Male Suspect Wearing Muslim Garb Robs Philadelphia Bank
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia police are searching for a male suspect who robbed a bank while fully clothed in Muslim garb.
The robbery happened at about 11 a.m. on April 13th at the Wells Fargo Bank branch located in the 700 block of Adams Avenue.
According to investigators, the suspect, wearing Muslim garb, entered the bank and presented a threatening demand note to a teller.
After getting an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect ran out of the bank and fled north on Tabor Road.
The suspect is described as a black male, mid to late 20’s with a medium build and wearing Muslim garb.

I suspect it's CBS's way of handling the delicate problem of describing the wanted party without being accused of "stereotyping" of "profiling."
The term "Muslim garb" is, I suspect, the precise pair of words that were used by the Philadelphia Police when they released information describing the perpetrator.
By using exactly the "official description," CBS can say "hey, we're just passing on information given us by law enforcement professionals, it's not our job to second-guess what they tell us." They hope this will buy them a bit of immunity from criticism from "the community."
Philadelphia media has come under a lot of criticism because (a) crime stories are a big part of the everyday news feed from Philly, and (b) the overwhelming majority of crime-related images end up being those of Holder's people.
This creates an unfortunate level of cognitive dissonance among the wordsmiths of the City of Brotherly Love. They hate to be a party to the ongoing process of racial stereotyping they despise, while at the same time being faced with the unpleasant reality that, if they don't perpetuate the process, they'll not have very much to print in their already greatly thinned-down news rags.
But they're so much smarter than us, you see.

This is a big deal for SeeBS. In the past, if the perp were an Islam, they would only say "male suspect".
