An Army soldier who lost his arms and legs during his third tour in Afghanistan last week underwent surgery Monday as supporters from around the globe offer prayers and messages of hope on a family website.
Army Staff Sgt. Travis Mills, of Vassar, Mich., was injured when he stepped on an IED April 10 while serving with the 82nd Airborne in Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom. He is recuperating at a hospital in Germany and hopes to return stateside on Tuesday, three days after his 25th birthday, his father told FoxNews.com.

Thank you both. Will definitely holler again, when next we hear from Kelsey or the folks.
May God bless and keep them.
The latest Travis update....
Thank you so much for the updates! Prayers continue...
Thanks so very much for the ping and the updates. Prayers continue of course.
Thank you for the updates.
Prayers continue for Travis....
Thank you, to all of you! I have been checking and praying, and checking and praying. What it the saying? P.U.S.H. - Pray Until Something Happens.
Dear Lord, hear our humble prayers.
P.U.S.H.ing hard here too.
Thanks so much, amom. Here is Kelsey’s latest update. so very glad and grateful, that Travis does not seem to be in as much pain, and am in awe of the strength of this young wife and mother.
UPDATE FROM KELSEY MILLS (5/11 @ 9:00PM CDT)
The ketamine is still leaving Travis’s system, so he is “tripping” hard right now. He’s made no complaints of pain yet, but he is very heavily medicated.
Dear Lord, hold them close, so they may rest easy when they grow weary.
Happy Mother’s Day and Praise God! Ping!!!
Wonderful update, and a picture, but due to my poor HTML skills, a link to the site will have to do for now, laughs. If any one could post it to the thread, I would be FOREVER grateful :) And while we are at it, does posting “All” in the posting to box really work, or am I simply deluding myself, rather sheepish look.
Here is the link to a picture of this amazing young man, and his wonderful family. Thank you Lord, thank you, for young people such as these, and, for answered prayers.
UPDATE FROM KELSEY MILLS (5/13 @ 3:30PM CDT)
A great first mother’s day lunch in the courtyard. Check out the picture. Travis and Chloe also got me these beautiful earrings. And more good news... As of right now, Travis has had zero phantom pain as well!
UPDATE FROM KELSEY MILLS (5/13 @ 8:30AM CDT)
Travis is talking better today. He’s much more alert. He slept for two and a half hours but had an awful nightmare. He is still slightly hallucinating, but he’s much better than the past few days. He is wanting to get in his wheelchair and go down to the basement for lunch with me, Chloe, all of our parents, Josh, Deanna, and Reagan!
Thank you ALL for all of your prayers, and again, thank you Lord, for blessings where we least expect them.
Thank you so much for the updates! Prayers continue...
>> “Afghanistan and Iraq and the Middle East in general are not worth the sacrifices our military has made” <<
Dittos to infinity!
Thank ya’ll SO much for the replies, and the wonderful prayers!
Here is another great update. This young couple and their families have so inspired me... Truly Lord, this country cannot fail so long as there are young men and women such as these.
UPDATE FROM KELSEY MILLS (5/14 @ 8:15PM CDT)
“”Today was overall a good day! Travis went to physical therapy after begging his doctor to let him go. Todd Nicely (a quad amputee that has been incredibly supportive) was here to visit with Travis for a while, and that was really inspiring! Then the English’s from Fort Bragg stopped in, as well as Aunt Lisa, Tory, and Bobby. We have had a very very busy and eventful day. The thing we are looking for now is a good long night of sleep! Travis has surgery at 10:00am to do a “skin revision” on his left arm and have the sutures removed!””
Thank you Lord, for blessings without number.
Thanks for the post and ping to this wonderful good news. Prayers continue for this brave family and their friends everywhere.
They are in my thoughts and prayers every day.
Semper Fi Marine.
Good morning and good news :) Thank You Lord for prayerful FRiends!

Dear Lord, thank you for strengthening and lifting up Travis and Kelsey!

Hey all! Doing well! Boy, my wife’s a champion! Thanks for all the moral support. I don’t log onto Facebook a lot, so sorry I haven’t answered any messages. I will talk to all of you later. Once again, thanks, and have a good day.

A couple recent pictures of Travis!
Last but not least, please take a peek at this site, http://www.niceshirt.org/shop/index.php/?___store=travismills - noted towards the close of the WNEM article. They have tee shirts and hoodies, (several colors), and a donation button as well, AND will donate ALL proceeds to Travis! Hurry though, as I think it is a limited time offer : o
Thank you ALL so much for your continued prayers on Travis’ and Kelsey’s behalf, and Lord, thank You for other windows opening, where some doors close.
May each day find us a better servant of Your will.
Thank you so much for keeping us informed! Prayers continue...
Eeek! Sorry I am so behind here : o Drove 5 hours there, and then 5 hours back for our state GOP thingy, and am rather unsuccessfully trying to get back into the groove, sheepish look.
The GREAT news is that Travis has been working VERY hard and has made truly inspiring progress!!
Thank You Heavenly Father, for amazing young men such as this.
UPDATE FROM TEAM MILLS (5/21 @ 3:30PM CDT)
You’ve got to see Travis’s very first video update! Video was taken by Kelsey and shared in the Facebook support group earlier today. Simply amazing, Travis! Keep it up!
UPDATE FROM KELSEY MILLS (5/20 @ 6:30PM CDT)
This weekend has been very adventurous! We went into downtown Bethesda yesterday on the Metro for lunch. That was stressful! Then last night the doctor let Travis come stay the night at the Fisher House with us. Went to Target today and now chinese take-out for dinner. Travis is staying over again tonight!
UPDATE FROM KELSEY MILLS (5/18 @ 10:00PM CDT)
Travis is doing very well. The past three nights we have all had dinner together at the Fisher House (where we are staying) next to the hospital! His friends TJ and Aaron got in today, and he has had a nice visit. Mom and Matt will be here tomorrow and then Aunt Lisa and Tory are leaving Sunday. The support we are receiving is very overwhelming, and the majority of Travis’s time is focused on therapy and getting well. We are prioritizing the valuable visiting time for family and close friends. Thank you so much again for continued support and prayers.
UPDATE FROM KELSEY MILLS (5/18 @ 12:00PM CDT)
Here’s a couple more pictures of Travis. The first picture is from a visit with a couple top Australian officials. The other is with some members of the Washington Nationals baseball team.
UPDATE FROM TEAM MILLS (5/17 @ 7:45PM CDT)
Team Mills members in Michigan want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone that came out last night for the fundraising event at Buffalo Wild Wings! The fundraiser was a tremendous success, and there are still more events to come. Be sure to check out the fundraisers page so you don’t miss out.
UPDATE FROM KELSEY MILLS (5/17 @ 12:00PM CDT)
Travis was a beast today in physical therapy! We went down to check out the bigger gym, and we went to the barber shop!
Here is a direct link to the update page, for more pictures and a link to Travis’ video update.
As always, thank you all SO much, for all of your prayers and support for this young warrior.
Thanks so much for the bump E.G.C., and thanks also for the informational blog. Will definitely bookmark it for future readings :)
May God bless and keep you.
Thanks for the link! Prayers continue...
Catching up on Lots of Good news Ping!
Travis, Kelsey, Chloe, and Co. have been VERY busy, and the best part is that many of their adventures have been taking place OUTSIDE of the hospital!!
Read it and weep ya’ll....with JOY :)
Heavenly Father, thank you for Travis and Kelsey.
Thank you E.G.C. :) I just checked on the updates, figuring there wouldn’t be one until after Memorial day, but I could not have been more wrong. I have included the link to the page again, because there are more pictures and reminders for local events, but I just had to share two updates that could not have been more appropriate for THIS Memorial Day Weekend.
*The emphasis in Josh’s update is mine...
UPDATE FROM TEAM MILLS (5/26 @ 9:00AM CDT)
Just wanted to encourage Travis’s many supporters to visit TaylorMorris.org, a site dedicated to another solider severely wounded in action on May 3rd. Taylor is currently at Walter Reed on his own road to recovery. We also encourage you to join Taylor’s Facebook support group to follow his progress. We thank Taylor for his service and wish him a speedy recovery.
UPDATE FROM JOSH BUCK (5/25 @ 10:30PM CDT)
Had a good time with Travis today. His improvement in just two weeks is incredible. THE TALIBAN TRULY DO NOT KNOW THE STRENGTH OF THEIR ENEMY. Even in our darkest of times, we have the will power and technology to overcome anything they throw at us. All of our wounded warriors are to be admired. But this weekend, Monday in particular, we need to think and pray about our warriors who weren’t fortunate enough to be counted among the wounded and joined the ranks of our honored dead. So this Monday, as you cookout and drink beer, raise your glasses in a toast that is over a century old but was used commonly among WW1 aviators, “a drink to the dead already, and here’s to the next man who dies.” I will never forget my fallen brothers. Rest in peace.
May God bless and keep them, every one.
Oops : / Forgot the link to the updated Update page, lol.
Have a blessed, and thoughtful Memorial Day Weekend ya’ll.
Thank you for the update. Prayers continue...
If you liked that, wait until you see these two, lol. I had to watch the first video twice to catch what happened at the end, but once I did, it made the second clip all the funnier/sweeter. What an awesome God, to strengthen and heal Chloe’s dad so he could come home, and begin her driver safety lessons :)
UPDATE FROM TEAM MILLS (5/27 @ 9:15AM CDT) Two videos of Travis giving driving lessons to Chloe just posted on the Facebook support page by Josh Buck. Thanks for sharing those, Josh. You can get to them directly by clicking here for first video or clicking here for the second video. Enjoy!
This young man and his family has given me SO much hope. Thank you Heavenly Father, for amazing young people such as these.
Well shoot, my durn link didn’t work : /
Here is a link to the update page.
