I voted for Gingrich in the Massachusetts primary back in early March. There's nothing I can really do now but watch the rest of the primaries unfold and unless we start seeing upsets of epic, historic proportions in the remaining primaries, Romney is unfortunately going to coast to the GOP nomination.

I do believe it's third party time. The GOP has been serving us up RINO presidential nominees since 1988. And as much as I liked Reagan, he did not do us any favors by choosing RINO George Bush as his running mate in 1980. (The VP slot on the ticket matters!)

Sarah Palin/Allen West is my dream 3rd Party ticket - that I would crawl through broken glass for - but there are other combinations that can get the job done in 2012 and it's not too late. At this juncture in 1992, nobody knew who Ross Perot was but by June, he was leading both Bush and Clinton in most polls. If not for the Perot campaign imploding and some rather odd behavior on the part of Perot that has still not been explained, I think he could have pulled it out. As it was, he still ended up with 20% of the vote which tells you even back then how hungry the American people were for a legitimate third party candidate.

Whether or not a legitimate third party option arises, I am going to take your advice on the downticket races as our best shot to minimize or even neutralize the damage of Romney presidency or a second Obama term is to INCREASE GOP majority in the House and GAIN GOP majority in the Senate by electing as many Tea Party candidates as we can.

Probe: Mitt missed chance to keep Tavares jailed - Could have nixed killer’s early exit

"Former Gov. Mitt Romney’s administration failed to act on disciplinary recommendations
that would have kept ex-con killer Daniel Tavares locked up another year -
and behind bars at the time he was accused of killing a newlywed couple in Washington state."

"Despite Tavares’ long history of violence, the Romney-led Department of Correction
took no action on recommendations that he be stripped of “good time” because
of assaults on prison guards in 2003 and 2005, said sources familiar with a state probe into the case."

Once again as Romney let conservatism slide (never had it anyway)

Romney Rewards one of the State's Leading Anti-Marriage Attorneys by Making him a Judge
Romney told the U.S. Senate on June 22, 2004, that the "real threat to the States is not the
constitutional amendment process, in which the states participate,
but activist judges who disregard the law and redefine marriage . . ."
Romney sounds tough but yet he had no qualms advancing the legal career of one
of the leading anti-marriage attorneys. He nominated Stephen Abany to a District Court.
Abany has been a key player in the Massachusetts Lesbian and Gay Bar Association which,
in its own words, is "dedicated to ensuring that the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court decision
on marriage equality is upheld, and that any anti-gay amendment or legislation is defeated."

Fair enough. Wondering why everyone was trying so hard to win the nomination if it doesn't mean anything.

That sort of intellectual dishonesty is unbecoming on you. You know full well that many of us are rallying around the only conservative left in the race.

The nomination means everything. If Romney gets it, America loses, no matter who wins in the Fall. If Newt gets it, the whole ugly picture shifts 180 degrees over the next four years, because he'll beat the ever-lovin' snot out of Obama and go on to enact a true reform agenda.

I wonder what he means. Assuming he means he’s gone one way or the other in 2012 or 2016, but hoping he didn’t mean he is there to stay, but there won’t be anymore elections.

If you’re urging people to vote for Romney, you’re a RINO pusher. Worse, you give your consent to the GOP in supporting abortion, tax payer funded abortion, teaching sodomy to school children (the homosexual agenda), homos leading scouts astray, homos in the military, hate crimes, liberal activist judges, compulsory socialized healthcare, government forcing people to enter into private contracts against their will in violation of their inalienable rights, statism, fascism, socialism, etc.

Our founders recognized that our inalienable rights come from God. Our nation was founded on the principle that these rights are sacred and not to be violated and that government derives its “just” powers at the consent of the governed.

I hereby withhold my consent for the government (including uber statists such as Romney or Obama) to trample on my God-given inalienable rights!!

Yeah, well there seem to be more "teach the GOP a lesson" than there are rallyers for Newt.

I think the true disaster is that our choices from the beginning have disappointed one after the other.

And based on Newt's recent comments that he could be "ver, very enthusiastic" for Romney if he wins the nom, I've already got a gut-shot from him. Is he just going to accrue as much conservative campaign contributions as he can and then turn around and stab us in the back with a Willard endorsement?
