Taliban Launches Largest Attack On Kabul In 11 Years Government areas in Kabul and several other key locations in Afghanistan rocked by gunfire and explosions

In a brazen demonstration of its ability to hit some of the best defended targets in Kabul, the Taliban mounted its largest ever co-ordinated attack in 11 years of resistance to Afghanistan's post-2001 rulers.
Dozens of fighters launched gun, rocket and suicide attacks on embassies, Nato bases, parliament and government buildings in the capital, as well as Nato targets in three eastern provinces, in what a spokesman called a "spring offensive" to demonstrate its strength. Five hours later, as dusk fell, gun battles were still raging in Kabul. The British embassy was among the targets, but insurgents succeeded only in damaging a gate.
Nato forces quickly dismissed the attacks as "largely ineffective" and emphasised that it was Afghan army forces, not Nato units, that dealt with the onslaught. Afghan units had sustained "light casualties while killing or capturing many of the suicide attackers in a matter of hours."
Witnesses reported seeing some bodies in the street, but there was no official word on any deaths. The Taliban said that the attacks, which were two months in the planning, served to show the insurgency "can attack anywhere we want". The attacks resembled an audacious assault in September when gunmen stormed an abandoned, half-built tower from where they fired rockets at the US embassy, prompting a 20-hour siege by Afghan special forces.

Someone dig up Walter Cronkite. He can tell us the war is lost
It’s no wonder. Maybe now O’Bummer will allow our troops to shoot back by changing his rules of engagement back to something sensible.
It’s no wonder the suicide rate in our troops is so high. All the competent commanders have jumped ship and we are ending up with the O’Bummer Brown Nose Squad at the top now!
The Tahleebahn are his people, so why would he want to win?
Pray for our Troops!!!
Americans aren’t idiots but they might as well be.
Of course Obama is working for the Muzzies, he is doing everything a Muzzie radical would do.
Libya to radical Sharia nuts.
Egypt to Muzzie Brotherhood, sworn to destroy Israel
Iraq abandoned to terrorists.
The Russians lost in Afghanistan, Obama wants the US to be defeated also.
Destroying America economically, socially and militarily, $Trillion dollars every chance he gets.
Get out. Can anyone give me a hint on why would be spending another trillion on this absurd effort?
Seriously, 100 guys attack accross the AOR and we need to surrender?
The money gets wasted due to holding back the troops instead of letting them fight. When they’re allowed to fight, the Taliban got blown away like tumbleweeds. Now the military has to suffer through liberal restraint, or else the lib media will start portraying them as murderers and monsters again.
A whole bunch of men escaped a Pakistan prison just this weekend.
Obama losing Afghanistan? Is anyone surprised?
Yes, the Great Tet Offensive of 2012 in Afghanistan.
Like the one in Vietnam in 1968, it will be a military failure at great cost to the Taliban, but a military victory in the media of the mainstream media and TV news.
There is no statute of limitation on stupidity, ignorance, and hatred of America, by the American media.
Ain't that the truth!!!....Where is Gen. Curtis LeMay when u need him!!....He told them the truth about the only way to win in Viet Nam!!!
What a fool. Anyone can attack anywhere they want - especially if you're using suicide troops to do it. The question is, how effective is it, and at what cost?
The fact that hussein is losing to idiots like this should tell us all we need to know about hussein as CIC. hussein has some absolutely criminal ROE in place that are costing us lives and excessive casualties. FUBO
