Now even Bo, the nations first pup, is being used to raise money for his the reelection campaign of his owner, President Obama. Cute for sure, but not everybodys wagging their tail over what is the first use of a presidential pet to raise campaign cash.
On the Obama-Biden campaign website, Bo is featured because it is the third anniversary of his adoption. Its a promise Barack made to his daughters--that if he won the election in November 2008, he would buy them their long-awaited puppy. On April 14, 2009, Barack followed through on his promise to Malia and Sasha--the Obamas welcomed Bo into their home, says the campaign of the Portuguese water dog.
Now, hes got three years under his collar as the first dog. This April, wish Bo Obama a happy anniversary as a member of the first family, adds the campaign website in a posting headlined, Throw Bo A Bone On His Anniversary. Of course, that bone would be a campaign contribution, starting at $10.
The first dog is wagging his tail in anticipation of four more years, says the campaign.
Maybe so, but some think the use of the first pet to raise money is tacky. Thats very crass, says Claire McLean of the Presidential Pet Museum. Thats like raffling the dog or auctioning the pet, she adds. Its not presidential to do that.

How I long to see him walking on the beach, alone....
They have always been using that dog for props.
Nixon was a brilliant and talented man.
The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
“The first dog is wagging his tail in anticipation of four more years, says the campaign. “
Bo was wagging his tail because he can finally move away to a real home in the suburbs next year.
“Its a promise Barack made to his daughters - ...”
Well then, that’s the ONLY promise he’s ever kept.
I bet they give Bo away when they leave office
Poor Bo probably wishes he was Barney..That dog had celebrity status, and personality.
Actually he did NOT keep this promise. The promise was to rescue a dog. He never did this. This dog was given to him by Ted Kennedy. I hardly consider that, rescuing a dog.
That makes perfect sense; 0bummer’s still batting ZERO.
Wow what about his promise to us to cut the deficit in half if elected.
That dog's gonna have to start earnin'
HE'S GOTTA GO !!!!
I loved the Christmas videos from the white house featuring Barney.........
I'd like to see one of those Big Bill Boards with a Picture of Barney that says, "Miss Me, Yet?"
Poor Bo, he thought he was a dog, but now he's a Cash Cow..
Heresy! CRUCIFY him! Crucify the Obamassiah!
According to Libs, people do NOT “own” animals; can’t even call them that demeaning term, “pets”: they are “caretakers of non-human companions”.
And now, Obamassiah is forcing Bo into involuntary servitude for his own enrichment: the very definition of SLAVE MASTER!
I might add, that him not “rescuing” and getting Bo instead may have been the first campaign promise out of the 20 billion he made, which he broke without even blinking. That could be another post for another time, what is the order or first campaign promise he actually broke.
Sounds like it’s going to be a very l-o-n-g list of broken promises. Are you sure FR has enough server space for it? LOL.
