Mitt Romney leads President Obama in the first Gallup national daily tracking poll.

Romney took 47 percent support from surveyed registered voters, while Obama took 45 in a poll conducted between April 11 and April 15. Romney's edge though is within the poll's three point margin of error.

Independents tipped the scale in favor of Romney, going for the former Massachusetts governor 45 percent to 39.

I said there is a chance he will be better, not that I am at all convinced.

And please w NEWt! He is a great person, was the genius behind 1994, etc. But he is broke and can’t beat obama under any possible scenario given the mushy middle and women vote.

I know we can’t cheer for Romney, nor do I want to, but we can still cheer for Obama to lose.

Yeah Obama is losing!

First week of where Obama was the primary target of the Republicans and not each other.

Seems kind of silly to put out this poll when Obama has not yet begun to fight.

Actually, it's a great time for a poll - the GOP candidates have been hammering each other for 9 months. The liberal media has, of course, been piling on. This is as low as any GOP candidate can get. As soon as a nominee is picked, the GOP will close ranks and start going after Obama. I'm just hoping Obama's collapse in the polls doesn't start too early - I'd hate for Obama to bow out in favor of Hillary before the convention.

Obama has never faced defeat in his life. Imagine seeing the look on his face if he lost.

Obama’s people only have to run one ad in the Rust belt States. Mitt saying he like to fire people, a few people fired by Bain, then asking, “Do you want a President who made money from laying people like you off?”

The GOP-e has kissed off the rust belt when they should own it in this economy.

>>This is bad.

No Romney, no way.<<

So now we’re supposed to go from not supporting Romney to rooting for Obama?

Sick and demented. Shame on you.

See tagline.

Where I live, in the Pacific Northwest, I see it demonstrated over and over again: it isn't possible to buy an election. So I know that Romney's numbers are low because he and his message can't connect with voters.

The national numbers speak for themselves: 60% of the voters in this country are conservative or somewhat conservative. An even larger number of voters support vigorous applications of law and order - and that number cuts across political parties and demographic groups. But right now the major issue of concern to nearly all voters is the economy and gas prices.

Yet, our candidates, save for Newt Gingrich, aren't talking about those issues.

He doesn't have to possess an immense war chest. He only needs to be heard across the country AND without censorship.

There exists in this country infrastructures created by the Tea Party and SarahPAC that can reach millions of conservatives.

We don't need no stinking lame-stream-media. We just need people who will knock-off being defeatist and fight to take back their Republican Party.

LOL. The resistance without a country. Anything that is done after another four years of Obama is rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. The country is finished.

Shame on you, calling someone demented.

Too bad you won’t work to defeat Romney and put a conservative back in as a potentional Republican nominee!

Calling another names is a cheap shot.

I believe Obama will be divorced and broke within 5 years of losing in 2012.

He will go into a depression and start spending, same with mobacca, as if they think they are still in the WH. The friction and chaos will end the marriage. Bank on it, literally.

Newt is still in and I pray he wors a miracle and forces, somehow, a brokered convention.

if he does not...my intent is to beat Obama with the nominee we have and then hold that nominee's feet to the fire.

>>Seriously? No way Romney is worse than Obama. None. He isn’t my first choice, but I will easily vote for him in November. <<

Openly rooting for Obama on a conservative board. I’m sure they consider themselves “heroic” somehow.

Mind-boggling.

“The GOP-e has kissed off the rust belt when they should own it in this economy.”

Yes, you’re 100% correct.

Romney’s management of Bain was to Capitalism as a auto-wrecking junkyard is to the automobile manufacturers; Romney only knows how to cut-up and discard people and companies, not how to create anything as an entrepreneur.
