weather, would fill many football stadiums. If you're inclined to commit crimes in groups, this is what you wear to make identification difficult or impossible.

Additional information: the T-shirt is at least two sizes too big, and he's also wearing white low-cut sneakers. In Philadelphia at least, this three-piece ensemble is so common that it is known as "The Uniform", and is even offered in some of the less reputable neighborhood stores at a discount when all three pieces are bought at the same time.
