The threat to the freedom of the internet comes, he claims, from a combination of governments increasingly trying to control access and communication by their citizens, the entertainment industry's attempts to crack down on piracy, and the rise of "restrictive" walled gardens such as Facebook and Apple, which tightly control what software can be released on their platforms.

If this is something hussein is pushing, or his cohorts in crime... Then you can be fairly certain the truth is just about exactly the opposite. Whatever hussein and Google want to do to address this alleged issue (crisis anyone?), you can be sure that their actions will be the real threat to freedom and liberty.
That’s pretty faint condemnation coming from a company that specialized in violating the privacy of its users.
Google is as sleazy as Microsoft...albeit with a bit more tech talent.
Maybe because he wants to smear Apple, as it competes with his Android product?
He’s talking about Apple’s iOS restrictions which - coupled with iTunes and the App Store - creates a huge, restricted web-presence.
Apple has censored “conservative” apps.
I think the point he’s making is only half-valid, though.
